@@MattLaidlaw Matt I want your take on HD going woke. My take is I've had Harleys since 1974 and if they don't get rid of the wokesters in the company they are done
I do own the 2023 Nightster Special and it is a great bike! It is so amazing to ride and makes so much fun to ride. I do like your videos, so thank you for reviewing all the bikes and these amazing videos
Nice girl with ironic approach “because it is sportster a girl must do the review” ,she is really good on reviews and I think she and Matt can take 50% and 50% of the reviews 😀👍
I have been watching his work on the nightster. His pipe version looks awesome. Less than 500lb and 90HP with ride modes. Imagine if they put in the 1250! thats a fun bike to ride! a few cool parts and this could easily sit next to my RGST in the garage.
Honestly such a great bike. It’s a Buell super cruiser for a fraction of the price. It’s the dimensions of a Dyna and stomps on Milwaukee 8 bikes. It’s a real sleeper
As HD is going more modern and improving there quality and reliability of the V twins there will bee a,lot of resistance from old school harley fans ,somebody compared the new Harleys to Hondas, probably one the most innovative and reliable brands out there.
I bought my 2023 Nightster from Danielle. Thank you Girl. I love this bike!! I only ride in sport mode. It has more than enough power and just feels good to ride. Only thing I need to know is when She is going to go ride with me.
I was thinking of adding the Nightster to the garage alongside the Road Glide, but not spending another dime with the Motor Company until they get rid of their current practices. Damn shame
not a fan of the way the nightsters cylinder covers look... just looks cheap and plastic... and not clean plastic like on a sport bike fairing... totally subjective I know, it just kills that whole model line for me. I don't know a lot about motorcycles but I think it's a functional part of the liquid cooling. Am I wrong on that?
The metal cylinders look cheap or the heads? Yes, it is different because it's fully liquid cooled. I know what you're talking about though. The heat fins are missing and that really changes the look and style.
The new Nightsters are good bikes. Definitely a value leader in the line. Improvements I would like to see are cleaning up the radiator, and better looking exhaust. The radiator looks plastic and bulbous, the exhaust is small potatoes because everyone changes it anyway. New models I would like to see in the line would be a Sportster R (1250 motor, naked upright chassis), Sportster RT (same bike, but with bags & a windscreen), and a Nightster 1250.
Mdrrr lol😂. You can ride almost 95% exhaust in CA including rhinehart wich are quiet loud on sporster. Just the liquid cooled sound just like a crap and maybe dangerous cause not lound enough.
I have two motorcycles in my garage, a 1999 Sportster 1200 and a 2006 V-Rod. To me, the Nightster Special is an excellent melding of my two bikes. I'll never sell either of them, especially my V-Rod, but I will add a Nightster Special and a Pan America Special to my garage in the very near future - done deal.
Being a traditional EVO Sportster Bro I can't say this makes me want one. Looks like they created a hybrid Honda Rebel and Yamaha Bolt and added the side panels of the old range. Viewed from the left the radiator setup looks awful. The rider interface is also the Revmax engine button layout thus deleting the right turn signal button. Meant to compete with the Indian Scout range all of the above is understandable, but the end product is without the character of the EVO range. Harley should have kept the Rg750 as an entry level option but low sales numbers could understandably have led to its discontinuation. For my money, I would buy an Indian Scout over this.
@@CactusJack252 Yeah good bike with some interesting features. HD could have hopped up the Evo Sportsters to 90 hp and had a fine competitor for the market segment.
I don’t understand how “1” single nothingness item is such a big deal to H-D riders…that right turn single button 😱missing😱 or on the bike is the biggest whatever imo.
@@F1JV If you've owned a HD Sportster or big twin the interface is part of the riding experience and the right side turnsignal button is part of that. Having owned several different bikes as Ducati, Suzuki and Triumph it is a small difference that actually has the effect that reminds you that you're on a Harley. The vibrations are also part of the HD experience and they even added that as a haptic feature on the electric Livewire model.
@@robertolesen2349 …I own an FXDL and 3 other motorcycles right now + 2 more in my lifetime…I like that H-D turn signals are self-canceling and don’t care where the buttons are located except that throttling/braking + pushing that right button is silly imo.
I just don’t get the design decision to have the right side “finished” and the left side completely overlooked. And with bikes like the Yamaha MT-09, Honda Rebel 1100, Suzuki GSX-S 1000 and so on priced thousands less makes this a hard sell (unfortunately) and it’s just not a Harley with the Revolution Max. For not too much more, the Softail Standard makes so much more sense. 🤷♂️
I can appreciate that comment. I think there are people that feel the same way as you. The thing with all the bikes you listed is that their aesthetics are just as "busy" as the Nightster. Some of them have even more wires and lines running around the engine to take away the tidiness. Either that or they're covered with plastic fairings. It's a trade off for the added tech and cooling I suppose.
Harley Davidson is one of the greatest motorcycle companies on earth. Minds from another world. This is creativity from every model in the bike industry. This is innovation from the American industry 🇺🇲🦅🇺🇲
I just bought a Nightster RH975 I also own a 2022 Triumph Street Twin for comparison. Both bikes are wonderful and each has advantages and disadvantages. The Nightster is beautiful, long and low. While the Nightster is 4 pounds heavier, it feels much lighter due to the low center of gravity. The clutch and shifter on the Triumph is much better than the Nightster. The Nightster has a heavy long throw clutch and vague shifter compared to the Triumph light clutch and precise shifter. The single seat on the Nightster is better than the bench search on the Triumph. The sound from the stock pipes is way better on The Triumph and the Nightster is much hotter on the right side. While the Nightster has more power (65 hp vs 90 hp) the Triumph feels more powerful because the torque is there at very low rpm. After full break in I’ll know more about the Nightster power. In conclusion both bike are wonderful, the Triumph is great as it comes, while the Nightster has great potential with some upgrades with clutch, shifting and exhaust.
Im looking to buy my first Harley very soon, and I like the look of the Nightster...but it just dont sound like a Harley! I think im still sold on a 48.
I thought of getting the nightster but i went with a 2023 Indian scout rogue and i love that bike. Also the Indian looks complete on both sides. Lololol. At stars and stripes Harley Davidson i got a call from them when the nightster first came out and they told me that msrp was $13,000 but they would give it to me for $19,000 cause the bike just came out and a lot of people want it. This was back in may 2022. I got my Indian for the msrp. I Couldn't be happier with Indian.
Such a huge mistake by their woke CEO getting rid of the real sportster and replacing it with a low quality Honda that isn’t selling. Maybe they can paint it a rainbow color and fully destroy the brand.
I'm sure it is a better motorcycle than the original 2009'ish Nightster but the older one just looks way better. Still see them out and about on the road. She did a great job of selling it.
@@hiflyer1168 Thays actually hilarious. I own 3 Harley’s as a result of my “wanna be pilot” career which nets me more than 300k yearly. Thanks for playing , now go back to your mothers basement.
My roots are from willow springs and Fontana track days on a R6. Now I’m on a sleeper street glide performance bagger. I’m so curious about the Nightster. The specs are impressive finally a performance built Harley Davidson.
HD Thunderbike in Germany made an outstanding customization of the Nightster with Project X. I think the 2 new Sportsters are awesome. But my 22 Heritage is still the best.
I don't really like this as a Sportster replacement. I loved the sportster. First motorcycle i ever owned and I'd still had it if it was my choice. This just looks, and sounds, like a Yamaha Bolt.
I love these bikes but agree the exhaust needs to go. Maybe they knew everyone replaces them anyway. Excellent review and overview of some sweet bikes.
This bike is getting more and more traction..you tubers like Kruesi are showing it off now …I’m wanting to see a more practical bike like that with the big Rev Max(not the Sportster S) with a bit more length
Danielle, has worked at Laidlaw's H-D for several years. She's been on the channel many times. I'm still here with "friends". I sat this one out because I wanted some to let someone ride that fit the bike better.
I had to watch this video 3 times before I notice the Harley, she looked amazing riding this. Great video ! Great ride! Would anyone consider this ride a females bike? Im really considering it.
Seeing This bike at my dealership. It’s definitely not the size of the 883. Yes the pipe the pipe. Always the pipe. 😂 that a taste. For me the look of the protection pipe. Cut it off. And just put a street canon new version. This wake up This médium beast😂
Hey Matt. What’s your take on the woke company HD has become? Do you support the CEO and Board members who have pushed DEI policies and now moving operations overseas?
HD had truly lost it. The stripes on the Nightster from the dismal AMF era. And the board of directors are only about a lifestyle, DEI ideology and little about motorcycles.
Look at the execution of the modern bonneville and go back to the drawing board or computer.Has potential but needs to look cool from the factory not cost a fortune to make it that way .
Unfortunately Harley has been going down hill over the last 10 years, I own a 1988 Heritage S. Classic and has been with me for 30 years, I would never consider buying any of the new Crap that H.D. is putting on the market.
I found it difficult to concentrate on the bike, I was too distracted by what might happen to Danielle if she were to have a spill whilst riding without wearing any protective gear. I don’t want to be a miserable old fart but she really shouldn’t have been riding in just a vest, jeans and sneakers especially at high speed on the freeway! The consequences of an accident, even at low speed without proper protection don’t bear thinking about!
I agree with you. A missed opportunity to showcase some warm weather gear. On the upside, the road rash scabs will coordinate nicely with the orange on the fake tank.
Do NOT say "your dude" on the back of your motorcycle. Harley is the most anti woke society group out there! We do not like that woke crap, and we like it that way. Lol
That's harleys new woke sportster. Please someone get rid of Zeitz he is ruining the company with these European look alike bikes.Matt didn't do this review because he knows the bike is shit and probably isn't selling. Bring back the 48, stop trying to reinvent the wheel. Harley doesn't need to do anything they have a solid base. Liquid cooled will never work for them. This bike sounds like shit even with aftermarket exhaust. So what if it's fast, the bike has no character. Micky does the best reviews.
Well every bike made by every manufacturer will have to be liquid cooled sooner rather than later so get used to it. The M8 is Harley’s last motor with any air cooling
