It's nice that you didn't just look at the typical things, Bavaria, Salzburg, Berlin... there are a lot of beautiful things to discover in the "new" federal states. I come from Nuremberg and visited these federal states in 1990 and it was really beautiful there. I have already visited some interesting places there. Dresden, Berlin, Erfurt Leipzig Magdeburg, Schwerin, the Baltic Sea coast and the Mecklenburg Lake District. Nuremberg and Franconia are of course also very beautiful. Good food, beer and wine... what else do you need?
