One MUST always buy a good helmet and stretch their budget. Most folks have costly mobile phones which aren’t necessary so always a good helmet and then a phone
If you are stopped by a cop and wearing a premium helmet because you value safety you can state you have had this for a bit. They are interested in shutting down import and sale from stores for good helmet but the crap from steebird etc is fine. Cops don’t go after individuals
Yes, that should get you through such a situation. However, there is still a law in place which allows them to fine you in case you are wearing a non-ISI helmet at that very moment, even if it is an old purchase. And yes, I agree, the disparity in what is allowed and what is not is crazy.
