The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV is an all electric alternative to the gas powered compact SUV, bringing sleek styling and quite an impressive amount of technology for the price point. This one that we are driving is an upper tier 3RS FWD trim...but eventually when the base 1LT arrives, it will have a $27,495 price point with the potential tax credit. Regardless of trim level, you get 319 miles of electric range for the FWD model, a huge 17" infotainment screen shared with the much more expensive Blazer EV and Silverado EV, plenty of safety features and even GM's Super Cruise on higher trims. Join me for my first drive and review of the new Equinox EV!

This looks more like a mid=sized car rather than a compact car. I like it.

Chevy is genius how they are using the same infotainment screen across all their models. (Well, technically 2, since there is a 11-inch for small cars, and a 17-inch for larger.) I'm thinking that saves a ton of money in costs, and makes it easier and cheaper to replace if one goes bad. Plus, it looks great and you can tell they put a lot of work into the interface. Lack of Carplay on the electric models is silly though. I get that they want you to use the built in Google and it maps out charging stations, but give people the choice, ya know?

A highlight not mentioned by anyone as of yet, but this is GMs first vehicle that does not have a need to "press power" to turn on.. just simply put your foot on the brake and it powers on and turns off when you exit with the key fob. I hope GM doesn't fumble the football as usual.. but then again... Typical GM(i.e. CT6 Blackwing & Envoy XUV)

I’d have liked some reviews on the AWD. I’m a little surprised that GM started everyone with the FWD. I think that extra horsepower is going to be necessary.

I test drove the fwd yesterday. It felt more than adequate. I'll be getting an AWD for snow and mild off-roading, but I could easily live with the two wheel drive it those factors weren't relevant. It might be an issue for someone who already has a fast EV, but I don't think it will be a problem for the people transitioning from a combustion engine.

@@kenhiett5266 Yes, think you are probably right about that. I guess I probably should just say the extra horsepower will be necessary for me. And by necessary I mean that it’s just what I want. So first world kind of necessary.

Who is a genius at GM to decide not to put a option for a Bose Soundsystem in his vehicle literally give you the shittiest sound as possible

Great looking ev, these evs even in the 30s -40s price range are still too high and you don’t get leather seats. Just bought a 2018 Chevy Volt w/leather and heated seats for 19k. I get 51 ev miles and have not put any gas in the car as of yet had it for a month. I would like a full ev, but until the prices decrease and the infrastructure is better I’ll stick to a hybrid.

This honestly looks really good. Wasn’t a fan of the blazer EV. Such a bummer these don’t offer apple car play. I drive a bolt and heavily considering this or a model Y. I would have to drive both and see Love the color on this one too

It does look good and the price is relatively reasonable and decent range. Lack of Apple CarPlay makes zero sense, so I pass. But otherwise good try by GM that will see to Chevy typical customers.
@Frank71
@Frank71 3 месяца назад
The lack of Apple carplay is due to the fact that Apple won't share information with Chevy. It is needed to figure range, navigation, and which chargers are in range.

So you pass, but GM will see regular GM customers. So you are not really passing because you are not a regular GM customer. Therefore you have no intention of purchasing it.

This shown model is 45-47k. Not a chance compared to model Y dual motor. Equinox charges SLOW and no nacs. No FSD. No constant tech uodates. No frunk.

With 80% of US cell phone r iPhone, the car doesn’t offer that… it would discourage quite a lot of potential buyers.

I agree essentially but my understanding is you get 8 years of maps and a data plan for the apps for 3 years. So probably okay those who lease. My question is whether or not I can use my phone at as hotspot to conveniently run the google apps. I’m a little dubious of that as I know GM is going to want people on the their data plan.
