@@Chockster612this… dealerships are not willing to budge on pricing in my area as well. Very interesting what I see online vs what is in person at a dealer.
I wish it was a hybrid instead of a pure EV. I also wish it had a spare tire. If $299 a month for 24 months with no money down was the price for every buyer, it could be on my shopping list.
They leave out spare tires "to save weight and increase mpgs" but then put ginormous wheels on the thing which kills mpgs... I hate this trend. Otherwise, great review as always, Muzios killin it.
@@kelviskelvis7140 mpgs is interchangeable with whatever metric evs use to calculate range/efficiency. same difference. smaller wheels will save electrons for evs like saving carbons for ice.
iPhone household here too... and also one of us (me!) loves his shortcuts and automations through car play too (even the silly ones that welcomes us home or plays messages based on locations in the city etc) I would simply not buy a vehicle without it...
GM was recently caught selling personal driving data to insurance companies. I wonder if the no-CarPlay policy was to make sure they get all your driving data.
Ford does the same, but ford owns the insurance company and uses the data collected to provide to other insurance companies free as a loophole.. so when you roll that stop sign they know. They can see when you send that text.. good luck on that..
@@MicahMuzioMy issue is they have a smart choice in the Equinox EV I’m not sure why they need another 2 row SUV for 10K more. The Traverse EV would’ve been the better move.
The Equinox ev is miles better. I just leased a 3LT for $450 a month that drives significantly better than the Blazer ev did. I think they got this all backwards.
@dennisknehans3206 I am equally unimpressed with Android Auto. I have had it in my new (used) GMC Acadia for a couple weeks now, and I generally find GMs UI superior with larger fonts and icons. Only reason I use AA is because my car doesn't have built in navigation, or spotify. If they where both native apps I'd never use Andriod Auto.
@@dennisknehans3206the people that’s complaining about not having apple CarPlay were never serious about buying an EV anyway. *gm* knows their target buyers better than anyone.
Exactly, you can't trust what you just from iPhone fans who happen to be car reviewers. They want to convince the audience that the experience is compromised and inferior
I respect some of the interior design choices (minus the gloss black) but the exterior is what a traverse would look like reflecting off a fun house mirror
I hate when people don’t know what they’re talking about. I have an iPhone and text messaging through the info. System works perfectly. You just have to turn it on in the settings in the car and on your iPhone
I've tried this car, and it’s a big "NO" for me. 1. The charging speed is extremely slow. 2. The Google-built system requires a $50 per month plan after the initial three-year offer from GM. 3. The RS model is too expensive for what it offers.
Its beautiful stylish and 'family friendly' It does not look EV-ish Some of the oversights you mentioned are surprising.🤨 A 2024 w/o android auto apple car play or super cruise?🤔
With the lease discounts on these, I briefly considered one until I was reminded that they don't include CarPlay. As long as there are manufacturers who sell cars with Carplay (or possible future successors to it from Apple), I won't buy one that doesn't have it.
I’m an Android user so the whole CarPlay thing is academic to me. But I don’t understand why GM gets bashed but I’ve yet to hear anyone who owns a Tesla or Rivian complaining about it. And why people don’t also blame Apple for not designing software that works across multiple platforms like Google does so well?
CarPlay user here. What I find insulting about GM not offering it is the audacity to lie to its customers saying they don't offer it is won't integrate will with the built in systems. But at the sometime I see a Chinese Cadillac Optiq walk through showing CarPlay on the main screen. So obviously their system will work with it. GM just be honest and tell your customers you want to capture all of the driver data to sell and you want to be able to sell subscriptions for services that should be included by using CarPlay and Android auto. Pure money grab.
We chose the Ariya over the Mach E, THE VW Ev, or a Tesla. It’s been a good vehicle so far, no maintenance so far and it’s 389hp and we see 250 mile range with charging it to 80%.
@@EmbarkTrailblazers I bought it as a 2023 model with 4500 miles on it and we payed $38k out the door. With an original window sticker price over $62k. If you are in the market for a non Tesla EV buy one that has very low miles and you will get a great deal.
I sat in this vehicle for a few minutes yesterday and now I got to say, the youngest Muzio has a real point when it comes to new car smells in some vehicles. That upholstery smell is so strong that it came home with me on my clothes then lingered in rooms of my house even after I changed clothes. If you’re ever looking for a cause for birth defects or maybe male pattern baldness, this GM volatile organic substance AKA seat material should be a suspect.
i think you hit the nail on the head! to get rid of phone projection is the worst idea ever and I think they will see that it does affect their sales of these vehicles. i have a gm sierra and it have apple car play thank god but if this shift carries on I will no longer be buying GMC.
Carplay is great but takes the infotainment away from the manufacturer. Personally, I don't care as I love my Android and can use Google Auto for all my needs. All without troublesome wireless or cables to connect the phone.
You're not wrong. If you're exclusively Apple for all your services it's not a great scenario. The majority of the world has a Google account. Even most iPhone users. There's only like a 6% difference between the operating systems nowadays anyway. I know everyone wants to be outraged but it's the difference between potato chips and just slightly different potato chips.
Lease, don’t buy. With the lease residual value agreed upon in the contract the customer won’t have the risk of runaway depreciation, a phenomenon this pile is likely to experience.
Idk I have a Tesla and they don’t have car play and it’s completely fine. Bluetooth is non issue, the gps the car comes with is great, and it has the music apps I use such as Apple Music 🤷🏽 I could see if it didn’t offer navigation or ways to listen to music/use your phone.. but it does
Evie: "You are the expert." Micah: "I am able to determine things that do not matter." Isn't that just being a good husband? Great car! I hope the Blazer EV is a big hit for GM.
LOL, nice to know that when Micah mentions Siri, my iPad comes to life. And yes, no CarPlay means no GM. I already pay for unlimited data, I won't write another cheque to Mary Bara
No Carplay is the least of the issues, there is just far too much hard plastic and surfaces. I mean it is colorful and that is a welcome change from a world of black and gray. Oddly we did not find the Lyriq all that better. GM has this issue where backseat passengers are a low priority and too many touch points are not nice
For CarPlay you need to get one of those CarPlay mirrors that go over your rearview mirror. It can transmit audio through Radio, BT, Or by it's own speakers. Problem solved. and yes....there are models that support **shudders in horror** crapdroid as well.
The no android auto/apple car play would be 100% a dealbreaker for me, and I know at least one person who feels the same. I have a friend that is also an apple/iphone user. She was looking at the Equinox EV. Once she found out apple carplay is not an option in the vehicle, it was immediately off the list. She's been looking at the prologue. Although it is the similar platform as the blazer, it has android auto/apple carplay. She is someone who drives 20+ miles each way to work and relies on many of the features that having apple carplay offers. I have an android phone. I would prefer not to log into my car for the features. I have a newer generation Subaru Forester. It has "profiles" for users. If my husband wants to use my car, he can just plug his phone in, and his data will be there. I have done multiple cross-state trips in my Forester. At times by myself. Being able to respond to a text message, add route changes, etc all while driving and just hitting a single button and using my voice is immeasurable. GM is thousands of units sold behind other manufacturers (like Toyota). Maybe it's not a good time to rock the boat and just give car buyers what they want.
You don't have to manually enter a destination in the navigation system. You can just tell it where you want to go. I have a Blazer EV RS AWD and I love it. I traded my Model Y for this vehicle and I do not miss it one little bit.
@suheelbashir1479 I tried carplay on my Lyriq and quickly realized the native apps work and mesh much better without carplay. We have dropped carplay usage on the Lyriq and our road trip experience with the Lyriq works better with the native apps.
Well that changes everything. Tesla has already proven you can be successful without it, the evidence is clear Other automakers are just scared to take this step, for now
11:00. I have a Blazer EV and an iPhone and I disagree with the text comment. If you turn on Google Assistant, an iPhone text WILL pop up on the screen. You then have the option to Play the text or Reply to it. I just say “Hey Siri” for most everything else and I can play / search Apple Podcasts, Apple Music, etc.
You are in no way wrong about Apple CarPlay. It is a MUST!! I don't get why GM has stopped Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and it's only in their EV's. Ice vehicles still get it.
GM is doing a money grab eliminating Apple Carplay/Android Auro. They thought, "Tesla can do it, why can't we?" The problem is their competitors are not following their lead. For example, the Honda Prologue, which is a near copy of this vehicle (same powertrain with the GM Ultium power pack) comes with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, and uses instead of GM's problem plagued software standard Google software instead with minor changes by Honda. So, if you want a better software package, Apple Car Play and Android Auto but the same GM hardware get the Honda Prologue. It will make you much happier than GM's car will over the long term.
I drive a Tesla. I love their navigation system, but their Message integration sucks. And their Apple Music app is clunky. I recently rented an ICE vehicle with Apple CarPlay and loved it. Far less distracting. I think GM missed a huge opportunity. An integrated navigation system is great for an EV because it will route you to charger and preheat the battery. But GM should have given the owners the option for phone projection. GM comes across as greedy for subscription fees, or feel they can be like Tesla. They should be like Hyundai/Kia and offer both.
The child seat anchor covers push your ass away from the bottom of the backrest so you end up slouching. 1 pedal driving way too aggressive. Forget ACP, AA should be seamless with the Google based car system. Engine choices? ans: 0. Or do you want a gas powered Blazer?
I'm all in on the EQUINOX ev. Fuck this car that's bigger than necessary making it slow and heavy. The equinox ev is where gm needs to put it's money. Not this mess.
@shethjones4494 6 more inches of wheelbase and that doesn't qualify? Also, when will you need a two row vehicle with that much wheelbase? They want it to feel like a limo, but at the end of the day you still have much less cargo space than ice based vehicles. The extra size isn't translating to usable space, so why accept something slower and more expensive? The cargo room is practically the same as the blazer too. Why accept something bigger, slower, and more expensive?
For what it costs and what other choices there are, people who buy this would not have bought anything else. GM relies on diehards to buy their mediocre products
Absolutely delusional. Mediocre but the best designed and largest displays, amongst the best software and semi autonomous driving tech, the best riding comfort, range/performance/space ratio and pretty attractive interior and exterior styling compared to everything else. *gm’s* has some big haters at this point.
More Apple propaganda from another American reviewer. There’s never any mention of the fact you don’t _need_ Apple’s CarPlay yet you make the fact the feature isn’t here the focus of your review? 🤔
A lot of people are bizarrely caught up on it. It's an okay feature, but not a deal breaker for me. I have it in my 22 Acadia, and I honestly just use the default GM UI most of the time. The only time I open Android Auto is for maps and to change playlists in spotify. If my Acadia had a Spotify app and Navigation, I wouldn't open Android Auto at all. EDIT: I am probably not the best example though, I thought the fact that my cars screen was "only" 8 inches was a good thing. I really only want it to display my backup camera, my maps and my music. I hate screens in cars, but I am not about to find a mid 2000s vehicle in good running order, with no rust and modern safety equipment any time soon.
this isn't propaganda at all lol.. a lot of people use carplay so much so why do you think about all new cars have it, i don't disagree about the fact that he didn't mention that you don't need carplay and could've added in the fact for android auto users a bit more but i wouldn't say this was the "main focus" of the review, there was more to the blazer than no carplay, carplay only got mentioned the most cause its a dealbreaker for so much customers
Your nitpick about the one pedal drive and the slight nudge after coming to a stop sums up the nature of your *gm* reviews perfectly. You nitpick everything and are clearly biased towards some competitor of theirs, or just plain silly and thinks hating on *gm* makes you seem authentic. I’ve unsubscribed.
To be fair, Micah does that test on every vehicle he drives. Go watch his other ones on EVs, and even ICE cars. He is picky about his brake feel and stops. As a reviewer, he can speak to people that are particular about that.
@@shethjones4494 you don't have to be upset about iPhone users not wanting to get an EV without Apple CarPlay. There are other options for them from Ford, VW, Honda, Kia/Hyundai, and Volvo. People that don't need CarPlay will do fine with Tesla and GM. There are options for everyone.
