Fragrances are super subjective. If you sample something and don't like it....move on and try one of the other thousands of fragrances to smell. No need to hang around and hate on it so much. Look for one you can be positive about.

It amazes me how butthurt people get when they make a decision to purchase a fragrance and blame the reviewer or content creator when they don't like it. The spread of hate is due to bandwagon decision making. It is everywhere these days. Whether it's voting or a team winning and now with hating on something. Accountability lacks hard these days. Tried Forte at Macy’s & sales person gave me four vial testers. Ross is right, price is outrageous. The longevity is 10+ hours. The issue is projection is 2 inches.

Projection is 1 foot. The same as bleu de Chanel parfum. Although the sillage of eau forte is arms reach and you’ll get reminders of it. That’s what I experienced. Longevity is 9 hours. Sometimes 10. Projection lasts about 2 hours or less. Very mild to moderate. It’s the second weakness flanker in the Sauvage line. Behind the Parfum, which I love.

But nobody WANTED or asked for a water based jizz stain sauvage flanker and that’s where the disappointment and hate comes in..and for the price there charging for this piece of crap I think a little bit of hate is justified. Of course everybody wants something different and unique and new but not one person wanted a water based weird smelling fragrance with no projection whatsoever! It’s a complete letdown on dior and mfk’s part they dropped the ball plain and simple.

I do like most frags myself tbh, like...I'm fairly open with scents unless they smell incredibly off or just like a chemical mess that doesn't even resemble perfume, but nowadays that isn't really the issue, it's the performance (or lack thereof) x.x Also huge fan of that drip.

As far as Eau Forte, it just wasn't what I wanted out of a Sauvage fragrance. I might've liked it a lot more if it wasn't in the Sauvage line.

Definitively agree: the biggest mistake was for Dior to add it to the Sauvage line. Would be better receive in a new line .. and also priced more reasonably. Different scent profile (Dior Elixir is also quite different) but mostly being water based is what makes it not fit at all.

Its funny im gonna guess half the people that bought it never researched or knew the meaning of "Eau Forte" water based. In addition, it was probablly a huge surprise especially with the residue left behind which is why I sample/research before I buy.

Sauvage Eau Forte... Really really like the opening. I smelled it in a local store here in Denmark 2-3 days ago. Got 2 solid sprays on the top of my right hand. Smells fantastic, decided to go home and maybe go buy it the next day. I did not. It was very very faint on my hand after about 3 hours, and gone after 4, so decided to pass on it for now.

My problem with eau Forte wasn't the scent profile. I actually like the scent profile the most out of the 6, next to very cool spray. My issue with it is off me it's a personal scent off the bat and as I'm going about my day, it disappears. It's technically still there when I put where I sprayed it up to my nose but I want to catch wafts without having to look for it

Hope you've been enjoying the cooler weather! Albeit rainy and ugly, but it's been very comfortable here in PCB. Got to pull out some bottles I haven't worn in a while, and even some new samples! Alas, nothing lasts forever and I'll be back to freshies next week for another month or two :/

The Dior Sauvage Forte, I have not tried it. I cannot speak on that. The only thing I have from that lineup is Sauvage EDP. That one to me is a sleeper. I reach for that one when I want something different from what I typically wear. Smells good, performance is decent, but the price they are asking, kind of a deal breaker for me. If there is a cologne being discussed that I am not too wild about, I'm going to get into why it didn't work for me, and leave it at that. If I like something, I'm going to get into why it works for me, and that too will be what it is. My personal views on the product either way. Is there really a reason to hate? No. There's just some fragrances that work out well for me, and others that don't. That's a matter of personal tastes, and chemistry. It's literally nothing more than that. Keep cranking out these excellent reviews Ross!

Eau Forte is a really intriguing scent, it keeps drawing me back… performance on a paper strip is great, it also smells fresher on paper… on skin it’s still awesome, performance is fine (EDT quality)… but it is overpriced. Hopefully Dior will offer an alcohol version to go with the O.G. E.F.

Somedays I wonder if certain lines, like Spicebomb, have maybe run their course and it's time for V&R to introduce a new line. Then I remember that perhaps my favorite designer line, Boss The Scent, has like 27 flankers, with the new ones being pretty damn good. 🤷‍♂️

I can't speak on Eau Forte since I've only sampled it on a tester card(admittedly i didn't think oh i gotta have this but it wasn't terrible), but the other 3 in this video are great fragrances. I get good longevity from Spicebomb Dark Leather. It may not project quite as much as some of the others but I literally smell it the next day. Same with K Intense. I absolutely love the fig note in K Intense. Y Elixir is an absolute MONSTER performer. I do agree that the listed notes are a bit misleading on Y Elixir, and it's definitely not worth 160 or whatever for 2 ounces, but it's still a great fragrance.

I got to test Dior Sauvage Eau Forte in a store. I don't get the hate. A nice , green and fresh fragrance. It kept the same projection for hours and lasted a long time. Some people live to hate i guess... YSL Y Elixir is nothing short of a cash grab...❤❤👏🏼👏🏼

Sauvage Eau Forte isn’t the best release of this year. But I still like it. Just wished it wasn’t water based. As the alcohol brightens things up and helps with performance a bit. Now I will say, the performance is still pretty solid for it being water based. This proves that it is possible to create a water based fragrance that can work.

I agree with you. Everyone has a different experience when it comes to fragrances. Never blind buy if you can help it. Get samples at a store or buy samples and then test it out before investing in a bottle. If you buy a clone, it’s a chance you’re taking. It’s a hit or miss situation.

Sauvage Eau Forte is a solid scent but it is far too pricey for what it is. The performance (or lack thereof) is also grossly exaggerated as I get around 6hrs of longevity out of it from the sample I received which is a lot better than what most have been saying about it. Big up yourself Ross for keeping it real🤙

I fucking love the new Dior Eau Forte! I get a little Prada Luna Rossa Black vibe! Pepper and musky, but more spicy and loud! I really dont understand all the hate, but I DGAF! Longevity for me with Eau forte is 6+ hours, minimum! Great release, poor haters, period! And great videos!! 💯🦾

if Sauvage Eau Forte was 120-150 retail and around 100 in discounters people would love it. I loved the fragrance profile and on myself it was a sillage bomb for 4 hours (i moved my arm and caught whiffs of it for a long time) and lasted 8 hrs at least. i think it gets hate because it is very different from the other sauvages (though i do still get some of the sauvage dna, but most people will only see it as very different), and because of the price which is crazy when comparing to previous entries.

I think the biggest problem we have in this community are the people that were never taught to think for themselves. I wish Jeremy and Curly didn't have the influence over so many insecure people because their content is so cringe to me. You, Ashton, Justin, Cuba and Neeb are my 5 main channels. I don't do TikTok, which is probably even more toxic than YT. The level of excess consumerism that is tacitly supported is wild. Your point is spot on. Who -made- them buy it? I’m a brand ambassador for Dior fragrances and I’ll say in the beginning I didn’t like the new Sauvage but it’s grown on me alot and I love the scent profile and the idea behind it it’s not for everyone it is expensive most clients aren’t huge fans of the fragrance yet but once he dries down after a few minutes people do enjoy the smell of it but like l said it’s not for everyone ! P.s the 3.4 is $193 & 2.0 $160 just Something else to keep in mind

Sauvage eau Forte definitely isn't a 30 minute scent. I sprayed it on my hand at Dillard's washed my hands with dish soap and I smelled it for hours.

Sauvage has 3 perfectly great options already in the line. I love sauvage and my girl likes it.. i tried the new one at macys and it wasnt for me. Im guessing it was created simply for people with skin alergies since the line is so wildly succesful they can afford to reach out to a minority... which is cool imo. I assume the toxic hate is folks fearing that if this sells well that in 2025 and 2026 instead of getting great flankers all the brands will start putting out a bunch of water-based flankers.... so they are trying to make it not successful. Isnt there more margin in a water-based fragrance? Especially at the stupid pricepoint they are charging? So if that were to become successful id assume more brands would do it for that reason
