Fiat started manufacturing cars since 1895 much earlier than even VW and came with the first race car by the time VW just begun the process of producing automobiles
i absolutely love fiats, i live in the u.s. My first car was a little red fiat, and my second vehicle was a 2015 ev fiat. I like them a ton because they're just so weird and quirky, but they do it in a way that is stylish. I really want to continue owning a fiat, even just as a secondary fun car, but I feel like they really need to commit and find a niche to fill. Right now, the entry level sub compact ev market is up for the taking, it's insane they don't capitalize on it. like legitimately, 52,000 for ANY car that offers this range, and level of materials, etc, is going to flop regardless of brand or design. The chevy bolt here in the u.s has 270 MILES OF RANGE, at 27,000$. There is no way they are going to compete with that, paying almost 200% more you still receive plastic molded interior, less range, and essentially just a different design language. To top it all off, fiat has no where near the support and repairability of something like chevy, that's a big deal because getting them serviced will be annoying and too proprietary. with all this being said, this car looks freaking awesome, especially because I really like the retro look of fiats but this modernizes it tastefully. The interior looks wonderful and has the same charm, if this car wasn't so absurdly unreasonable and unrealistic to financially purchase, I would have definitely insta bought it. I hope they reintroduce the abarth in 2025 or something, as a gt/sporty EV with the same look and feel of the OG abarth
You're not wrong that fiat should really be finding a way to lower that price but this reviewer is in Australia and he's using Australian dollars so that 52k is more like 33k. It's estimated the new 500e is going to cost around 30k usd in America since that's around what it costs in other markets.
Fiat is selling to their target market who would buy a Mini EV, Peugeot 208 EV (coming soon), Mercedes A class or BMW 1 series. So its difficult to compare it to the Corolla hybrid or MG EV in terms of next-gen economy cars. This is next-gen luxury compact.
This is not a luxury or up market car and neither is a 208 EV. Not sure why you are using the term 'next-gen' in general, let alone on a model that is now nearly 4 years old. Stop spewing bs lol. To buy this over a BYD Dolphin Premium is to waste over $10k AUD.
I’d never own one, only driven one once and everything about me was questioned, but I’ve always had a soft spot for the Fiat 500. I’d purposely visit Italy so I can freely drive one 😊
Over $50000 for a small toy car 40% the size of an MG4 which can churn them out at $39000 - April Fool! Imagine how many they would sell if priced at $30000
That's what I was thinking. Over $50,000 for such a tiny car with a range of 250 KMs real world driving. And a crappy 3 yr warranty. That's awful value, hardly the good value that was stated in the review. And to think I bought a brand new, fully loaded Stinger GT for just $10,000 more. And more than double the warranty.
@@CathodeRayNipplez I just checked and the Stinger GT costs $66,500 full price. Not the $80, 000 you claim. There is no way anyone is going to buy this useless, limited range micro car for a whopping close to $60,000. It can only take 2 people realistically, take very little luggage and is only a car for local city driving. This is the sort of car that had strong appeal after WW2 for cheap motoring.
You're comparing a gas vs EV, EV's are a SCAM and always cost more and nice job bumping up $52k to "close to $60k". Plus $66,500 for a Ka-Ka-Kia Pet that can burst into flames isn't a complete rip -off? A KIA toy car...$66,500?? You gotta be f ' in kidding me@@tomy8339
With many new electric compact city cars about to hit the market with far better space & specs for $40,000. or less, I can't see Fiat keeping this model for very long. Their newer Panda EV might be a better choice if it is priced to compete but for my money the Vauxhall Corsa, VW I.D. 3, MG4, Kia EV3 etc. would all make a far more sensible choice.
Great 👍🏼 Review - you praised it over 30 times… Yet your title says “Did not meet my expectations” What 😑 Also - does the Aussie Accent now include constant use of Vocal Fry in all registers? It seems a bad habit
Wow Listening to you is exhausting. You go from soft to yell and to vocal fry scream in each sentence. Too much soy in your latte perhaps but I liked the review. Ill watch one more and see if I can get used to your bizzare delivery.
I just bought wipers from Wipertech with your code🤪 for my Fiat 500C. Am buying this 500e next year once ive saved. I love Fiat too much, i could never leave them
The design is good… that’s it. $50k+ for a smaller than practical car, Electric vehicle, from a company known for poor reliability, with a lacking 3yr warranty 😂
