When compared to its competitors, the $140k makes sense. There’s no car offering equivalent performance, capability, & overall experience sub $100k. Admittedly it still is an expensive vehicle.
I prefer the exterior look of the pre LCI X5M, along with the dashboard screens. Don't like that one-piece screen sticking out like the eyesore that it is. The previous generation X5M had rear air suspension. Didn’t provide any softer of a ride and didn't handle nearly as good as this generation. Air ride suspensions are a compromise on a performance vehicle. Even Porsche system isn't that great.
Dude I love your camera work/angles and those color graded pics you mixed in at the start. Would you ever review the 2024 M340? Would love to hear your thoughts
Let’s be honest Eddie if you were driving this X5M competition next to a BMW M engineer/driver I don’t believe you would be saying this X5M competition needs an Air suspension! Overall, as a new owner of one of these vehicles I’m totally impressed and satisfied. There’s really no competition to be honest
@@dnice362 what do you really get? 90 more hp? Little more torque? Extra gloss black panels? The only real winner for the RSQ8 is the RS tuned suspension but even then, after market support can fix the SQ8 suspension and power deficiencies. But it’s up to you if you think the 29k difference in price is worth it. 🤝
I know its a hot take but the x6m just looks alot more special. Shih looks like a spaceship. Still like the x5 but its def a more traditional suv design
Nah it ain’t a hot take IMO. The X6 in general is supposed to be the flagship SUV for BMW. The X6M is just that much more special looking and futuristic. Don’t forget, BMW themselves invented this “coupe SUV” category many years ago with their X6! Everyone else has just been copying since then.
Hi Eddie Great reviews I just looked at a X5M and can not look at that dash it does not fit, MB did a better job with incorporating the flat screen and just looked at Audi SQ7 and they have a great dash but not as much power. I had a 2013 X5M and loved it but all BMW's are going to that dash and it stinks
I actually ended up really liking this iteration of iDrive. Had a 2024 GLE63S right before it and wasn’t a huge fan of MBUX. You are right that the screen sticks out more tho on the BMW.
Eddie...pick x5m or porsche cayenne turbo GT? Porsche also has the turbo e-hybrid that's coming out. I know they are different price points but would the x5m compete in driving dynamics and interior? Thanks
It is tough with the very different price points. I haven’t driven the Cayenne turbo GT yet, just the new Cayenne S. I think I’d go for the X5M tho and put the extra money towards something else 👀
Where exactly is the stop/start button. The one you "deactivate' when you drive "this" car? I would like to know where in the cockpit this button is. My daughters a new x3 6 cyl and my son in-law has a new X5 6 cyl. We cannot locate this button because there isn't one. Are we wrong? We finally figured it out that one can only "deactivate" the auto stop/start function by driving in sport mode. Are we missing something? We can't find the button and others tell us that BMW took it away. Probably to pre-empt the guys that "just press" the de-activate button. Please help! If there are owners out there who own these models please let me know how to deactivate that button.
$140,000 for this? Wow. Here I am thinking new Lexus GX is expensive around $80,000. Much rather get new 4-Runner coming out soon at $50,000-$60,000 with hybrid engine and all. This is ridiculous.
BMW is the reason why Rolls Royce is still alive. And they make them basically do as they please but provide a platform for vehicles. More than likely this was Rolls Royce alone decision.
@gaara4667 You really are stupid if you think it was Rolls Royce final decision. BMW is just plain greedy. In their mind, why spend more money designing and making body panels unique to Rolls Royce when they can recycle what they use on their own car models. Thus, they can save money and cmslap a sky-high price tag since it has a RR badge attached to it. Just plain greedy, everyone knows damn well that those goofy angular front bumper vents go against RR design language, which is timeless and classic.
@@Aiseru_ and you must be stupid to attack someone based off what ifs. I said “more than likely” given everyone knows BMW doesn’t interfere(at least noticeably) with Rolls Royce. I don’t know what BMW did to you but you gotta resolve those issues.
They are responsible for the continued existence of Rolls Royce, which many famous and wealthy people still buy from. If you are referring to their new car designs, keep in mind that BMW make them do their own thing so design is their choice. Keep your BMW agenda to yourself.
