They made a mistake. Was talking to a sales lady about this on Dec 28, 2023. The entire dealership had to be remodeled. Stellantis sent a training team to instruct them on snacks and amenities and how to handle rich customers who want a $125,000 grand wagoneer. This is a more rural area of a southern state. They are Used to more easy going customers like myself. She said selling a wagoneer takes hour and hours longer even days longer with customers nit picking every little item like a Lexus dealership. What Jeep should do is ditch the base model and have series II, III and the grand wagoneer as the top trim with the exclusive higher power Hurricane and all the other trimmings. Adjust the pricing to reflect more of reality and go from there. If you keep the Base model then drop the MSRP By 10k

Came across an article saying the same thing, and that they want to make jeeps more upscale as well to also be a semi luxury brand. To refine the interior and other offerings. I had to laugh. These automotive execs get paid so much and still miss the mark. 120K+ for a jeep that owned by this corporation is just ridiculous. My wife had a jeep and i'll never purchase another one. had to change the transmission times I mean seriously, is this really a better offering than the Expedition and Suburban whove been doing this for a while now? Hell i'll take new Lexus gx over this everyday of the week. Have they fine tuned the handling on this thing considering how big and boat like it is? Theres a reason Jeep, Dodge Chrysler and Rams are the slowest selling vehicles right now, the mark ups at the dealerships are absolutely criminal, which in turn affects the manufacturers output. This is what happens when you just see a market and think everyone has money to burn. Like who approved this?

Interesting. I sat in two of them (base and series III) while my truck was having oil changed at the dealer and took the base model out for a spin since it’s the same motor in all of them. I thought the motor was much much more responsive than the hemi that’s in my 2022, 1500. I don’t know why you called it a dog, but the Hemi is a dog. I thought I was crazy until I read your comments, but you are right I am almost 6’2” and for some reason this car felt somewhat cramped and the seats smaller than competitors. I thought the steering wheel was beautiful. I like the digital display but it seems expensive for what you get. also, unless you move up to the grand Wagoneer, you can’t get power folding outside mirrors and you can’t get the rearview camera mirror. I also thought the round view mirrors weren’t as good as the competition. I would probably buy one if there were a screaming deal on it, but I’m definitely going to check out the new Tahoe and the new expedition when it comes out.

@@Ryan2022 - My current truck is a 2015 Ram 1500 crew cab 4x2 with the 5.7 hemi. It is by no means a dog. The thing absolutely flies down the road at the mere hint of pressure on the throttle. No mods, tunes, or any of that crap. Just a stock hemi. I'm surprised to hear you say your hemi is a dog. Maybe they messed with the shift mapping for the 2022s or something, but the 5.7 hemi is a performance engine and it's done great for me. In contrast, the engine they've put into the Wagoneer boasts good numbers, but lacks the torque and higher RPM-range performance compared to the V8. They're chasing EPA numbers, not trying to make a good truck, so this is what we get. My ride in the Wagoneer left me feeling like it was sluggish and under-powered, which is why I compared it to the Pentastar V6, which has the same lack-luster performance. I guess we had different experiences, but that's why car buying is such a personal, subjective thing. I definitely agree with just about everything you said in the 2nd half of your response. Some bits of the interior design were really nice, and then some bits weren't. And they definitely seem to be trying to nickel-and-dime people with regard to certain options only being available on certain models. To be fair, I checked out a $120K+ Escalade the other day and couldn't believe how cheap the interior felt. Looked cool, but man there was some low-end stuff in there. And I'd swear the rear seats were recycled from a bad minivan or something. They were like planks with fancy vinyl seat covers. GM has definitely done better in the past. The new Navigator redesign looks pretty nice, though. I suspect the Expedition won't be far off in quality. I've owned one before and it was pretty damned good. Probably the best riding truck I've ever owned was a 2001 GMC Yukon XL 2500 with the 8.1L Vortec. Let me know what you think of the Tahoe and Expedition.

I don’t mind it, but prefer Tahoe / Suburban / Cadillac . I would imagine this thing will be in the shop a fair bit, and diesel is expensive to maintain

this is brand unto itself which im sure theyll have hiccups that havent shown up yet. Stellantis who merged with fiat who were responsible for the design of former jeeps had extremely shitty transmissions in the jeeps as well as their fiat abarths. they're trying to fuse Italian luxury and American ruggedness and bulldoze the market. I see alot of these on the street as rental vehicles so i guess theyre getting their sales that way. I cant see the consumer who has 100k to burn grabbing this thing.

Expeditions are trash with their cam phaser issues and trannys failing.
