Speed and reflex needs to be standardised. So below 1 inch = 5 and within 5fps of ibo = 5 or something. Elite got a 1 for reflex and had the same measurement. Also speed was inside 10fps on the elite and got the same score as this which is outside 10fps.
I agree... Speed within 5 fps of advertised they get 5 points. Within 8 fps 4 points. Within 12 fps 3 points. Within 16 fps 2 points. Lastly anything over 16 fps 1 point.
Did you shoot that bow on75,80 or 85% let off because those speeds could be altered the only reason I’m asking that is because the Matthews that you tested got a five on speed but was also well under the publish speed
Hoyt in his top 3 brands I bet lol! $$$:) Also he stated elite was not popular out west awhile back….and because they’re built on east coast. “I live in Midwest and hunt the Rockies and elite pretty popular!” Hey I loved the Ethos! Actually enough I ordered one in slate grey! Thought it was impressive! Wonder how the ethos cycle would be with smooth mods compared to this cycle??? 🤔 interesting! Maybe all these bow testers should should blindfolded for the shots and have someone else measure specs and speeds then after the test see what bows win with the highest rating and personal feel;) But hey opinions are like assholes everyone’s got one right!
Hey Brother. To be completely honest, that is the first Hoyt that I actually like the look of. It's a little longer than I normally shoot, but that's something I could adjust to. Thanks for including this one into your test.
i think someone already mentioned it... but when you said you wished the wall was harder, did you try the other setting on the draw stop? Getting rid of the e-clips was a great thing IMO. Hated those things. Thanks for the review!
Hello Lucas my name is Gerry Houston what is your all around bow that you use. I don't have many options where I live in Pennsylvania. One dealer close to me has Hoyt,Mathews, and Bowtech. And a couple elite dealers . No prime dealers I know of. I'm a short guy at 5'7 230 pounds I'm looking to buy a new bow Im looking between Hoyt and Elite
I would love to see you do a review on some APA bows. I have heard you mention them before and I would love to hear what your opinion is on the new black Mamba pro and king cobra DG.
Looks like the prices on the 24 bows are higher on their website than what they told you they’d be…by a couple hundred in some cases. Also, have you tried the back wall adjustment setting for a harder feel? If not, probably not right to ding them on that.
Been loving the reviews! They make these bows now days with 0 tolerance precision. I love how you say they are off using a wooden measuring stick that only measures in 1/8s lol. Just giving you some shit keep up the good videos
When you draw back I see there’s a bar hitting your wrist. That would definitely be an issue with all the gear I’ve had to wear in the cold temps this season. That design just seems like a huge flaw if you are hunting with layers on.
Bowtech Fanboy checking out a Hoyt. It certainly will have his bias, but as far as biased reviews go, MFJJ is pretty good. He already did a "homer review" on the Bowtech's. So let's see him flame the Hoyt and compare that to his love for the Bowtech to get a real idea what is here. Well MFJJ was pretty good. Flamed the snot out of Hoyt for the old archaic shim system ? Just because everyone is doing it,doesn't mean you have to. But I agree, something like PSE has would rock. The drop in speed is very unHoyt like. Was it rest related or just slow ? Hoyt used to post over IBO ratings not long ago. Me thinks the Dennis Richard, Exact D/L ,I think it is his ?,,,appears to maybe slow the cam rotation a bit, but that should be taken into consideration before posting IBO speeds. My only objection to most of all this is how can you shoot a bow test without making sure the bow is timed and paper tuned ? We know timing results in more or less vibration. We know arrow paper can impact speed too going thru a Chrono. FMJJ, take the next step and drawboard the cams and paper tune the bow. This bow has settings to adjust the string stop to firmer or looser which I didn't hear mentioned ? Also the exact D/L as well as 3 let off settings 75,80,85. Does speed vary there ? Might be why it's off a bit on speed ? Let's see the bow @ 75% let off. All in all from a Bowtech Fan Boy you were pretty good over all. Bowtech you would go higher and on other brands you go lower on various aspects. Hoyt say this grip is their best ever ??? lol The riser looked vey much Bowtech, and Hoyt purportedly has corrected the shelf to allow room for a full window.
Shooting a 300 VAP TKO elite arrow. 28.5” DL right at 70 pounds. What set up with outserts, collars ETC should I run up front for the best penetration I could get out of that arrow?
@PodiumArcher best reviews on RU-vid. Might you Please re-review this bow with your current testing and evaluation/scoring system. Would love to see what this bow does at 30 inch draw with the various arrow weights you now use. Keep up the awesome content. 🥇
I just ordered one in tombstone, they look awesome, damn I gotta stop buying bows I only bought my mach 34 about 3 months ago the a elite verdict 2 months before that. Gonna have to sell some bows.
So the vibration tester, do you think that what you may be reading is the vibration from drawing the bow? If so, maybe you could use an assistant to reset the meter after you draw the bow, before the shot. Great reviews nonetheless!
Great performance on the top of shorter mod but its been like that its nice they are making mods for more people, but lets be honest its time to step up the adjustability and tune ability. Definitely a bow that would be just as easy at 80lbs but might not be worth the fps. Great repeatable shooter but so is the 34 or 33 from the past. Hard to justify a new bow with previous offerings being on sale and neck and neck in the lineup. Just glad everyone is up for the competition and pushing in the right direction every year! Nice that nobody is resting on their past laurels. Hard to find a bad offering anymore! Thank you for your thorough reviews they are worth watching over and over.
"Great performance on the top of shorter mod" Can you explain what you mean by this? I'm considering buying the 27-29 mod on a 33. How is the performance different than other mods? I have a 27.5 draw but I'll likely set up at 27-3/4 as my nitrum at 27.5 feels a whisker short. Thanks.
@@robgodfrey699 the mods are in incremental adjustments. 27-29 for instance will give you better performance at 29. Same can be said for 29-31. The top of each mod usually gains a little as it is at the peak of the draw cycle and at a longer draw length as well, probably doesn’t hurt. If your peak draw is at 27.5 a mod at 28 (if available) adjusted slightly would still yield a better draw cycle (possibly) and better performance. For example I shoot a mod that peaks at 30 so I cant get the maximum benefit at my 29.5 draw but if I had a mod that peaked at 29.5 it would perform better at the top of that mod for me. Hope I didn’t make that more confusing. Cheers, and good luck.
I really appreciate your honest reviews on bows. Its helpful in helping me narrow down new bows for when i make my upgrade this off season. Thanks again.
@tonyviers-de9qi same im due for an upgrade and want something in the 33 or 34" ata range. Too many choices. And being lefty makes it hard to even shoot them because most bow shops dont stock them
@@saw6f4I can’t ever find a shop with lefty bows when I am searching . So as lefties we are a minority and need to gather against the oppression of the right handed and demand equality. This discrimination must end.😂
Fire your camera man, seriously. Stopped the video after 1:45 due to nausea. It looks like a child was filming with a flip phone. Otherwise I enjoy your opinions and content.
