Overview
Sitting at the top of Audi's SUV lineup is the 2024 RS Q8, a high-performance version of the two-row Q8 and SQ8 models. The RS Q8 shares its powertrain and chassis with the wild Lamborghini Urus, and the Audi's acceleration and general on-road attitude are definitely more aligned with its Italian sibling than its German luxury roots. Despite costing over $100,000 less than the Urus, the RS Q8 nearly matches the Lambo in each performance metric, keeping up in acceleration, handling, and braking. How's that for value? Plus, its luxury-lined cabin won't indicate to passengers that you cut some financial corners. Soft leather upholstery, faux suede accents, sharp-looking display screens, and satin-finished metallic trim all look six-figure-price appropriate. The biggest hiccup for the RS Q8 is the existence of the even more powerful and cooler-looking RS6 Avant station wagon.
What's New for 2024?
Although the Q8 and SQ8 models received a styling refresh for 2024, the RS Q8 carries over with only a few feature changes. Remote start is now available through the Audi Connect app and the adaptive cruise control feature now displays warnings if the driver is too close to other vehicles in traffic. The system will also provide alerts for the intersection assist system and info on traffic lights. The carbon ceramic brakes that were available last year have been dropped from the options sheet. We expect to see the RS Q8 get its own styling refresh for the 2025 model year.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The RS Q8 has a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine that produces 591 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque compared with the SQ8’s 500 horses and 568 pound-feet. The RSQ8’s engine pairs with Quattro all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission, and there's also a 48-volt hybrid system working behind the scenes to improve fuel efficiency. In November 2019, Audi set a record at the Nürburgring race course with a camouflaged prototype of the RS Q8. When we tested the RS Q8, it blasted to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds, only 0.1 second behind the far more expensive Urus.

Was ist neu für 2024?
Obwohl die Modelle Q8 und SQ8 für 2024 ein Styling-Refresh erhalten haben, übernimmt der RS Q8 nur wenige Funktionsänderungen. Der Fernstart ist jetzt über die Audi Connect App möglich und die adaptive Geschwindigkeitsregelung zeigt jetzt Warnungen an, wenn der Fahrer zu nah an anderen Fahrzeugen im Verkehr ist. Das System stellt außerdem Warnungen für den Kreuzungsassistenten und Informationen zu Ampeln bereit. Die im letzten Jahr verfügbaren Carbon-Keramik-Bremsen wurden aus dem Optionsblatt gestrichen. Wir gehen davon aus, dass der RS Q8 für das Modelljahr 2025 eine eigene Stilauffrischung erhält.
Alle RS Q8-Modelle sind serienmäßig mit einem adaptiven Luftfederungssystem, 22-Zoll-Rädern, beheizten und gekühlten Vordersitzen und einer Bang & Olufsen-Stereoanlage mit 17 Lautsprechern ausgestattet.
