My wife and I like the grill and the front end, e.g. a concept car we can buy. Then we add in great range, performance, handling and a super interior. Great video Ben.
Ive seen one of these in person and its the ugliest thing on wheels. I like bmw and have owned a couple but i don't know what they were thinking with this design
I love the simplicity of Tesla. Steering wheel, accelerator and iPad. Perfect for me. BMW & Mercedes too overloaded for me with software from the last century
I’m a new owner after owning a 2020 Model S. Not the coolest looking EV, but Performance and range from 20% to 80%far superior to my Tesla. Mixed HWY and city 340 miles. Interior fit and finish superior to my Model S.
And how big of a compromise is not having autopilot for you? That is the only thing holding me back from upgrading to this one. I'm on a model 3 right now but I love the autopilot feature on my Tesla. Thanks!
@@radio_nowhere I found no value in autopilot on my Model S. What I do value is a car which doesn’t drive and maneuver like a buckboard carriage, that is quiet and comfortable and that gets an unembellished range. This is where the IX comes in at a respectable price point.
What else I’d terrible is the short bench the seats. All trims. There is no support for a taller driver. Volvo has extendable seats. This is a deal breaker!
I have a 2024 IX M60, and I wish I had waited for the 2025 model year, which is already available in Europe and as early as March 2024 in the U.S. The 2025 receives the new M-style steering wheel and dark accents for the interior instead of gold and bronze. Carbon fiber trim for the M60 would have been nice! We do need that trailer hitch and the IX has it, except BMW doesn't provide it for the US market. ?? It is often hard to put the kid's bike in the back. I also wished the range was better. So far, I am very disappointed with the range and the charging time. I hate the fact that BMW and other automakers get away with the "up to" range. What does that mean? I also wished they had the rear window sunshade. All my other BMW SAVs had them. One would think that for a special car like IX they would have one.
It really depends on how you see those 2 brands. Tesla is still ahead of others in terms of software, but build quality etc😅. Owned 2 model s and 1 MY in last 5 years. Just sold my 22 MS to get a IX60. Fit and finish, material used on IX is way better. Driving is execellent, the way bmw tuned the throttle is superb. My son got motion sick in the back of MS 8/10 times, not any more😊. EPA Range is more realistic. My 2 biggest complaints: no frunk, it cannot connect to Wi-Fi. Solely relying on T-Mobile just sux
I have a model y. Decided to buy it because my cousin has a model y 2022 and the suspension is terrible in our opinion, so we sold it, but they fixed the suspension by upgrading it and dropped the price by 15k in 2023. So far, the drive is fun compared to my Honda civic. Love the software, but sometimes buttons can be hard to find. My panels are a little bit misplaced though. They don’t line up well. Also, if they didn’t add the giant screen in the middle of the dashboard, the car would be the most bland car ever in the interior. One more issue I have is that because the front where the grill would be on a gas car is curved in, bugs get stuck there easily. Have to wash this car a good amount.
My biggest complaints about the iX is the difficulty charging and the slow charging speeds relative to Tesla. I agree, Tesla software is on point and so is their charging network. BMW has a few quirks as well but the build quality, comfort, fit & finish are light years ahead of Tesla.
Test drove one today. It drove well and I like the range. However after testing an EQS 580 suv and Ana EQE AMG there is no comparison on the interior or tech. The EQE and EQS are superior. From a styling perspective both bmw and mb drop the ball
BMW is way overpriced, ugly, and over-engineered. I own both brands but do not like the direction BMW is going. Not just BMW. All legacy car makers just don't get it when it comes to EV design.
unless you are very old and will die soon, you pretty much won't be able to own a non-electric vehicle (or at least a non-hybrid) soon. Traditional IC vehicles will become obsolete in a very near future. The only way to own one would be super expensive and available to collector types.
Wow that that interior already looks extremely garish and that infotainment already looks out of date. Since they don't do OTA it's going to lose resale value like crazy. While the Tesla's will continue to get the latest and greatest updates. It's slower, no supercharger, garish interior, horrific exterior, poor range, etc. Tesla wins by a LOOONNG mile.
They do OTA. We own one and have over 15k miles on it and it’s far far better than any comparable Tesla. Way more comfortable. More interior room. The infotainment is outdated? Seriously? Have you ever even been inside a Tesla? But oh well I guess there’s nothing wrong with wanting something extremely boring and uninteresting to sit in every day. It’s crazy how far the Tesla fanboys will go with their mental gymnastics to prove that their Lego brick build quality eggs are better than anything else out on the road.
@@emilonanian7364 1) You’re so Sil ly lol ! They are ALL going to lose resale value! Tesla, BMW, and all the rest of them. But in all honesty, it is actually TESLA who has led the way in resale lost! How you say? Because they have had a million price cuts to boost sales, and new buyers are buying them for thousands cheaper than what people paid a few years ago…in fact, way cheaper than what people paid only a few months ago. 🤦🏼♀️ 2). To me, I think the Teslas look like crap. They look like a bubble or a 1973 VW Bug in the front. 3). Tesla drives hate when the iX pulls up next to them on the road. They quickly realize which one looks superior to the other. It also puts you in a different league in comparison to bubble Teslas. EVERYtime I considered getting a Tesla, strictly for the purpose of a cheaper price, someone would come driving by in one and I would look at the front of that thing, and I just couldn’t get myself to spend my money on it, no matter how cheap! 4). Of course it does OTA. Cars from the early 2000’s do OTA, where have you been 🤦🏼♀️???…stuck under a rock Or did you just not get the memo?
