You're welcome! The Envista has definitely been a hit for Buick. I have some friends who have purchased them and are getting compliments from people all the time
I learned more from your review than ANY of the other big names in car reviews. I was pleased that you did not mention the words 'price point' every two minutes. And you did not waste time talking about what it doesn't have, as most others do. After watching your review, I could climb into an Envista and know enough to get going for a great ride. Well done. Nice jacket by the way.
I took out the Trax, and didn't like it from the start. Of course, I went right to the Envista, and was blown away. The vehicle you were testing is exactly what I will get - just finishing up the lease on my Equinox. Thank you very much for reaffirming my choice, and very nice job Sir!
It's wild how much of a difference GM made between the Trax and Envista. Glad that the video helped you out with your choice, hope you love the new ride once it's ready!
I'm a big fan of how you go into the details of the car, especially the "Settings information" screen. There was a lot of stuff I wasn't even aware of. Very Well done! Thanks
You're welcome! Always good to hear when people like the crazy detail I go into with these videos. Have you already picked up an Envista or doing some research for your next ride?
@@CarsWithSteve Yes, I just purchased my 2024 Envista ST this weekend and it has all the packages. It's being shipped since this particular trim (ST in white) was very hard to found in VA.
That's exciting! The ST has been next to impossible to find everywhere. All local dealers here either have the Preferred or Avenir, but these black wheels look great. Hopefully you aren't waiting too long!
I just bought a new Envista preferred... I love driving it... It's a bit underpowered... But it's just going to take me a little while to get used to driving it... It's really quite a fun car to drive... I'm blown away by all the technology on it
Glad you're enjoying it for the most part. For the price, the performance is decent but by no stretch is it a powerful engine :P What car were you driving before jumping into the Envista?
You're welcome! Sales people not going over the full functions of the cars on delivery is one of the reasons why I started this channel so I'm glad it's helping owners out :)
I can't believe it's Buick.. BUICK... that has a sub-$30k model that looks like the baby brother of a Lamborghini Urus. I think it's a sharp design that can hold its own against $50k+ European models.
My husband and I test drove a Trax, and while we didn't hate it, we decided to go with the Envista for the same reason we chose an Encore over the Trax four years ago; Buick is just better put together. Quieter, too. The Trax have the active noise canceling now, so they're better than they used to be, but for the money, you can't really beat the Buick. I also think Buicks retain their value a little better than Chevys. Thank you for the great video!
@@CarsWithSteve We “might” consider it. It’s not as premium as I would like, but there is no denying the value proposition this vehicle provides compared to the competition. Saw a couple more of your videos. I really enjoy the level of detail you provide in your vehicle reviews. You are doing a great job, keep up the good work! Thank you.
It's definitely more of a entry level lux vehicle. Depending on your budget the new 2024 Lincoln Nautilus is a good option as well! Appreciate the kind words as well, always good to hear when people enjoy the detail I go into with my videos
Beautiful on the outside, very old-fashioned on the inside. The interiors do not do justice to its new sporty design, it seems like you are inside a 2015 Chevrolet somewhere
Shots fired!! Haha, they could have done a bit nicer of an interior but when you compare it to the Chevrolet equivalent it's better quality for sure. Tough to command Cadillac quality with the price of the Envista too
Steve....you missed an important shortcoming with the "Remove From Cluster" function. When you set up the Gauge-2 screen, with the tach, behind the steering wheel, and then, afterwards, decide to show one of the gauges from the center screen in the cluster, when you remove it from the cluster, it does NOT leave the Gauge-2 option you selected with the tach....it automatically reverts back to Gauge-1 instead. I find that annoying.....you then have to manually set Gauge-2 again. I don't think the engineers caught that when they designed the system.
You know what? I didn't even notice at time of shooting or even editing the video that happened! It's a little bug that you might want to reach out to Buick about and give them a heads up
@@CarsWithSteve Thanks for the reply. I mentioned it to the service people at the dealership last time I was there, since they deal with those screens every day.
Makes sense.. they probably won't do anything with it at the dealer level but a reach out to head office is more likely to get their attention. How are you enjoying it otherwise?
@@CarsWithSteve I have a 2021 with the older video-screen system........my comments were based on a test drive of the new 2024/25 system. Best vehicle I've ever owned for the kind of driving I do......mostly urban/suburban shopping/errands, with a need for tight manuverability/easy parking. The Encore GX delivers that....with the Buick premium interiors and Quiet-Tuning. My only long-term concern is the reliability of the turbo 3-cylinder engine....if I keep it much longer and don't trade for a new 2025.
I was going to say.. must be the Envision or Encore for your 2021. Sounds like you're enjoying it though! The 1.2L turbo in this car is new to the Buick lineup but it has been around in the Asian market for quite some time. It seems to have good reliability overall there but since the Envista is only a little over a year old in North America it's going to take some time before we know real world relability here
I love the Envista exterior styling but ended up buying a 2024 Chevrolet Trax because the interior looks and feels a bit more lively. Plus - Buick needs more masculine color options for the Envista.
i lease 2 months ago and i am so happy . my buick is full options and silver . The only problem I have is that when I accelerate, it suddenly gains speed. There's a gap in the middle. Suddenly it goes from two to eight. It has an acceleration problem.
Always good to hear when people are enjoying their new cars! Really odd about it jumping up like that without you flooring it.. Does it happen all the time or occasionally? Had the chance to take it in for a service appt yet?
Copper looks pretty good with the black wheels! The Ocean Blue is way lighter in person than it appears online, so for me it would be the Copper for something loud or Black to go for a dark theme
Is there a way to adjust the volume of the Blind Spot Monitoring's beep when you enact your turn signal and there is a vehicke present? Right now, my Avenir level Envista's BSM only FLASHES the icon in the mirror if a car is peesent, which can be difficult to see in bright light. I would prefer a beep or other sound to be heard. Is this available? Great video!!
Thanks! You can turn the alert on or off through the infotainment screen under Collision/Detection which is covered off in this video.. The only custom volume you can adjust is the general chime which is in the Comfort/Convenience screen
@@ndi5670 Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking (with pedestrian detection) systems are standard on all models. You can also get the optional package that includes Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Warning systems. Not to compare apples to oranges but like the Kona the Envista is built in South Korea.
AWD isn't really necessary unless you live somewhere that gets a ton of snow during the winter or you ideally want to do a bit of light off-roading. FWD is still ok with winter tires
@@CarsWithSteve Well said. I grew up with rear-wheel drive American cars in the 1970s. In Rochester to Buffalo entire Northeast we all bought snow tires. I drive a 9 yr old Camry with Blizzaks. No need for AWD or 4WD unless going off-road or live on or use dirts roads in winter. Many people up here just use All-Season tires all year long that have FWD cars with no problems.
With a wet timing belt & a engineered high replacement cost, reliability will be a issue. Ditch this vehicle before the power train warranty ends. Built in China or Korea; GM has little build cost, as you globally support other countries.
You're supporting countries around the world with any vehicle because of where parts are manufactured or raw materials are sourced... There haven't been many owner complaints for the Envista yet and it's way too early to tell whether or not this car will have long term issues as 2024 is the first model year
