Indispensable and timely for me! THANKS ! Mine's coming and still intranet to my Dealer who will do a Whipple SC on it. We need to help eachother so here's my price and so you know! Can't wait! 4X4 and SC the take home price is $58,365! I'm turning 75 soon and so this is My LAST Chance at a "Yanko, Motion Performance or Mr. Norm as Grand Spalding Dodge" TYPE Factory sponsored vehicle! That's what THIS is today in case you haven't realized it yet! My firs New car was a 1968 Road Runner, 383, 4sp and 3.55 post! Muscle cars were EVERWHERE!
ive been eyeing them BAD, esp since i work at a ford dealer and can get it all at cost. SO tempting, but the wife wouldnt like that with kids, even though i have a second car haha
Sport does not add power it makes the throttle tip-in more aggressive as well as the shifting changes. I have a 2017 2.7 RCSB and use sport most all the time except in wet and cold weather. Initially I referred to sport as schizophrenic mode!
Thanks for the videos. I had a 1999 F-150 with the 4.6L V8 and a 5-speed manual. It was 2wd and compared to the Coyote probably seriously down on power but it was a blast. I sold it because we started having kids and couldn't fit but one more person or child safety seat inside it, being the 2 door truck. I'm currently driving a SS Camaro with the 6.2L, love my V8, and I Pull a trailer when I need it to be a truck, but it's basically a two seater. I have been thinking about this model and putting a FP700 package on it. That would net me a truck and wouldn't be hurting for straight line performance. I'm so sick of car dealers though I haven't investigated any further than the thought. I'm pretty sure you have to order the standard cab from the factory though so I wouldn't have to sit in the Damn dealership except for taking delivery. Again thanks for the videos! Great truck and price is more reasonable than other trucks out now, AND it still has the 8 cylinder!
Your welcome and yea it was pretty easy to order and pickup - watch out if you trade in something some dealers try to use that to their advantage if you order because they know you really want it come delivery time and might try to mess with you on the trade value.
Yes, sports mode perks it up, but you need to stop playing and get a custom flex fuel tune. All Motor Research Labs or an OZ tune. With the 5L F150 you don't need 10 different tunes. "I got an 87 tune, and a 91 tune, and a 93 tune, and a E85 tune, and a 87 tow tune, and a 91 tow tune, etc." If your tuner wants to do that with your 5L truck, then go elsewhere. 5L F150 (not 5L Mustang or F150 Ecoboost, only F150 5L) is flex fuel from the factory. Look at your gas cap. It will be yellow indicating that it's flex fuel and will run happily on E85 even when stock. If your gas cap is black then it's not factory flex fuel. So take advantage of the truck factory flex fuel setup, and get it custom flex fuel tuned, which is self learning, and will self adapt to what's in you tank, or adapt to whatever kind of load you're putting on the engine. (towing, climbing mountains, drag racing, etc) AMRL and OZ are your most popular tuners for these trucks, and for good reason, they do custom flex tunes, where most every other tuner including Lund want to do octane or tow/performance specific tunes, but that's because they're use to tuning Mustangs and whatnot that aren't factory flex fuel vehicles. Aren't you a Dodge guy? This truck with only a tune and E85 will outrun your Challenger Scat Pack. With nothing else but a tune and E85 this is a low 12 second truck that will trap well over 110 MPH. catback adds soumd but little to no performance increase. Longtubes and midpipes with better cats does add performance. The intake manifold is another area that adds big performance on these trucks without going boosted.
Nice ! I didn’t know about the sport mode lol. Got one just like it about two weeks ago. Would you be able to send the link to the running boards please ? Thank you!
Now congrats! I think I actually ended up getting them on eBay they were a little cheaper www.ebay.com/itm/225246187002?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=jPMo-CVnToG&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=XTcbXQrWRCO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Seriously considering buying this XL truck. Question, since you covered the bed in this Part 2 segment, have you looked into getting a 110v outlet installed? I don't see that as part of any package in the build out options. Don't know if it's even possible, but it would be nice to have a outlet in the rear of the bed. Thanks for sharing and best of luck with this new truck.
With a 6 speed Manual you are always in sport mode. Ford dropped the ball, this truck needs a 6 speed Manual Option the same one that's in the Mustang, Ford would sell a million and they already have the parts,.....
