I LOVE your base model reviews. I Have a 2022 Elantra Essential (auto) in Cyber Grey that I bought after watching your review on it. I mainly bought it because it was the cheapest "real" car you could buy new in Canada other than a Chevy Spark or Mitsubishi Mirage. In may 2022 I paid $22,600 out the door with 0.99% interest. At that price the value couldn't be beat. Constantly get over 40 mpg (us) . I track every fill up. My best was 53.62mpg or 4.39L/100km. 10.066L to go 243kms
I bought my 2023 civic mainly cuz hyundai waiting time was crazy and I needed a car asap my interest is at 5.1% the day after I put the my name on the next car the rates went up and I live in Canada
Hi, can I ask a question - what do you think of the ground clearance of the elantra, 5.4 inches, have you ever felt it's too low for certain road conditions?
Thanks for the review! There seems to be a lot of improvement made this year. Like additional Usb type C ports. Please do post a review of preferred sun and tech variant whenever you get your hands on it.
Thank you very much for these videos, Ed! There are not a lot of youtubers doing base trim reviews unfortunately. Also, I would like to kindly ask you to share a video of Corolla le vs Elantra base trim video if possible. I am looking for a compact sedan and need to make a choice btw two, so if you could, that would be awesome to watch. Thanks again for this channel!
I've looked at the pricing sheets and didn't see this indicated but in this video very clearly shows that the new 2024 Elantra SE has heated seats. Is that the case with all of the 2024 Elantra SEs? I'm just confused as to why they would included that in the base model and then make you pay for it in the convenience package for the SEL.
two questions please. How low is it getting in and out of the car? Does that little divider thing between the front seats prevent people from holding hands or touching one another while going on a long drive? Thanks
Yes absolutely, that's actually pretty much the most common use for Android auto. 🙂 Check out my android auto tips video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YA-npNvRWTQ.htmlsi=DIvK1t8Uj4CuGt2p
You're definitely right about the amazing mileage on these cars.. I drove my 2023 essential down to florida from quebec and got 62.2 mpg on a 200 mile section of U.S.13, which is a quiet and flat back road. I set my odometer to miles and went the 55mph speed limit.. hitting very few red lights at night time.. so this was exceptional.. but even on the interstate at 65mph, I got crazy good mileage. Btw, 62.2 mpg is 3.78 litres per 100 clicks. And it was even higher than that on the first half before I hit any red lights.. 67 or 68 mpg if I recall.. anyways, I was so impressed, I kept a pic of my info screen showing it. 😂
Hi, can I ask a question - what do you think of the ground clearance of the elantra, 5.4 inches, have you ever felt it's too low for certain road conditions?
@@David_Liu93 Yes.. there have been times when I scraped the bottom of the front end.. but mostly from going over large speed bumps too fast. My elantra had 15 inch tires, so that was a contributing factor. I traded in my Essential for an N line (17 inch tires) this past July, and so far I don't have that problem anymore.
I just bought a 2024 Elantra base a few days ago. I wish mine had heated seats and fog lights lol. It’s a great car, very comfortable and great on gas!! I was surprised all the safety feature come equipped on it
Generally it's smaller companies that do it... If you were near where I live, I'd suggest "United auto interiors" or "certified auto" But they only have a handful of locations
Did u get a chance to get a glimpse of the the elantra 2024 preferred WITHOUT TECH package ? if so did it have the same odometer as this essential's or different?
Please post more videos when you receive the other trims! I think you're the first in canada to receive these. I am very curious about the Preferred + tech and luxury
I had the 2021 Elantra SEL Convenience Pearl White I complained about the Halogen headlamps being too dim at night I’m glad the new 2024s now has standard LEDs, good job Hyundai.
I'm glad I saw this video. Almost ordered a 2024 Elantra SE in the US and I didn't realize they changed the instrument cluster. That rpm readout sucks.
I find the digital speedometer to be much easier to read on a quick glance. If it were a manual transmission, sure then an analog tach is preferred. But for an auto? Meh....
😢waaaaaahhh, my 2023 Preferred Sun Tech is no longer the latest greatest. I like the front end on the 2024 more than my 2023. Thanks for the review, and I BTW, we enjoyed your EV across Canada vids as well
I heard that if you choose tech package on preferred or the line above with 10.25 in display you lose wireless apple carplay/ android auto. Is this true?
That used to be the case, as there was a disagreement between Google, Apple and Hyundai as to what the "Map" button would do. However, it seems they've sorted that out. So as I understand it, wireless Android auto/CarPlay will now finally be standard in future Hyundais.
@@edsgarage001 are those small lights below the head light are the turn signal or the one right beside are the ones? Other videos that seems like from Europe, or US have a bit different design for same base trim that quite confuses me.
@@edsgarage001thank you for the answer, I found from other videoes thay the Elantra 2024 SEL model which I assume equivalent to preferred+tech pkg in here Canada are showing where the day light LED is located, but the preferred+tech still had same turn signal like essentials. Does Hyundai provide different designs depends on country?
Those are the turn signals... They're kept low in order to prevent the headlight from effectively washing them out... AND so that they're more visible in fog. But they're not fog lights.
@@edsgarage001 oh ok so kind of like the new refresh of the Hyundai Kona how they have the lights separate. ok thanks for clearing that up because when I went to the Hyundai website to look at the model you reviewed I didn't even see the turn signal light the whole area was just cladding
Oh, I think I see what you're referring to. So, a "digital" instrument cluster is standard, but only with digital numbers and a small 4.2" LCD screen in the center. The full 10.25" LCD digital screen is in the tech package and up.
Peut on avoir des pneus et mags plus grand pour ce Hyundai , j’ai une Hyundai Elantra essentiel 2024 mais je trouve que les pneus standard sont trop petit
The top trim on the Elantra has 18" wheels... So yes, you can definitely get a larger wheel size. But you are not able to do that from factory, you would need to buy them separately.
The back huge black bumper is so ugly! Basic essential model is only for drive test. Shame of Hyundai. My 2023 essential model ordered at Jan has not been fulfilled yet!
