Owning a nice Chinese car in Australia is just a dream, as the US is pressuring its allied countries to ban or impose sanctions on Chinese products to maintain its global dominance. Sad news for costomers
It's been said many times before. When HSV's hit the 100k mark "Who'd pay 100K for a holden". Then "Who'd pay 100k for a Hyundai?" where a Genesis is almost 300 series money. People pay 80k for a dual cab ute. Idiots would pay 75k and up for a 79 series with creature comforts of an old Catholic church pew. So much is made in china they have a wealth of experience with exposure to high end manufacturing. I sell hydraulic components, you couldn't tell the difference between a Chinese or european made CETOP3 valve.
I think the thinking around "Chinese made" really will change fast. Unless global trade barriers are applied its suer bet Chinese vehicles will be the best for the consumer, quality and price and design.
@@jameslovering9158 Let’s see who wins between Washington and Beijing. If Beijing wins, people around the world will get high-quality and low-priced goods; if Washington wins, rich people will continue to enjoy good things.
@AH-mq9fn ranger is a glorified work ute. And a Range Rover is over priced. When I see one driving around its not oh look they must be famous or have lost of money. I think dam sorry to be them. They aren't good anymore.
range rovers, bwm suvs, merc suvs only to be driven by unskilled moms. im like, why spend all that money if your baby just vomits in it. maybe use the vomit money on an education fund instead 🤷
$85KAUD Toyota Hilux feels like I'm sitting in a 1980s Mercedes taxi from Beirut, so yeah for $100kAUD to $150kAUD I will take this any day. My daily driver with 165,000kms Chinese car that I have owned now for almost 5years now with 0 problems yes Iam over the made in China scare. Yet at the same time my Mercedes E53 AMG has gone in for 7 expensive repairs at the same time ( I bought the two cars 1 month apart late 2019)
Exactly... why would u want a SUV for 7 seaters!? They might just get the VAN or Commute for more seats. I want a large SUV with 5 seats only and big boot spaces where i can sleep comfortably and loading enough room.
i currently own 6 cars, including a delica, a subaru outback, a g wagon professional, a dmax, a lc200 v8 and a byd seal. i am done with buying japanese cars. byd bao 8 will be my next new car..
I always wonder why people buy luxury Japanese cars or Japanese cars at all when they have enough money, lets say for example who have 6 cars😁 Japanese cars are reliable, cheap to maintenance, but deadly boring...
Mate, LC300 is soft too, but everyone choose to ignore that. By the way, Tank700 is A high end large SUV and off roader. What do you expect? like a Audi RS3 ?
Great looking both interior and outside. Chinese cars may not be your first option; but as soon as it can affecting some of the other brands; it is also a good sign
you miss that you can lay down in quite a large degree at the second row and you can disconnect the sway bar like some really hard-core off-roader, such as Rubicon and bronco.
The thing with China is, you get what you pay for! I have bought budget chinese stuff with budget performance and expensive chinese stuff with exceptional performance. I guess its more of the perceived value. For so much features, the buyer needs to decide if they want to pay 30-100% more for other models or be content and settle with this! I just might 😊
appreciate for the ambition, but GWM still have long way to go to prove the world that the consistent reliability and service, unfortunately this could mean a good 10-15 years 'testing' period by consumers as this is the minimum amount of time that toyota have spent over the years to prove their LC
Wasnt a very convincing test drive thats for sure, stacked with features but ill hold off until they actually have proven longer term reliability and better handling on and off road.
So true. I do hope they are investing on suspension strong ane agile enough to compete with the Japanese made ones. Time will tell whether they can compete with the reliability too.
GWM Tankl fanboys - keep dreaming that the world would choose this over a Landcrusier. There is a reason why the Landcrusier is the chosen vehicle and the Patrol. And also you are deluded if you think some air bag suspension is good for off-roading HAHAHHAHAHAHA
Price of the Tank 700 in China The price of the Tank 700 in China is approximately $59,000 to $96,000, and it currently sells more than 2,000 units per month in China.
Like the 300, The suspension setup seems to be on the soft side to appear more luxurious, but I'm not sure it holds up well and has the engineering integrity for a 100K car, just yet.
it's an experimental attempt from GWM to attack the real premium SUV segment and it's a strong start. GWM has all the factors available but it has room for improvement for sure. And I am sure the next one will be even a lot better
all good and well when new; problem with these cars is they age faster than anything else - how it holds up and looks in 3-5 years is the crucial element. old "great wall" cousins are all falling apart. for 100k that badge wouldn't get my consideration
After owning two Chinese made cars, I would recommend people think twice before outlaying 100k on any Chinese car. They may look the real deal but their technology (or the way they implement it) just isn’t up to scratch. You end up turning off most of the sensors and gizmos after the novelty has worn off. In saying that, would seriously have a look at it if it was sub 70k.
Interesting, I had a LC200 before. When I bought it new, the last row of seats were removed and decked out with my own design storage and slide out kitchen. Just curious why would we need 7 seats for a 4WD? For transportation, a people mover will do the job. For off roading, who will carry 6 passengers😂
Top model sold in China will cost you over 150k AUD, it will be well over 180k plus LCT and on Road cost if selling here. LC300 GR sounds a better option to me.
No thank you. But, you can now honestly say. BMW, Mercedes and all the so called “luxury” German cars are well over priced if you get this high quality interior in a Chinese made vehicles.
Personally I think it's too good to have a chinese brand in Australian, look the Japanese cars and other brand ,far too expensive. Chinese car need to be good quality, then the market will buy it
There’s heaps of dorks online that praise the china cars lol. The whole front lifts up, I bet the rear wheels leave the ground when you brake aswell. There’s been china cars oversees having accidents and the airbags are not being deployed🤦♂️ peasants will do anything to save money even at the risk of their families lives that’s how brainwashed they are.
Gwm should have waited about 10 to 20 years for their current lineup to prove their worth. Thays what all the oteher carmakers did. Huge reluctance for their 49k vehicles so a hundred k now is way too soon. Love it nonetheless and definitely gettingore for my money than a Gwagon.
