@@BrosFOURRSpeed Mission accomplished, I'd say! Turned out beautiful!!! That's the exact tinting (including windshield) that I hope to do in a few months on my BRZ. And props to you for replying to messages even with 333k subs!
Tint is one of my first things on a vehicle. People skip the windshield a lot, because it’s normally not legal. But I’m with you, go the lightest and block that UV light. No one is getting pulled over for a 70% windshield.
My eyes are getting older, so the 30 in my car is affecting my visibility a bit at night. I’m thinking 45 for the next tint job, with 70 on the windshield. It is amazing the difference that windshield tint makes! Your tint guy obviously knows his stuff. It’s always a pleasure to watch someone do their trade and do it well.
and also Bryan the lamborghani gallorado is looking so much better, I think just the rear tail light and bumper need work and then the car will be back to normal again. I have also really enjoyed the rebuilding series videos.
I’m from the UK and have an 8Y RS3 sedan. It came from factory with I would say 30% light getting through on the rear windows. Also I noticed that this is not on your car, mine came with a sun strip on the windshield that is around 4 inches thick(about 30% light getting through) I think the windshield and front windows look like they have a light tint on them from factory too, possibly 70-80% light getting through. Is the reason Audi doesn’t have this on US models due to each US states having different laws?
Yeah in the USA only SUV’s and trucks will have factory privacy glass. Cars don’t come with any tint on glass from factories. Dealerships here will install it many times for a crazy up charge. And they use garbage film. So for us, going to shops like this are the best way to get good film
In New York State NO window tint is legal on cars, but federal law overrides state law and US DOT laws allow for trucks and SUVs to have either no windows in the back or tinted windows. That’s why all USA SUVs and trucks have tinted rear windows. Ironic that New York State, which is such an environmentally friendly state “supposedly” does not allow tinted windows. This changed a few years ago after a police officer was shot from the back of a …..SUV with dark tinted windows - which still can have tinted windows. So dumb. As a result, I enjoy the tinted rear windows on my Model Y and I didn’t get a Model 3. Likewise, I almost purchased an X3M over an M3 because of that. I basically will not consider a fuel efficient car anymore. Thank NYS who wants to ban gas stoves for enacting nanny laws that don’t make sense and work against themselves.
I have a 2024 Turbo Blue S3 and was advised by my tint shop not to tint the sunroof because he has seen that cause the sunroof to crack due to absorbing more heat from the sun. I wonder if that is true or if they just didn't want to tint upside down...🤔
We talked about that on my car. We did not use the highest level of ceramic tint. Those problems seem to arrise if you do the most heat rejection film. So a mid level film should be good ;)
completely normal bro. what happened was i organized to get 70% tint and i turned up and the installer said only 30% was available as there was a error in stock and he apologized but he said it will be completly fine and i was sitting there stresisng out thinking if i should do it and he reasured me its actually better so i thought what the hell lets do it, i sat in office waiting whilst they installing it thinking if i made a mistake lol, after it was done they brought car out and it looked immaculate. I sat in car for first time with 30% and to my astonishment it was barely no different to 70%. best decision i ever made. keep in mind this is in Australia so i duno if 30% is same as your percentage there, but its absolutely fine and il continue to get on next vehicles i get. @URRSpeed Just a side not. He did mention it was a special type of tint that also reflected cell phone camera detection if you interested in brand or type i can email him and find out but he did say it wasnt normal 30% tint, must be some special kind for windshields.
