Yes indeed… Loewe imagined how absolutely brilliant it would be to have Dame Maggie Smith be one of it’s new brand ambassadors. When that fabulous image of her in a fur coat, looking straight into the camera while clutching a medium sized black puzzle bag… Well I was so blown away by the image that I went out and had it blown up in large format and it is now hanging in my studio making me happy every time I look at it. ❤️

Thanks for the feedback. I’m glad we’re moving away from the showy designer bags. I always loved a well made leather Italian well structured bag with nice hardware much better than Gucci’s , Fendi logo bags etc. what’s crazy is I got rid of all my logo designer bags and they came back. I just started wearing wide leg jeans and now they’re out??? I can’t win in this fashion trend game so I’m gonna just wear what I want to.

Karen is right on for this video. Im smaller in stature so the slimmer leg, smaller glasses and lots of unique singular rings on every finger. The classic loafers, low chanel sling backs etc. Back to the smoother classic you know who you are kind of look. Its working for me and im in ATLANTA!! Good one Karen!!!!

Michael is NEVER going to wear a women's halter top under his suit jacket...even if it has a "men's" tag. I'm never going out on the arm of a man wearing one either. But, would I go out on the arm of a woman wearing a men's suit? Absolutely. It's a double standard I can stand behind.

I always love your videos and how you share and put fashion into context. Personally, I am always interested in what's happening, what's new, however, I never follow trends. I wear what fits me well, is well made and is comfortable and try to buy sustainably (vintage, recylcable fiber content, never made in china). I love statement pieces in shoes, handbags, jewelry. I often (ok, always) change buttons on my coats, blouses, pants, etc. for something that pops/artsy/weird/funny. Anyhow, just sharing. I also love how Michael has become so comfortable with being in these videos, you are just the cutest couple!

My first makeup set was from Lancome, and specifically curated from a Vogue page, using almost every item from the photo caption that Isabella Rossolini had worn on her face on the shoot. She was my inspiration. I still have the set to this day, as a keepsake. Amazing brushes, amazing cosmetics. They definitely are a cosmetic staple but companies don’t make products these days the way they used to.

I love wide leg trousers especially, though I have been looking for a straight cut jean that flatters, but they end up being too tight on the thigh in one size, then when I go up, just not flattering at all. Tricky ones for me, and I would say I am on the slim side. And the platforms, I love my loafers with a little platform. Where am I going to get that little extra height from now

I grew up watching the black and white films here in the UK - think Ms Lauren Bacall and I just thought it was so chic, so these and the cigarette trousers are my staples - plus platform trainers or loafers because I am height challenged 🤣

Karen you are absolutely spot on. Fashion is changing big time and most of the people on RU-vid and Instagram will be gone as all they do is getting stuff and advertise stuff to make people consume more and more without any individuality. They are like shopping channels nothing more. All of them say the same words, have the same video background…. Boring !!!! You are different so please stay that way. Fake lips and huge fake bums are gone, hair extensions are gone, perfect bodies are gone…. There is a huge change coming…

Setting is great! Comfy! Yes, agree concerning whats ahead in fashion. Love the mix. We all how a feeling coming to where we all are worldwide today. Politic wise, mother earth is trembling with chaos and that goes in our everyday living tryin to take care of what we have. Meaning pre-loved vintage etc is what we really want to grasp for saving mother earth health. Seeing whats already out there and appreciate yesterday classic fashion that never gone out of style. Ex Diana Ross/YSL collab! Agree, should have happened years ago. Wish Lauren Hutton, my favorite, comes along with some great label, seeing her as a greatunisex person with lust for life-image. Hey there Karen..Sounds like folks just need to wear what's in their closets and adding a fashion spin maybe to a few pieces if they want to get creative. I'm all for the classics like the Aviators and straight legged pants, I prefer a straight legged anyways. I'm actually a very conservative person so all of these simplistic styles are definately up my alley.

Loved this… I am just coming into the baggy look…. And now it’s going more towards not fitted.. but not as baggy.. I find the speed of change in clothing design is getting a bit out of hand and saturated.. hence the thrifting increasing so we can be more individual with our style and not necessarily bound to trends… I Love Mens wear.. it’s difficult for me to find men’s wear because I am 5’4 “ and I have a small frame… I can wear men’s T.shirts and jumpers and vests though.. gosh the competition in the design market now is fierce… To be noticed you almost have to be outrageously different or extremely gifted .. That’s my take on it 🫶

Love the idea of the older ambassador , just because I am 69 I am not dead . still love fashion but I agree I hate branding on everything , I do not want to do their advertising for them I am and have always been a jeans and T'shirt girl , dress up with all the accessories ,big, jewellery, boots ,bags with NO logos. well tailored jacket , good to go .

The concept of quiet luxury, for me anyway, has always invoked images of women who bought great quality from the beginning, fabric, fit, finish. They were not followers, but today are the ones the 20, 30, 40-somethings are inspired by. Finally, design houses understand, quiet luxury is NOT a trend, is NOT the domain of utubers and influencers, but has always been there, quietly stylish, chic, elegant even when casual. Time to put a face on that, Diana, Maggie, Isabella, Carmen. Jackie O epitomized it all ❤

1st choice is secondhand, not necessarily all items but pretty close. Amazing what people waste. I'm not for showing name brand. Besides if they're not paying me to be a living model why should I be a live billboard for any name brand. Karen! I love your videos! Got started on them with the what everyone is wearing New York series. I would like to give a little feed back on the new camera with auto tracking and centering for short distance/sit down videos. It was quite a bit distracting having the frame move every few seconds (literally!) as you’re gesturing. Because this is a stationary video where you’re ONLY talking to the camera, having you be perfectly center in the frame every moment isn’t quite necessary and is over kill on production. The things in the foreground (your glasses, the black candle holder?) kept drawing my eye every time the camera adjusted to include more of them. While the technology is really useful and interesting, perhaps it’s more suited for try ons where you may be walking/far away from the lens (and the foreground doesn’t have things quite close to the lens) or where the background is moving (you’re walking down the street) as it won’t feel like I’m being moved just a little bit every moment. I hope this comment is helpful, as that’s my intention. It was truly distracting enough for me to write this comment 😬 appreciate your style, commentary and hard work no matter what! ❤

Agree with everything. I have been wearing basic tshirts, jeans, leather jackets for years. Prefer to have no name leather bags. Wear Rayban shades. No jewellery…except for summer. I only invest in watches, scarves and perfumes. One pair of each kind of shoes for the occassion…everything no name, comfortable and leather again ;)

Rock n Rollers wore women’s clothing such as feminine blouses or scarves, presumably their girlfriends or lovers. Prince also enjoyed wearing feminine styles such as the pussy bow blouses and high heels. I think real fashion is an individual statement but I see how trends happen…typically from an individual’s POV.

Yes! Agreed with everything in this video. Great Job Karen. As a Brit myself I agree wholeheartedly about inclusion. Saint Laurent are setting the pace and I love them for it. Only wish Tom Ford would follow as they are both my pinnacle brands. As a senior beauty I would love to walk for Saint Laurent…. Enjoy LA xx
