Nice video, thanks. The 250 does seem to be overlooked by the youtube community. Shopping clearance bikes right now and the 250's are everywhere on the cheap.
How is the "sponge" level on this bike? I have a '24 250 XC-W and with one tank of gas the muffler goes from perfectly wiped clean, to oil running down the length of the muffler and dripping on to the swing arm. The bike has a little over 6 hours on it (3 tanks of fuel) and seems to run great though and doesn't foul plugs or anything. Just wondering if this is normal on these TBI bikes. I haven't owned a 2 stroke since the mid 80s so rather out of the loop.
You’ll love it man. The power comes on so nice through the trails. Seems to run really crisp too with the TBI. It didn’t load up on me at all and I didn’t have any spooge out of the exhaust even after riding slow and easy for a good while.
I just bought one of these last month. Also my first brand new bike and my first KTM. I’m just an average rider and oh my gosh I can’t wait to ride it again! I’ve only been able to put 1.5 hours on it so far and it’s killing me lol. Thanks for the video! Cheers!
@@ParkerRichards360 Glad you like it man. It’s an awesome bike. I just did my first maintenance on mine, I think im up to around 3 hours now. I rode it normal last time I had it out after the first transmission oil change and it has plenty of power for me. I read some people complaining about TBI lacking power but I have no problem floating the front when I need to and sometimes have to fight to keep it on the ground. It’s started to loosen up a bit and feel good on the smaller rocks now too.
I'm in the exact same spot, just an average joe rider, and I bought a used 450 fx, and it's trying to just rip through the woods. I think im going to make the switch to a 24 250xcw soon.
Nice man! I haven’t looked into any upgrades for mine yet other than swingarm protection and handguards. I’ve heard the bike can really be woken up with some ECU work. Stock is plenty for me for where I’m at with my riding. The suspension is starting to feel a lot better to me now that I have some time on the bike.
