2024 Dongfeng M-Hero 917 in-depth Walkaround
The 2024 Dongfeng Mengshi M-Hero 917 stands out as an electric vehicle boasting four motors, each dedicated to one wheel, culminating in an impressive total output of 1,088 horsepower and 1,400 Nm of torque. With such formidable power, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds while offering a combined range of 800 km. The 917's design exudes ruggedness, featuring armor-inspired air vents and a visually striking "armored" appearance surrounding the central screen. Within the cabin, touches of luxury are evident, notably with wood grain design elements adorning the central console.
This remarkable vehicle comes in two distinct versions: the pure EV variant and the EREV variant. The pure EV iteration boasts four electric motors, each independently powering a wheel and enabling unique capabilities such as a crab walk maneuver. In contrast, the EREV model incorporates a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine generating 145 kW (197 hp), which in turn powers three motors. With a battery capacity of 65.8 kWh, the EREV version can achieve a pure electric range of 200 km (120 mi). Notably, the internal combustion engine (ICE) in the EREV variant serves solely as a generator, charging the battery and directly providing power to the electric motor, without engaging with the wheels themselves.
