The Cape Express Beach Blast, started in 2003 by tournament director Mike Granigan, was held Saturday and Sunday on the beach north of Morey's Piers & Beachfront Waterparks. The tournament brought in 880 teams that played in eight-team divisions within 13 different age brackets. Granigan estimated there were nearly 7,500 players this weekend, not including adults and coaches.
