Predominantly talking about my observations from the first two track weekends of unleashing the beast (stock) plus the pending stage 2 mods/ full unlock.
Im glad some people can afford to ride this thing on the track. Sounds like a great experience. Do you plan on showing your install of the block off plates?
Enjoy that monster! I am looking forward to your dive into the onboard capabilities of the data loggers and track timing factory system. The tune from BT will kill that dead spot and really help out, the factory hole on these bikes (24 RR for me now, was a 23 and an 18 before that) is garbage on the newer bikes. We can thank our EPA for that crap. looking forward to your conteent.
My suspension tuner told me not to bother recording the current suspension settings as there were too many variables including my rapidly increasing comfort and change of tracks. Tight/technical vs higher speed tracks etc. That said my next track weekend Ill start recording the settings as I feel I should be able to benchmark things per speed and my comfort now that Ive spun enough laps post break in. Tire pressures Hot: I was running 34 in the front and 24 in the rear on the stock tires. Ill be putting the slicks on this pending track weekend so well see if that changes but should be similar depending on conditions.
How much do you weigh? I have same bike, (225 ib. w/ gear) Still trying to figure out suspension settings. IM so used to my 2021 k 67 M sport. The front end seems to continually bounce after high speed bumps on road. I have the rear suspension pretty good, i think. My eccentric came -1 from factory which made the rear feel way jacked ip. I adjusted it to -2, much better. Swingarm pivot is a 5 dots from factory. Yours? Did yours come with the GPS lap trigger already installed? Or what? Im realizing that my dealer forgot it? Be careful with sprint filter, lets MUCH more debris into engine....I run stock air filter. Are those the threaded or non threaded version of bonamicci footpegs? They look non threaded. Found them at motod racing. I actually dropped this bike, and bent the right footpeg, I did have frame sliders that took the majority of the fall, along with the carbon wing of course but only on the corner. can barely notice it. Also got full PPF/ceramic coating on full bike, worth every penny! Do you like the OEM seat? Im 5"8, and i could not stand that OEM seat. Bought a previous gen m1000rr seat and put a REALLY nice looking/themed seat cover on it from motostorm, check them out! Just type in m1000rr seat cover. You'll see ! Sorry for all the questions but you seem pretty solid! Love the content! SUBSCRIBED!
Im 220-225 w/out gear. My suspension tuners at the track have been able to dial me in w/ some room to spare with the stock springs and fluids so far, but I havent quite got up to speed yet as Im still learning the platform. That said the stock rear matches what you shared. Im hoping my next track weekend will give me the benchmark per unlocked bike, significant weight removed and my comfort increasing. So well see how the stock suspensions measures up at pace. The GPS lap trigger requires the purchase of the M Data logger and then activation at the dealership. The modules install in the tail of the bike. I went with the Aim Solo 2DL as I didnt mind the extra hardware and the pricepoint and functionality made it the more attractive option for me. Filters all have pros/cons. If I were riding on the street in mixed conditions Id agree with keeping the stock airbox per Maximum filtration but at the track in controlled conditions: max airflow is preferred. But if I run into issues Ill report back. Non-threaded for the Bonamicci footpegs. You can also get the www.bellissimoto.com/parts/rearsets-footpegs/footpegs/gilles-footpegs-for-rgk2-adapters, of which I also placed an order to see which I prefer. They offer folding and unfolding and even a race version. I dont have them yet to absolutely confirm compatibility but Im pretty sure per the hardware it will fit. I have the stock seat and no complaints from me but Im 6'1" No worriew with the questions. Happy to help!
The lap trigger is supposed to come standard with the m1000rr, is it not? It was not installed on my bike nor was I given a tangible item. We're you when you bought yours?
I originally thought it was included with the bike as well... but turns out its a separate purchase according to my dealer... as its "ready" to accept the gps lap trigger once you buy the module for like $1300 plus whatever activation fee. Not so straight forward but it certainly should have been in my book per the M comp package...
@McBurly hey did you flash your bike yet? I have the bren tune stage 1 ready to go on my handheld however I'm waiting for some GoPro parts to come in so I can make a before and after video, how many miles is on your bike when you're flashing it?
Awesome info. I greatly appreciate your personal insight here. I sold my last track/road bike ( 21 S1K M pkg ) and finally took delivery of my 24 M1000RR Comp after over a year of waiting. Lookin forward to seeing more content/info!
@@MangoT140 hah! 100% as those are some certified fast boi hoonigans. It wont be so easy to get on my tail next time now that I have enough seat time to start meshing my style with the new platform... plus the tune and slicks.... going to be wild. Always a good time w/ the Carters posse (track day provider)
