I know I did a wishlist video last week but I also have a secondary wishlist stored in my phone of plants I'm not even gonna attempt to obtain so welcome to 30 min of me talking about anthuriums I own in some alternate fantasy world 👁️🫦👁️
I'm actually looking forward to revisiting this list in a year or two's time and seeing if I was right in categorizing these plants as unobtainable!

I WOULD LOVE A SLEEPY TIME REPOT LOL. I usually fall asleep watching longer videos so I’m soooo up for a silent repot

I am always so jealous of all the Anthuriums that you have access to in Canada and are able to import but was very excited to watch this as an Australian viewer being able to shout and point at the TV screen when you showed Midnight Velvet, Cape Oasis and Heinz "I have that one!" These are all fairly accessible plants here and are very commonly crossed (mainly with Lux recently)

Love the work you put into this. I can’t figure out why anthurium details don’t stick in my head but I so want to retain more so I’ll probably listen again because I do find it all super interesting. I say listen because my favorite way to consumer plant content is to mostly listen while I doing life stuff but I love being able to see things when a visual is helpful. There are certain plant creators I want to support which is one reason I leave comments (because I hope it helps the algorithm). So with that in mind, I would play a mostly silent video but that video wouldn’t likely be for me. That’s okay though, some people may love it. *There’s no reason to try and make everyone happy all the time. And, it’s nice to try new things. Plus who knows, maybe I would end up loving it. I almost think the fact that the music tends to be very generic in the videos I watch that have less talking, is part of the reason I don’t love those types of videos though. I believe it’s costly or problematic to have more popular music play so I get that too. The life of a content creator isn’t easy but you do a great job. It’s thoughtful of you to ask for opinions. For this who may not be kind in their responses here or when you post the video (which I hope you do), maybe they would be less likely to make the comment section unpleasant if it’s clear in the title that it’s a quiet repot and you lead with that upfront (which I’m sure you would anyway but I thought it was worth mentioning).

I would prefer videos with you talking. I'm often doing plant chores to your video, so even if I'm not looking at the screen I can hear what you're saying.

If those anthuriums are in an alternate universe I’m right there with you Alice! What a bunch of stunning plants! As an aside, I would be interested in any video you put out. They are the highlight of my Sunday afternoons.

Oh wow hiiii! I was so shocked to see a couple of my plants in this video, I feel honored 🥹 Of the plants in this video I own 4, Juan carla, midnight velvet, circus peanuts, and Hoffmanii red sinus. Of the 4 I would say the Juan carla to be most worth the hype, I just feel like they’re consistently some of the nicest carlablackiae I’ve seen! I have seen mature circus peanuts before and nothing really compares, I’m glad they’re finally dropping in price. Midnight velvet I feel is easy to find dupes for, kind of the same with the Hoffmanii red sinus as well but I would say the Hoffmanii is nicer. I loved this list, you really curated a great variety!

Hi Alice, been watching you since the beginning through Charmaine's channel. Have never commented before, very passive viewer but love your content. Had to answer your enquiry about Hoffmaniii red sinus which is now being called Blood Moon in Oz. It is still an expensive plant here but all the other Oz hybrids you mentioned are very obtainable. Blood Moon is the most beautiful anthurium in my collection. The leaves are velvety, reasonably thin and not the most difficult to grow. The light reflection and oiliness of the leaves is to die for.

Beautiful wishlist if they would be all completed…. When this yesr started i added more of my anthorium collections, -Inverse Raven Soul -Black Magic (dres x lux) -papi blue x supermassive (this one is such a beauty, super red new leaf, and the veinations is like those of the stripy youve shown in the video, just really so attractive. -papi hybrid red stem (sold to me as noid), still not confirmed by my other pro friends, but it is elongated with pillowy leaf texture, red sinus, round stalks, red new leaf. -green doroyaki- always love the leaves of this doroyaki green, -amazon rabbit - the latest addition just few days ago from ecuagenera, Above are considered my priorities over the rest of my possessions added this month: Others: -clarivernum Tarantula - so classic perfect rounded leaf with the beautiful details of veinations. -dark crystallinum -red crystallinum -red silver crystallinum -noid (i bought this plant as it looks like dressrelii with puffy and bulging leaf texture, dark leaves, but somehow the huge leaf resembles aos. Another interesting details is that the new leaf always shows kinf od splashes var. -hybrid leuconurom - just love its leaf shape. Others that are still in juvenile form (i bought them as node cuttings)but the mother reference are just so lovely and i can not help myself but buy it. -kos x doroyaki After your wishlist, i think i will definitely add this in my 2024 wish list in addition to yours: -splendidum x crysta -kos (still very expensive here in PH)

I was super lucky to score Carla seeds from Juan in 2021 and I'm so happy to have one that survived. The reason he said he is not planning on selfing anytime soon is because the batch wasn't the strongest.

I watch for information and for something to have on while doing plant chores, so i would not be into a silent chore video. I'd probably still play it in the background while chorin though if i had nothing else on my list. :) i struggle with anthurium and live in a similar climate, so I'm always watching to see how you do things. :) I need a video of all of the big names in anthurium and the initials. I do my own research but still. 😂

This was such a great video Alice!! I’ve had two anthurium for years - clarninervium and veitchii. Only recently did I start getting interested in the more rare types and even won one of your Dark Phoenix seedlings from the recent auction. Anyway all of these mentioned in the vid are just incredible!

Re: Silent videos, I'd def watch it I often fall asleep and then rewatch videos the next day. Why not try it and see if you enjoy making them? I personally love listening to what you have to say, but I also know you feel you run out of things to say so silent videos are a great idea if it works better for you!

The cape oasis has such cool veins... I've never seen such a high "vein density" and the sections towards the sinus are so disproportionate to the rest of the leaf. Idk if this makes sense but I have never seen anything like it.

I love your long chatty repots, because I often do my plant chores at the same time, I have my earbuds in and am walking around. I am in awe of all of those unattainable, but then I am in awe of any anthuriums, I am very admiring of your current collection. I own 3 anthuriums, and want to start to attain a few more mature ones this year, but I have a low budget. I hope you manage to attain some off your wish list from your other video. I have been to Australia 6-7 times ( I am half Australian) but didn’t collect plants then. Maybe just looking at them on my next trip will scratch that itch! X

My all time unobtainable wishlist plant is the RA5 carla. Not gonna happen but one can dream. A close second would be the variegated ace from SCG but I guess I would have to sell my kidney (and hearth) to get this one, if they even ever release a cutting/offshoot for sale.

I just got myself a Black Widow 13 x Black Widow 43 (whatever that means but I like the 13 there). Apparently Doc Block is testing something in the EU Market and from what I could see, around 20 of these plants were sold within Europe. I truly think this is a market test or marketing campaign cause it made little sense but I managed to get one. They are seedlings but come with the official Doc Block tag and everything. From what I could see they are grown from seed (huge variation from seedling to seedling). I got one with the least veins possible in hope that it translate to thin veins when mature. Let's see what comes out of that.

So happily surprised you’re talking about some Aussie anthuriums!! I feel like we live in a different anthurium world with a lot of anthurium you guys own being inaccessible here. Crystallinum “Cape Oasis” was originally grown from wild collected plants decades ago by a Queensland nursery called “Cape Oasis”. Often referred to as a type of pure crystal ☺️ midnight velvet is one rare anthurium I was super lucky to snag a beat up seedling for cheap and it has taken off in the tent! It’s super root-y and has given a few offsets already! Definitely not one to be afraid of and is one of my favourites ❤ Also would love to know what mv is a hybrid of. The guy who created it has passed away and it’s shrouded in secrecy - but I do know that a handful of people in the hobby know the truth!

In the Netherlands there is this store called Casa Botanica, which is a partner of Doc Block. And actually not too long ago they released a few Anthurium Black Widow hybrids for around 250 euros a plant. One of them was" DocBlock Anthurium Black Widow® '13' X Red Velvet Cake® '24' " and another one was "DocBlock Anthurium Black Widow® '13' X Black Widow® '43' ". Maybe you should have a look at those, I imagine they are available in the US as they are already in Europe.

I can agree on the difficulty of anything with dressleri genes. got a dress x forgetti, and it is the ugliest thing ever right now. my suspicion is it hates touch, any kind of touch, whether it is spraying it with water or physical touch (water seems to be worse, i sprayed two new leafs thinking yeah its a fussy plant lets help it out, the leafs that got out i touched a bit, nothing excessive, started to yellow immediately). the ones i sprayed with water didnt make it over the 24 hour mark, shriveled up and died pretty much immediately. sooo yeah. dont even think about doing aaaanything to it, look at it from very far far far away.
