This car not only looks spacious and comfortable, but have beautiful interior design too. Perfect for a family car.

To be fair, Omoda 5 uses torsion beam while Tiggo 7 uses Multilink suspension, which is totally different altogether. The shape thou more MPV than SUV. I do see it will distrupt X70 upcoming facelift, which we all know Proton is so lazy to make better changes. The rear lamp is still using 6 years ago design. Proton is still with Wira mindset facelift up to 10 years. Ridiculous, and yet the government still wanna support Proton. Proton now is almost 40 years old, still wanna spoofed

When the Omoda 5 just launched, I thought all Chery needed was another chance to succeed. Now I see they need a miracle.

Up to minute 1.22 I would have said the same (if no Omoda5 issue), but, now, maybe praises should be in past tense? Omoda 5 issue also affects Indonesia.

Was considering chery omoda 5 ev but the axle problems just pushed me away from the car brand

I consider to buy.. Good price for a high tech technology. Buying a honda n toyota or mazda is just a typical malaysia. Japanese brand is so comfort with their style, ego, 10yrs ago technology (toyota). Don't think about 2nd hand value.. In malaysia only toyota n honda have 2nd hand value.

At the end day, durability , available parts, good service these will define who will last.

The back seat is too straight and not adjustable. It is not comfortable for the back passangers if you want to go for long trip.

Proton is confident X70 is best of the best, just a few upgrades here and there (not even launch yet) will knock down these new competitors. So how can Chery Tiggo 7 be X70's worst nightmare? Chery O5 rear axle fiasco is its worst blunder in the Malaysian market.

There's a proverb I read somewhere that goes like "not even the blind falls in the same pit hole twice".... so nope... cherry literally exposed itself with omoda 5 that what's under that fancy body in terms of build and quality... I hope we all have learned the lesson and should not neglect about our own and our family's safety 👍

Some reason to reconsider if you opt for chery: 1. Rear axle issue on omoda 5, that's early indication the quality goes to the drain 2. Brake issue, globally 3. Overheat issue, there is video doing genting run with tiggo 8 pro, brand new car should not do that Btw, I think chery might regain customers confidence by giving 1 million km + 10 years warranty to all customers instead of exclusively for early 3000 customers only.

With Chinese cars, the selling point are mainly cosmetics. Nice interior and feature packed with latest gadgets to attract buyers. With cheaper selling price, something has to be compromised. Sat in a lot of Chinese sedan cars when was in china (all taxis) and honestly speaking cannot compare with a corolla in terms of refinement and comfort in my opinion although corolla interior sucks. So i think chinese cars focused on cosmetics and features and less engineering to keep the price low. There will be a doubt on its durability and longevity in the long run of lets say 5-10 years. Meanwhile Hyundai/KIA has built a reputation of being reliable and long lasting (i owned a Santa Fe year 2014) and hence now korean cars are priced pretty similar to japanese cars and yet still proved to be popular in region such as middle east, europe and australia.

Do the BRAKES work?? Will the REAR SUSPENSION hold up after 1000 km?? To instill customer confidence, maybe all Cherry Msia cars should come with a PUSPAKOM Health certificate as that will give Cherry customers complete peace of mind & reach their destinations in 1 piece!! BTW, how much did Cherry Msia pay you for this review???

The word Chery just looks weird and don't sound premium. I understand it's the name of the brand, but if they want to sell well, just use the logo instead of the name Chery at the back and on the steering wheel.

Erm not really. With Chery’s reputation shortly tarnished worse off than Proton currently , this is not much to be a worry for X70 anytime soon.

Well done Chery! Because of you we only realized that we get cheated with the Proton all the time with the expensive car price, old & bored design and outdated plus unreliable powertrain. Proton, If you still continue with this type of business strategy then you will bye bye soon.... if want to keep survive pls provide us the new 4 cylinder turbo or non-turbo engine for your car, we dont want the rubbish dump tech 3 cylinder engine anymore...and pls make the ADAS as standard across the range of your car.
