Going to disagree with you on the Adelaide pick. Our key defenders are; Nick Murray (23), Jordan Butts (24), Max michalanney (20), James Borlase (21), Josh Worrall (23), Mark Keane (24) and Dan Curtin (19). All have shown they can at least play AFL standard. With Tyler Welsh later id be jumping on best mid if i cant get a trade for pre established talent
Agreed we need a half back to play opposite side to Oscar Ryan not a key defender that will struggle taking Woz Muz or Keane's spot. Personally if we do move up to get another 1st rounder Travaglia looks dominant in the air and a great kick similar to Dawson and could move to the mid like Max is doing. With our round 1 pick Inside Mid Extractor to replace Laird and Crouch, Draper/Smith or we go big bodied O'Sullivan/Smillie. Dan Curtin is going to be getting experience in the centre from Nick's recent presser and that is what we all want a big bodied mid the more we have of those the more we can wear the oppo out then chuck our guns in like Dawson Rankine and Soligo at centre stoppage.
I still see the key defensive as an issue, it bats deep but lacks real talent, I appreciate the insight though, will consider it for next months mock draft!
Freo fan here - I know it's looking increasingly likely we won't be taking all three of our picks to the draft, but that would be a heck of a haul for us if we did!
I like the change up on the crows pick, it's different. But I think the crows will go for sid draper, the defence is something they have actually been very solid with this year in my opinion
If Freo goes into the draft with picks in the first round (apparently we are linked to Bolton and Warner), we'll take the best available with those picks. We won't favour local talent with early picks. If we are picking for needs - we do need a premium small forward to replace Walters.
I’m a fan of Jagga Smith to Eagles… they need an actual midfielder that can play more than 5 minutes here and there like the players they have now. O’Sullivan would be my preference but Jagga fits nicely too.
Essendon either need a small forward (desperately) or a key forward. I’d go small forward and throw Draper forward in place of Wright then bring in Bryan as #1 ruck. They can probably get a hard running back flank or pocket later in the draft but they’ll need to start planning for life after Heppell soon.
Yeah, spend another high pick on an interstate KPD. Lever, Davis, McAsey, Doedee..... after already taking Curtin... What we need is a class midfielder, we have an abundance of tall young defenders!
I personally think Hawthorn take Matt Whitlock over Draper. But it depends on whether or not the Hawks are successful in getting Bailey Smith or not. Whitlock can spend a couple of years at box hill to fill out & eventually replace Frost in a couple of years
Agree. Hawthorn don’t need another mid. They need to continue developing who they already have. The Hawks need a key back more. Someone like a Jordan Ridley type who can be the captain of the back 6.
Essendon need more small’s they don’t have enough if I was them I’d be trying to get a really good pick for Bryan so they can bundle that and a 2nd rounder together to get the 1st pick of R2 or the last pick of R1 to pull a power move and get both Berry & Kako!
I don’t want to lose Bryan. He’s only 22 and Goldstein is 36. Goldy is the bridge to getting Bryan into the team as #1 ruck. Then Draper can go forward. Imagine Draper at centre half forward, or simply replacing Peter Wright, and being the change out ruck. Young rucks take time to develop and, although Bryan has been staved of opportunity, his time will come. I wouldn’t trade him.
Sid Draper to the Hawks?.....Seriously doubt it, when we already have both ward & Hustwaite biding their time in the seconds....Thoughtless choice really.
@@alansimmonds9030 obviously Hawks have a good midfield but top 10 you usually just go best available. There's plenty of second round talent to suit your needs.
@@alansimmonds9030 I understand your list fine, you don't understand how the draft works, you don't select based off needs in the top 10. Just because North need a second key forward doesn't mean they're taking a Whitlock at pick 2.
Why does every AFL social media draft analyst basically post the exact same draft? "Smillie.....because North need someone taller in the midfield"! It's infantile stuff.
'This is the type of player you can't pass on...offers brute force and class'. Didn't say anything about North needing a taller mid, at pick 1 you just take the best available
