Bcz there's no one in the house who can build stuff. Hoonigan is a clothing brand. They tried to run a garage for PR, but that needed actual skills, so it didn't work.

@jeremys6631 he's sold his portion of Hoonigan I think a year ago but not sure. It wasn't until recently he just accepted another position at some art company I forget the name. So, if he does show back up it'll just be a visit once in a blue moon.

Dead on arrival. This vs that pulls views, but this isn't Hoonigan anymore. Also, why is the Ferrari waiting at the line and not using launch control? Tf the EV6 has a 0-60 of 3.2, runs 11.4-11.5 in the 1/4, the FF 0-60 is 3.4 and it runs low 11s. Not sure what's happening here. The kia was freight training it even up top, which it shouldn't do even per it's own testing. I feel like I'm watching a KIA commercial. I feel like they were sandbagging again.

A thousand feet is less than a quarter mile. And you're using manufacturer specs, which are often wrong and on different surfaces. The EV beating the Ferrarri to 1k feet makes perfect sense even with the numbers you posted, which are far from guaranteed to be accurate.

If you knew anything about the FF you’d know the AWD system is extremely weak and can break very easily. Launching it would be a terrible idea. 30k plus in damages if they break it

Wasn’t quick but getting 5000 lbs up and moving with a high revving V12 that makes no torque down low makes it look even slower.

Yep its what most people don't get... yeah it revs to 8 or 9k, but unless youre dumping the clutch or launch control up in the 3500rpm range going off idle is the slowest way. Especially when peak HP is at or near redline and the torque curve is no one home below 4000. FF weighs about 4200, about the same weight as my truck, but the power curve is WAY different @@longtailrally780

Watching them talk about the Kia was painful. The disdain for the electric car mixed with the requirement to talk good about it for the sponsor. Nothing is wrong with the Kia, in my opinion. If you know the show, they hate on electric cars. But not this time when the electric car maker is their sponsor. When I said it was painful to watch I simply meant that you could see they didn’t want to talk good about it but were getting paid to.

Remember that EV’s are wheel hp. 12 year old Ferrari with AWD probably loses 20%. That puts it at 560whp to the Kia’s 560whp. And Kia is EV full power all the time. Ferrari has 200whp at 4K rpm’s. 300whp at 5k. There’s no way it’s not getting walked out of the hole. I wasn’t super fast but the lethargy of that car trying to get up and move is kinda painful to watch. Especially without launch contol working.

@@Grimm-Gaming my E60 5 series has 310k miles on it, but on every video about germans and european cars Americans are the first to pipe up about how unreliable they are, so one persons good luck doesnt count for a whole lot :). FWIW Im in scotland, am a mechanic, had to drop a kia down to the dealer for ECU replacement and they had lots, perhaps about 10 wide and 2 deep worth of cars with the a/c pump dangling i.e. no engine all in warranty age. I have never seen the likes at any other dealership. I also, at the time of writing have more kia/hyundai on the books for major engine repair than any other brand. Usually BMW top my scoreboard followed closely by PSA and jaguar/landrover but kia-hyundai seem to be really stepping up their game :)

@@bstegmediaexplain why the Ferrari must be faster. They have about the same amount of HP at the wheels and one has full power all the time. When the FF launches from 3k rpm it has a full 150hp. It’s a big heavy car with no low end power and a super tall first gear. Launching is not its specialty.

You could clearly hear the Ferrari short shift bad on the last race. Plus it seemed like the driveline has a bad lag to it when launching. He seemed to do everything right but it just didn’t leave for a spilt second. I know some of those DCT type transmissions do have a bit of lag when trying to launch.

And high revving V12’s have absolutely no bottom end torque. Which doesn’t matter at all when you’re using this car for what it was designed for, not airstrip drag racing. 😂 it does have an aftermarket tune that came with the car that I know little about. How that affects things I have no idea.

I love the humor you guys bring to the channel. People love to hate on EVs. They don't like change and they don't like it because there isn't a loud engine sound. I get it. But technology will reign supreme. We have pushed ICE vehicles near their limit and they literally have to be running perfect in order to get consistent times. EVs technology has a long road of development and improvement ahead of it, in 5 to 10 years things will be vastly different than they are today. As.much as I have enjoyed all my past ICE vehicles, a 2012 Camaro being my favorite, I am all in on EVs moving forward. And whenever I say that the haters start tossing a bunch of negativity and disinformation at me...🤷‍♂️

Ferrari probably had a setting to prevent early shifting. Paddles shift usually has a safety to still shift at "safe" rpms. Would explain the "early" shift to 3rd

What this episode has that I miss from episodes like 1 - 3 years ago was Garry and Georjah just having fun and vibing off each other while checking out the Kia. The one man interview on each car isn't nearly as fun to watch as 2 or 3 members of the group interviewing while cracking jokes etc. That's what originally got me hooked on this channel but it has been lacking for a while.

i work at a kia dealership, got to do the PDIs on a few EV6 GTs, they're fun to drive but not as much as the Stinger GT

Electric is no joke in the performance department. The wife and I took a day trip through the mountains last summer in a C8 Corvette. On my way back home, I'm on this one section of highway that is a long straight road going down a hill. I catch up to a VW Bus that is doing a whopping 40 mph down this hill. I kick the car over, look down the road, not a car in sight coming the other way. Perfect. Kick the Corvette down a gear and punch it. As I am passing the VW Bus, I look in my rearview mirror, and here is this white sedan going step for step with me. It hung with me straight up. Come to find out it was a Kia EV6 electric car. The C8 Corvette is no slouch in the fast department, so I won't lie, I was damn impressed by the Kia.

idk if they said it in this vid but the original EV6 GT from a few years ago had even more horsepower, but then the government said it was too mucb for a regular affordable car. I think other car companies lobbied the gov to change it but idk

i saw the other comment about Zach commanding 3rd in the bonus race. you can hear it after he hits the paddle shifter. shame that wasn't told to him before the race. it could have been a lot closer. i'd still rather have the ferrari even if it loses to an ev kia. i think many would agree.
