@@curio78 Dear friend.. with a 250 cc engine you can easily cruise between 80 to 120 .. I also talk about Dual channel ABS here ... Talking about Indian Roads they are improving.. we do have roads to cruise at greater speeds.. again not talking about ... Going at 200 kmph.. also I own an Avenger 150cc.. travelled 60k km on it... Mumbai to Karnataka, Gujarat, Goa. So I know what I need ... if you think you are good with 160cc please do so.. no one is stopping you. You can check the channel it's the same one.
I agree, that top speed is 85 kmph. But a 250 can cruise at 85 kmph more comfortably than a 160. Infact Bajaj is already offering 220 but their 250 engine (n250) is better. Avengers also need few cosmetic updates for 2024. At least a dual disc setup.
Avenger needs a major overhaul, the design has not changed much and its a decade now.. and dual channel ABS is very much needed in this bike. Look at the switch gears, I think it's from the CT100 that came almost 2 decades back
Proud owner of this beast. Always ready for a ride lowest maintenance cost. True value for money. Riding since 2018. Just one complain is pillion rider seat. It is really bad for long rides.
I own an Avenger 220 Street model (it is discontinued now, I bought one from the last few of the batch). Though I have ridden a lot of other type of bikes, this one is my favourite. I have done long distances in it comfortably. I don't know, why there is not much demand for higher cc cruisers. I would love to have one with 400 CC engine. Cruisers are one of the best motorcycle types. Kudos to Bajaj. Now is the time to upgrade this model with a 400CC engine.

is avenger 160 street good enough for occasional cruising, say from bangalore to munnar or pondicherry, for example, or would i need an avenger 220 for it?

Dino Bhai please talk about the Govt.'s plan of bringing E20 petrol in 2025 five years ahead of schedule, and its affects on older BS3, BS4, BS6 engines that are not meant to use that fuel mixture. Also if you could find out from your industry contacts whether the manufacturers will provide replacement parts for those older engines to make them E20 compliant.
I have a street 220 of 2016 BS3 and that is brutal power and i aslo did put NGK iridium spark plugs and this was insane and also a BS4 CDI which acted as boon to that .
Younger also like to ride it ok not only uncles or father's so breaking is the first main Point of safety that's y rear tyre also need dual disc n dual chennal abs too

Avenger never got discontinued from launch to this day for not selling. Which means somebody is buying it. Nothing can be more comfortable than this. That is why it still sells.
