SailGP is high speed, high tech and high impact. This global sports championship combines cutting-edge tech, iconic global venues, elite athletes and record-breaking speeds to create the most exciting racing on water. Rival teams from the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, Canada, France, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and Spain battle it out at iconic venues around the world in short, intense races for a total prize pot of $7 million. Teams compete in identical hydrofoiling F50 catamarans that fly above the water at electrifying speeds approaching 100 km/h. Fan-centric and close-to-shore, each SailGP Championship culminates in a $2 million, three-boat, winner-takes-all Grand Final.

Why don’t they show Vmg any more? They did at the last Americas Cup, but they haven’t been showing it in SailGP. It really helps figure out who is on the good lines.

so a lot of ignorants around: I AM an sailor but clearly have to say, that knots (and miles) are always have been stupid, only allowed on earth for everything should be SI-units, such as km, kg, etc (comes from basic physics), sorry guys that’s fact

Let's face it, Scott is at the helm because of his position on the Americas cup boat. When Ainslie wins the AC because of it, he probably could not care less about SailGP results. From an entertainment perspective (which is the most important thing in sports) it should have been Hannah Mills.

Great racing, as always (!!) but on what planet does showing tenths of a klick per hour make any sense at all? That is just plain crazy. Tenths of klicks are utterly meaningless, and showing them actually degrades our (already limited!) ability to discern speeds. Is there no one at SailGP who understand Human/Computer Interactions (HCI) ???? The thing we need is VMG - the one and ONLY speed which counts in yachting. And yet you continue to defy the sport's standard for measuring speed.

Why do the show ride height? what a useless stat. How about showing the distance between the competitors like a normal race. SAILGP constantly drops the ball on almost everything.,

Switzerland 🥱🥱🥱. Nothing to show for. Same story year after year. Even with Nathan Outteridge at the helm. They seem content to finish 8th or 9th every single time. Simply put, this team is not worthy of the SailGP series and should be sent back to it’s Club Nautique in posh Cologny on the shores of Lake Geneva.
