Totally agree…I will go out on a limb and say I’d rather watch this than the full build stuff. Reason being 90% of us would actually do this types of installation.

I feel like the odd ball because I really like the new tail lights on the 24’s. That’s the beauty of HD’s because there’re so many aftermarket options and directions you go with your bike. If you don’t like something, no problem, change it!

Currently have a 21 SGS with Stage 2 kit and really like the lines of the stretched bags, facias and curvature of the tank, plus the conventional thumb controls. You mentioned that bags are interchangeable, but if you swap to extended bags, then you'll need to swap rear fenders to match. I'm on the fence with the 24's. I do like the twin cooled system and fan assisted oil cooler. We all know of the heat issues. Not exactly sure of HD's reasoning for redesigning the tank. Personally the raised seem, just looks foreign to me. Just my thoughts, but seems as if HD has designed the newer RG's & SG's more towards a stunt looking bike. Plan on taking another look at the 24's this week. What you have done John, did make it look and sound better. Wondering since they took the triple tree plastic filler out. If it has anything to do with buffering, that I felt when test riding last week. I'll quit rambling. Do appreciate and enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing.

Rode the '24 RG over to see my sick buddy and run him to the German Butcher shop. He had a heart thing so he still can't drive... anyhooo, Its windy as F down here in the Pines, the Klockworks 12" did a pretty good job keeping my face clear of the worst of it. John, I'm about 6'1" should work for you too.

John, I just recently subscribed your channel 2 reasons. I love your vibe just so down to earth. You love what you do and two you seem like the kind of person that likes to share his experiences and advice. I appreciate that looking forward to sticking around with you. And hey, just some friendly advice. You mentioned at least one or two holes that will be covered up by your new license plate cover I think you said. I highly recommend if there’s any holes from the original OEM get some kind of rubber grommets, or plastic covers or something Especially you being up in the northeast at any given time there is all kind of road grime and corrosion that you do not want to get in between your fender and your new license plate cover. Brother I just wanna throw that out maybe it will be helpful. I’m excited to see this build. And like others have mentioned I love the fact that you were going with a mild build on this one emphasizing quality aesthetics solid function with some moderate power upgrades. I think you’re on an awesome track. Good luck to you and your family. I wish y’all all the best.

You know chrome around the speakers or inner fairing would look sweet. Here in Alabama we have over 2 dozen plate styles. Loved Sons but can’t seem to get into Mayans. I had Lasix surgery when I was 52 I’m 64 now and my vision is still perfect. Everything looks great😎

The only thing bad about covering up the bolts is , if you ever decide to add the rear crash bars you can’t get to the rear bolts.

Thx for the video John, I feel like I know you. I do agree w some of the other comments about doing a ‘light build’ that most people can relate to and still keep a roof over our families head without spending the mortgage money. We’ll explained video, I can’t get over how you can talk so much and keep the video rolling and entertaining. I would run out of things to say in the first 2 minutes.. lol 😂.. and the Chrome against the black looks gorgeous and classy. I like that rear end look the way you have it better than the new 2024 harley look but everyone has their preference. Keep them videos comin’!!!! Much appreciated

I agree with you on the looks completely that's why I bought a 23 Whiskey Neat road glide. I had a black limited and did many chrome upgrades but I do think you can go overboard and then it could become gaudy. FYI Tennessee plates have to be the worse motorcycle plates made. Very boring looking

The lights are bright. To recessed though. They should have been set up like the stock ones. Flush with the fender and bags.

Looks amazing John, just traded both of my RG'S for a 2024 HD RG CVO ST Raven Black, going with all Trashin chrome parts, risers, pedals, Trask 2 into 1 and the same license plate frame, I do like a ton the contrast between black and chrome. All my previous bikes were blacked out so something different this time around. Hope all is well. Cheers from AZ.

Just installed the same license plate bracket today on my 24 RG in black. Couldn’t stand looking at the OEM bookshelf sized plate bracket. Love those filler panel lights ! Looks awesome !

I’ve worked for an eye doctor for 10 years. So we have 2 refractive parts to our eye. 1 on the outside(cornea) and 1 on the inside(lens) and they both bend light. The inside part(lens)(the size and shape of a m&m) has tiny muscle fibers that bend the lens in your eye. The lens also gets clouded(cataract)from uv exposure and it makes the lens get harder. So as we age, due to all these components changing, our ability to focus up close starts to change. The cataract will also get dense(clouded) enough for near and far to be blurry. So then we get cataract surgery. It happens to everyone. Hope this was interesting to you. :)

I think I would consider adding the thin lights that go under the saddlebag lids. I have them now, they really do make a difference in being seen. Just a thought.

I use dielectric grease to help keep the water and moisture out of my connections. Prevents corrosion also

Clean look my only thing I would do is add a 3-bar fender light and perhaps omit the taillights to lose the CVO look with some smaller lights either square or round. My 18 Road Glide had the more traditional look, but my thought is retro it with smaller lights to not entirely lose the newer look. My 20 Deluxe is an example of retro with LED. I own a 24 FLTRX in Sharkfin Blue which I love but has a smaller selection of color choices. I'd still like to accent the engine with red which will give it a different look.

Great videos! Just picked up my '24 whisky fire RG. I'm doing a compliant screaming eagle stage two on mine. We'll see if I can last 2 yrs staying that way. My last bike I only lasted 9 months before I voided my warranty with a 124 kit 😆.

Great add ons for the new ride, they look really great. I’ve ordered the license plate for my new 24 CVO StreetGlide. Instead of electrical tape I’d suggest some dielectric grease. I’ve been using that on my bikes connections for 30years, maybe longer but don’t want to age myself too bad lol. How did you find the windshield and fairing in the rain? Thanks for taking the time to show us some cool upgrades we can tackle ourselves Safe travels 👍🏻✌🏻👊🏻

Looks good John! Not a huge fan of the rear directionals; I really like the HD design of them on the new 24s so I'll prob leave mine alone. I DO like the CD led plate mount; got the same one in black on my black on black 24 SG. Side note- What I thought was funny is that when your cussing out the Jersey license plate & you look back at the camera you've got the SAME yellow plate-like logo on your hat! Lol! And your right about the 24s being technically & mechanically "superior" to the older SGs & RGs. Anyone who disagrees hasn't ridden the new ones in custom mode yet I think! GREAT video!

I made sure I let Custom Dynamics know that how crappy that plate was designed. I don't know how their team allowed that junk to be released. The gasket was the worst part of the whole install; I also had to use some super glue in some areas just to hold it in place. They also should have threaded the mount for the plate frame bolts instead of having to mess with the back piece for the threads. Looks great though once you get done with the aggravation of trying to install it. Personal taste but Idk if I like how recessed those brake lights are now. They are super bright but which they were more flush with the bag ends.
