We’re in the early days equivalent to a Model T Ford, and already better in most ways to ice cars, no brainer in the city and you can charge overnight.
I could see getting used to having your doors open or close automatically. I initially thought some of the features in my newer car were a bit unnecessary but I’ve come to love a few, the brake hold feature is so much nicer than I thought it would be. I thought it’s not a big deal to hold the brake pedal at a stop light and I don’t really need this but it is so nice and really comes in handy in long periods of stop and go traffic. Now when I drive another vehicle that doesn’t have it I realize how much I actually love the feature.
I can attest to what you said about not feeling the weight... What struck me the most while driving it a couple of times, besides the luxurious features, was how feather light it felt around corners.
Well I think it looks great. Very imposing and aggressive. Seen a few waft around in the US and they look amazing. Certainly better than the soap bar Mercs
This 7 series is the highest selling BMW 7 series in History. Can't find any data suggesting they're struggling to sell it. It's selling strongly in the USA as well. The current odd designs are breaking sales records for BMW. I think they understand what their core customers really like, more than the internet.
BMW doesn't care about people on the internet since most don't have money for a new 7 series anyway 😂 This car is selling like hotcakes in their target markets like Asia where they like the bold and ostentatious design.
@@gunterrr2302 true Mercedes focused too much on pleasing people on the internet and as I see it, the w223 is a w220 remake, unreliable off the showroom floor like any new Range Rover
some facts for you... (Including BEV versions) Eu sales: 7 series: 3.697 S class: 10.277 USA sales: 7 series: 7.265 S class: 13.637 China sales: 7 series: 8.089 S Class: 27.733 The gap between s class and 7 series gets bigger and bigger. China is one of the most Important market and New 7 series fails miserable. In Europe 7 series is pretty much irrelevant. No v8, no v12 just inline 6 diesel and petrol = huge fail for luxury car. There are some interesting articles about new 7 series- bimmerpost for example. Only XM sales are worse. There hundreds on german used car market for very little money.
@jojajo2707 well once the LCi comes the sales would climb up massively,if you can remember the E65 generation 7 series, that one is the best selling 7 series for a reason despite the controversial design, and also the reason why S class sales remain high is the usual hotel limos, taxis are all using it to boost up the sales
So limited performance and some of the luxuries turned off in order to get a reasonable range. Well glad to see that your money is not wasted on this car.🙄🙄
Having less than 500km effective range makes this car completely unusable for what it would be great at. This thing with a 550hp v8 or a proper v12 would be a beast.
EV prices are tanking right now. They can't give these German EV's away people are buying Tesla or BYD Hyundai and Kia because the batteries and charging is better
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏻, It’s a luxury car, but as a sports car, which is not, it would maybe be good to sleep in since it’s big, but to me it really is a waste of money!
Anyone else get bored watching these electric car reviews? They’re so soulless and boring in every way. I absolutely love cars, and have three ice bmws. I never finish the videos. Love to autotopnl brilliant content.
This is a great looking car. Well done BMW! There is something in that reminds me the line of the 2000 CS from the 1960's. It is big a luxurious behemoth, like a RR. TV screen is unique and a trendsetter. Max doesn't like the front of the car. Ok, it is a question of taste, but many people like me like it. Go on Max, keep on with the good work!
Noting range at speed how does Germany than intend to go electric with its autobahns? I presume most catch the fast trains between cities or they don't travel too far out like the Americans, Canadians and Australians do.
BMW continues to make BMW uglier than previous models after the 5 series f10. The f10 is the companys last stunning looking car, a little bit the f90 and g30. It is unpleasant to watch how the cars appearance deteriorates, being BMW fan. Thanks for the great videos.
well designs may not catter to netizens taste but their quality is way off the charts as well as reliability, just behind Porsche, meanwhile Mercedes focuses too much on pleasing Netizens with their design but ending up their interior quality and reliability is garbage, what's more stupid is shoving a 4 cylinder hybrid under the C63 bonnet, eventually the G wagon and S class would get a 4 cylinder too
Looks like a Skoda Superb on steroids... and it is hard to appreciate the paint and exterior body creases when the car is soooo dirty... Not criticizing: it is just a fact.
Anything sub 777 hp is a disappointment .. They should have worked harder for that magical number considering their strongest, top of the line 7 series
No way. If I was offered a well cared E39 M5 I would have that instead. Pathetic thing apparantly for people who does not appreciate driving. Silly Drive by Monty Python...
@ralzvy Only if the charging infastructure allows it at absolutely full power. And there's no-one else around using it. And even then, it won't charge in "like 20 minutes". And none of them do anything LIKE 600 km in the real world. But yeah, apart from all those things...
EVs are already obsolete and no one wants to buy them, people finally caught on to the fake hype and sales are dropping , good luck charging an EV Germany in the future the way things are going, the EU will suffer energy crisis and European countries will ban EV charging, it already happened once in Germany last year when they asked people to stop charging their EVs.
@@seansiew5629I can't say anything about the quality.. I just see the design, which is absolutely not harmonious for me... the proportions of the radiator grille... baahh.. Interestingly, I find the RR Phantom one of the most harmonious cars in this class in terms of design.. it has a very large radiator grill too... but in my opinion the proportions are very, very harmonious... but of course, as always, everything is a matter of taste...
@@miffimeyer2448 i own 2 S classes namely w221 and w222, in both S65 guises, as once i step in the w223, the luxury is just gone inside the w223, as well as the interior quality, my MB mechanics have been reparing w223s very often as they hit the workshop due to multiple issues
I definitely agree with you! The i7 x drive 60 was not my favorite, but this M70 is quite a lot better! But of course the 740d is where my money would go :)
The M70 is my dream car for three reasons. - some of the best steering in a BMW - shadow line grill WITH iconic Glow - and obviously the most important, auto opening driver door when approaching (super important 😂)
@@till8014 Its much lighter than the EV vearsions, and have a lot of toureq comper to a petrol 300 hp engine (670nm). As said, it’s ment to be driven long distances with good fuel consumption, and its also feel quick thanks to a lot of toureq that available from low RPMs
