Outstanding video. Both are trucks I would consider; I am buying at the end of 2024. Informative. As always, thank you for sharing payload. Very important variable for anyone wanting to haul gear, passengers, trail tongue weight, etc.
When I got ready to buy a truck for my grandson I looked at both trucks. I thought that the front of the Colorado was hideous. He is driving the Canyon and he absolutely loves it.
I like the aggressive design of the canyon at4. I don't like the headlights being in the Infotainment Display. Wish that was just a stand alone feature to adjust. Kinda wish the gmc had a push button rear lockers.
I bought a 2024 canyon a couple of months ago. The headlight thing was a big issue in videos and reviews, but my lights stay on auto and I haven’t even used the light changes
In the AT4/Z71 trim, the AT4 is a bit better buy. In the AT4X/ZR2 the Chevy is a better buy and IMO looks better. The GMC grill on the Canyon looks funny to me. And at this price point you might as well just get the ZR2.
Has the concept of rough drafts whether it’s proof reading etc. before they release the final version? Right off the bat this ding bet asks if we want him to compare the st4 trail boss again the z71 Denali. You have the ass backwards gmc has the Denali package and the Chevy has the trail boss. Why even do something if you’re gonna be lazy and half ass it. I see it so much in these so called internet journalists they are so freaking lazy they they won’t even click spell check before they upload their reviews. And we wonder why we are such a laugh stock to the rest of the world. That’s only the beginning. Take pride in your work.
I have to disagree. That z71 is fully loaded. It has a sunroof and those wheels are the most expensive option you can put on a z71. An $800 option. I know because I ordered one. When I looked the at4 I liked it better than a loaded Colorado.
On my Sierra, that was the first thing I did was paint match the fenders and black out the orange lights. Not sure why they keep this design when most want it gone.
They aren't just reflectors, they are actual marker lights. You can get smoked colored ones aftermarket for pretty cheap, but the marker lights look pretty good at night, similar to the HD's.
I believe Colorado has 3 different versions of the 2 7 engine, with 3 different power out puts depending on trim level.. The Canyon has the HO engine in all of its trim levels.
I bought the canyon at4 2 weeks ago. I traded my 2022 colorado. You missed a few things in your review. If I’m not mistaken the reason the payload numbers are different is because the at4 has 430 ftlbs torque where the colorado is set at 390. I did hear they possibly dropped the midrange engine option. After driving both I can say the Canyon accelerates much better than the Colorado. It’s hard to compare those 2 versions. They’re made for a little different applications. The at4 has a 2 inch lift and has several cool off road apps on the touchscreen. If you are crawling,it has a tire deflator that allows you to drop tire pressure for better traction. You also missed the little tailgate holding hook that allows you to drop the tailgate halfway and carry a level load over the wheel wells. In my opinion the Colorado interior looks cheap compared to the luxurious upscale look of the gmc. It almost seems like a contradiction to the gmc’s tough capabilities. I really like the gmc better than the Colorado. The only regret I have is I bought one without 2 options I really miss and 1 I really wanted. The heated steering wheel and the charging pad and I would have liked the sunroof. I’ve got a little over 500 miles on it,still showroom clean. I have added a tint and a bed liner. If someone reading this wants to buy it off me you can save a little off msrp and about a thousand or more in dealer fees and if you’re looking at seiner you’ll save $1200 in dealer fees alone.Mine is a beautiful sterling metallic and a little nicer than the one he reviewed. Then I can order one with the options I want. With the Canyon there are a few option levels in the at4. In my opinion a loaded at4 is far better than a loaded z71 and the trail boss can’t even be equipped like the at4.
No, for the 2024 Colorados only the WT & LT get the mid grade engine with the Max option. The Trail Boss, Z71, & ZR2 get the Max as standard. On the GMC all trims get the Max engine as standard.
The GMC has always been a little higher spec truck and more plush, but that also comes at a higher price. They are both nice trucks. It just all comes down to personal preference. I can tell you one thing. I have had a couple of s-15/sanomas and s10s in my time. Boy, they have come a long way since those days. But the price has too. My first s-15 was $6500 brand new off the showroom floor in 88.
Great comparison video , i like the look of the previous canyon compared to the Chevy front ends , but i actually prefer the headlights being higher up on the new Chevy compared to the canyon , don't know why they put them lower , and don't know why they don't give you the option of 6 foot bed , thanks for the great video 👍🏻
Depends, as far as off road wise yes but as far as bells and whistles the Z71 is a better comparison, what Chevy did was take the GMC Canyon AT4 and basically split it into two trucks. (Trail boss and Z71)
@@zacharychapman6731 that’s right. Traded in my 22 z71 for a 24 at4 much more truck for the money, however I am missing a few minor accessories I had in my Colorado.
It’s not just the lift it’s the 3inch wider stance than the Z71,,,,the Trail Boss looks a lot better and alot cheaper! The Z71 just doesn’t look right to me, I payed 41,100 for my new Colorado TB with every option you can get on one!
Out of curiosity I looked at a Trail Boss the other day, it was right at 42k MSRP. Did not like it, interior look plastic and cheep, had better ride then my 22 Ranger, but it was painfully slow compared to my Ranger. I ordered and bought my Ranger in 22 for 42k, XLT, 302A package, heated seats, duel Climate control, sliding rear window, trailer tow package, FX4 off road with push button rear locking diff. Yeah the Trail Boss might have a little off road advantage over my Ranger, but 42k I would take my Ranger over the Trail Boss any day everyday.
Well you wouldn’t be able to get that type of trim on the Colorado or Caynon highest trim lever for both will be Zr2 bison and At4x Aev or aswell the Denali you can get the Denali in the Caynon that’s literally the high country of Chevy
@@abranorozco227 my point is there is no luxury trim level in the Colorado. There is the Denali trim for the sierra like the high country in the Silverado. You can get the Denali trim in the Canyon. Should be able to get a high country in the Colorado.
@@HRCfan17 true but Chevy has always been like that since they made the Colorado’s Gmc has always offered a Denali in the Caynon but I feel you on that wish they did too but hey atleast you can get a Zr2
@@jonathanmariani5627 the stats say different. The 22 chev Colorado has the standard 6 six. It was a good reliable truck but this new 24 Canyon is a far better truck.
Both prices are outrageous over price on both!!! What’s up with these midsize prices? We don’t make $150,000 a year who can afford $1200 payments!!! Keep your old shit …. Everybody refuse to pay these prices out there until they mark them down $10,000 or more….
