Ecoboost have proven just to be as reliable or better than the 5.0. Rather have the turbo than cylinder deactivation as well. 5.0 does sound way better.
@tboe-cr8pz Read about how the cylinder deactivation works on a Ford. Much different than GM or any other manufacturers. It won'tbe a problem. @tboe-cr8pz
I’m willing to bet 98% of cam phaser issues have been on ecoboost. I have a 2013 f150 5.0 as well original owner 156k and no issues still. Also own a 2018 expedition and cam phasers got replaced at 30k. Do some research and you will find that the 3.5 has been a major issue since introduced
Great review, best 2024 F150 Lariat review out there! I learned more from your video about the truck features and buttons than I have owning & driving one for a couple months. Thank you!
Wow! Great job dude. I'm shopping right now and have watched dozens of F150 videos and yours was by far the best. Great info in a timely manner. The "pop up" option screen shots were SO FREAKIN HELPFUL!!! THanks again!
You're right about the 3:73 rear . . . I ordered a new '74 Firebird Formula and since I ordered almost all options, it had to be assembled with a 3:08 posi rear. I had it changed to the 3:73 and WOW . . what a difference. In 1980, I drove that car from Maryland to California and back - it didn't get very good gas mileage - but I had a lot of fun.
I bet lol.. 3.08 to 3.73 is a huge jump. I could see that making a big difference Im about to go from the 3.73's to 3.91's in my Camaro.. Im thinking that'll even be a big jump
Sounds even better in SPORT mode. I have a 2021 F-150 Black Ops in Antimatter Blue. When to 2024 Black Ops comes out around September or so that will be the review you will need to do in Antimatter Blue!!!
After testing (RU-vid Getty Adventures), the 5.0 actually gets better fuel economy with the 3.73 than 3.31 rear axle. The 10 speed transmission is a game changer and allows the 3.73 to keep the 5.0 in it's optimal power/economy curve. I have added a 2024 Raptor to my 2023 Platinum and 2023 Tremor lineup Mr. Kenny!! Thank you for another great video and let me know if you want latest info on my 2023 Platinum/Lightning Whipplecharged build. God Bless!!!
Great N/A American V8 engine. Great souding engine, very good interior. I would choose it with this engine but with Tremor trim. Great review as always. Greetings
Why? Ford finish the bed for this much money!! More tie downs, storage in side walls! Plugs! A full lining! A bed cover! Complete tow package all set up. These trucks should be turn key ready to go. Customers should not have to keep spending to complete the truck.
I have a 22 F150 with the 5.0l and 3.73 gears and it does plenty good for me I would never say it's as fast or good at towing. Maybe comparable to the first gen 3.5l ecooboost in the steel body 11-14 trucks.
Great review Kenny! That is a really nice truck as it's packaged and for sure would go with the 5.0. I agree with you that I think Ram made a huge mistake taking away the 8s ever though the turbo 6s are so powerful. Hope that you are doing great!
If you had to choose between a Lariat or an XLT with upgraded leather seats. What would be the better buy, and what features besides leather would the XLT not have
Man, if this was a 2023 model, I'd say the XLT.. But now that Ford changed the front end of the XLT, I'd have to go with the Lariat. I like the way the Lariat's DRL's/front fascia looks better than the XLT. Feature wise, the XLT will give you everything you want/need. So if you have some extra cash, I'd say get the Lariat. If you're on a budget and looking for the most value, I'd go XLT. The Lariat is going to give you Blue Cruise (Hands Free Driving), ACC, Center fold down arm rest in the rear, more optional features, LED taillights, etc
@JT012 everything aftermarket, EVERYTHING will say will not work on Tremor because I been buying over 8k worth of stuff for mine. So enjoy it as it comes from factory
That remote start is amazing compared to my Tacoma. On the Tacoma you have to monkey with the key fob for like 10 minutes in a very specific fashion pressing the lock button three times very slowly and then as soon as you open the door of the truck the truck dies. That's okay I'll wave at this F-150 10 years from now passing the junkyard😅 JK! I like F-150 trucks
