Yup Dennis Stapleton. I met you at the Frozen Ocean Pro race back in 2000 or 2001. Bill and Sue Denman have new the VIP treatment to give their race. It was AWESOME and that writeup hopefully gave them more riders at their next trace. The late Kevin Crine won the 250s Pro, i think Ty Wallace won the 125s and this them new kid Bobby Kiniry smoked the 85cc class. If never seen a minibike go THAT FAST. He would've been top ten in the 250 Pro class easily. Anyway, glad to see you are still doing the testing for the bikes we get to ride. And yeah Josh, already a fan. Tell Mike I'm riding fort him in 24. God bless you guys. BRAAAP on.🫶🏾💪🏻💓💯 Hey. Wait a second, do 4 strokes have a meme sound? Is so what would it be? 🥴😉🫣 2 strokes: Braaap 4 strokes: ???
They Make the most wheel hp (dyno results posted on youtube if youd like links:) ), hydraulic clutch, the lighest of them all , and its been doing it for years, dont act like theres a reason it always comes first place, you may have your favorite but there are many riders that are testing all these bikes and they say very good things about it for a reason
5lbs heavier? Wow I can't believe that it got heavier. That doesn't normally happen, especially not that much. I know the austrian bikes gained weight in '23 but I didn't expect to see that happen with other brands
Damn, theres something about that 08 honda 450 frame that Kawi adopted as a base. They just keep rolling with it and it still makes a bunch of ppl happy.
Those don’t correlate, racing glen Helen you have to pull the front wheel up to get out of the sand to make more power, wheelie out of a corner typically means you’re searching for the least resistance due to lack of power. lol…
Just a reminder that, privateer Ty Masterpool with a stock Kx450 engine beat many times the Factory Ktms and Husqvarna at the nationals. Those who believe that they need more power to go fast with a 450 don't know what they are talking about. Ken roczen and Jet lawrence bikes are definitely not the fastest dirt bikes for a reason. Smooth and linear power is what we want. We ride dirt bikes not street bikes
You make a great point! Most riders can go faster on a slower bike. However, Ty’s bike wasn’t stock like this, he an FMF system to start outdoors and then switched to a Pro Circuit system later. Exhausts make a big difference and Kawasaki told us that we’d find a lot more power by throwing an aftermarket system on there. The KX450SR from the last two years is a great example of mods that made an extra 4 horsepower, but still allowed the bike to be rideable and not “too fast.”
@@motocrossaction so why do we talk about absolute horsepower numbers and not about rideability and usability of the engines ??🤔 Especially for the 450s. I can understand the logic talking about peak numbers of horsepower in 250 engine's or 125s ( even in that categories is not 100% the absolute goal) but not for the 450s who can spin their tyres and destroy traction easily with any gear.
@@andreasstefanou5898 great point! You definitely shouldn’t focus on peak horsepower and neglect ride-ability. We talk on both in our tests. The Honda CRF450 is one bike that we’ve praised for getting slower over the years because it was way too hard to hold onto when it had 60 horsepower
Got the 2024 KX450X its honestly the best bike I've ridden in recent memory. This coming from a 22 KX450SR, the power actually lets you roll it on hard. The bike is sneaky fast, you'll be going extremely fast before you even realize it. You don't even feel the extra 5 pounds. Rode my 450X stock and broke most of my own PRs and times without even getting it sprung for me. The bike is amazingly stable, and the front brake is absolutely amazing. You can trail brake so much deeper into corners without worrying about the bike just diving. The bike got even better after ditching the AT81 tires for some MX34s.
I’m glad it works for you but I returned mine, I was literally shocked big time at how slow the bike was. It literally felt like I had a 250 in the hills.
@@Markjacobs4477 It can definitely feel a little behind if you try to yank it out of the hole, but I found if you keep up your momentum it works beautifully. Currently got some mods on it and it woke it up even more. Everyone whos ridden it has loved it. I also have the 450X model with the 18 inch rear and I've become a member of the 18 inch cult lol.
Just bought one today! The blue seat and sticker makes the green "glow" more I think. I'm drinking a beer right now staring at it lol. Come Monday now more beer, in the gym and back on a diet. Last time I raced was 1993 on a 1992 KX250, so buying this throwback anniversary is like being born again
hi...so we are going to have to see...looks like they improved handling alot, but lost a little horse power.. maybe a little tuning and looking at that air box could help things....good reveiw..
Great lookin bike; Kawi did a good job in the design department. Now, if only one of the Japanese manufactures would make a 350! C’mon give the KTM group a run for their money at least.
The engineers were telling us that the other mount will offer more rear wheel traction. We’re hoping to try it in the next few weeks when they are in stock
Its most likely just soot from being welded. Soots caused from the percentage of magnesium that is in the aluminum so the black your seeing at the edge of the weld is most likely magnesium oxide. The mxa guys are pretty thorough and i would like to believe that outa all the people there and the location of that weld being connected to somthing thats new in the design of the frame a crack would be noticed forsure.
Sharp bike. Love to buy one to test but unfortunately with kawasaki giving away the 2023 450 it has killed the resale value of a used bike. Got 2 2021 kx450f and can't get 4700 bucks out of a 2 year old bike. I do really like my 2021, s though. I'm 1.5 seconds a lap faster on my track vs my 2019 ktm 450 sxf. Bike is so much more planted and it shows on lap times.
ya i got my 23 for 7k in SLC utah. but after evrything and a 2year motor train pak warrnty , special insurance and 600 in accesoriesit was 11k damitt@@stephenmiley5804
@ronmower3694 they have increased the colour saturation on the footage. It makes the green on the Kawasaki look a lot brighter and more colourful than it does in real life. It applies to all the colours in the video.
looks exactly like a CRF450R, frames similar, radiator shrouds similar, header pipe on the exhaust is the same, sounds the same, can't tell the difference
@@crimsontide9532 I wouldn't run anything less than premium gasoline depending on the state. In Colorado we have 91 octane but for me I run VP race fuels t4 it's 97 octane leaded fuel. But using premium pump gas is a good place to start especially if it's ethanol free but I run race gas and if you can afford it that's a good thing to do at least in my opinion
Sweet machine but I can't see any good reason to get off a '23 KTM 450SXF. Nontheless all the '24 450cc bikes are terrific.. even the RMZ450 (for non pro racers). 💯
@@NewEnglandPatriotsfan That is the easy stuff. wheather it can make the juice to power lights is the question. Ive had street legal dirt bikes, with knobby tires. Its different out west.
I know Mr. Moisman is a National caliber rider, but Tilly looked faster than Josh. 😮 Tilly does always twist the throttle pretty hard, maybe that's the key to this softer power ! 🤔😂
@@stevesmith756 I agree and so does anyone that rides any of my KX450 Orr 250 after there bike no matter the bike, they get off and say dang feels so different and slim and lighter
They changed the shade of green again geez... Never was a kawi fan.... Changing the shade of your plastic isn't going to make the bike anymore reliable
Off the showroom and already had to put in new brake fluid, and shift down to 1st gear to get through the corners, on a 450?! +5lbs. Hard pass for me. Going for the YZ450F or CRF450WE
@@zygismeskauskas4602 Because I already have the 2023.5 KTM 450 FE. But she is soo busy in the suspension, extremely shaky in the tracks I ride SW Florida (extremely stiff). I am not a pro, just vet that is physically fit and working on technique. She really wears me out with how much headshake I get. Powerwise, I can't comlaint, that KTM is a beast, but I find myself shifting too much. Would like a bike that I can ride the gears taller. Considering the CRF450 WE, YZ450F, maybe the 23KX450SR.
@@zygismeskauskas4602 You know, I heard about it in the reviews, but never thought it'd be something that would actually increase rider fatigue for me. I consider myself physically fit as an Army Ranger. But, damn, I tried a 23 Yamaha and a KX on the track, along with a CRF and it was night and day! I felt I could finish a 20 min moto consistently but with my KTM, at 7 mins... I'm already squeezing the living hell out of her because the shaking is too much. I've gone softer on the forks and played with the air pressure, also lowered them, but then the rear kicks like a mule.
OMG!! I have always loved the KX forever on so many levels. I'd be more than happy with the 250 tho. Unless you giving this away for free, then I can forward you my delivery address - Pleeeeeease!
