I'm glad they got coverage out and love seeing these guys play but the commentary needs some help. Its monotone, real broke up, and really almost the bare minimum on info. Talk about some of the stats on the holes, maybe talk about the discs the players are throwing (I don't think I even heard a guess as to what they were throwing), or maybe more about what the rest of the field is doing to fill time. It just seems like these guys are bored. I wouldn't even mind hearing little stories or comments about how these guys have played these holes.
Hey guys I like the commentary, not everybody has to be jomez, I appreciate the more relaxed style of commentary as well as the goofy light-hearted commentary from the jomez guys, you're both great and doing your own thing I like it.
Guys you get one tourney to do this year and really I think you missed the target. You had a chance to show out and make this tourney awesome to watch, but you chose the easy route and made the edits short and the commentary was eh terrible. Idk I was expecting more and this wasn't enjoyable to watch at all, I'm not hating it sucks not having this channel for chase coverage so I was hoping you'd do an amazing job to get yourself back in the mix. But.......don't think you're gonna do it this way
I screen recorded it and slowed it down to 25%. I don't think so. Looks similar to AB's step putt which I've also screen recorded and slowed down by 25% a lot. Yet every time it's good. But it's OH so Close.
Yeah I slowed it down and paused it with a pretty clear moment where both his left food was touching the ground while disc was touching fingers. I don't wanna crap on the dude's win, but he did it on another round coverage too. AB does it a lot as well. And really its way too damn close to put that on your cardmates to have to call. Anybody with a decent monitor can slow it down and see it on coverage later, but obviously the card isn't going to call it...🤷♂Oh well, just another asterisk by a win😂
Yeah, it caught my eye in real time. Slow mo confirms it. This type of thing is a real issue. And I don't know how you write the rule to prevent it. Can you just say, "no step putting"?
@dereklosh6720 I don't know about no step putting rule. That's just a form of putting people have adjusted to their whole career. I jump/step putt, but mine is clearly out of my hand before my fore foot hits the ground. I think the officials need to keep a closer eye/ maybe even have 30 second slow down reviews of people's putt who tend to do this and call them on a foot fault.
Just IMO but if youre gonna claim lead card coverage, you should have more exciting commentary... like not trying to be offensive, but the difference between the tone/vibe these guys bring vs. say Jomez is huge. Feels very boring, quiet, little emotion here. I think if you claim lead card coverage, you gotta step up the commentary game
I was thinking the same thing. I remember them saying they are the owners. I don’t think they know they are doing their company a disservice by commentating on they own footage. Either hire more skilled/dynamic communicators or have a production meeting on how to do a better job yourselves. Work out some schtick or banter beforehand and work out some comment timing aspects. Study the rhythm of broadcast partners from other sports. Just hopping in and winging it is bad for your business
Saving money, not paying someone to commentate, was probably not a good call. I've tried to watch this 3 or 4 times now. Saw these guys getting snippy in the comments, too. dont get butthurt. Just spend some money on someone who can entertain and not just say exactly what we are all seeing.
bro when ever that connor rock guy putts he foot faults.. legit every single time. at 7:31 hes putting and he lifts up the right left and then as he releases hes already jumped with his left..... HUH?
Agreed. I even clipped that one before seeing this comment. Slowed it down, definitely foot fault. I have been fooled by some close ones like AB, but Rock definitely faults
@@cupduckstapler dude you can totally tell. I disc golfed with this dude last weekend who i swear did this exact thing. He would make like 70 foot putts by jumping like 12 feet with his 2 full ass steps lmao
Hole 7 is not a par 4. They need to make it a par 3 or change it to actually be a par 4. Throwing in the hazard and still getting an easy birdie is a bad hole.
That’s one take. It’s also a huge blow up hole potential, I kind of like it. Yeah you can go ob and still birdie but you can also miss that Birdie putt and go into the other bunker. It’s different, which is interesting for the players and the fans, imo
Lmao I'm sorry but I must call BS on this. I was there with his card on 3 of the days and he was hitting those baskets so hard. The kid has zero interest in having touch in his putt so that's on him. He could have easily won this tournament and I'm sure plenty of others if he hadn't spit out a million times.
I prefer this commentary. It sounds more like disc golfers than disc golfers trying to be “presenters” . I understand people like the common style of commentary they are used to with other sports like baseball , basketball, etc.. But disc golf isn’t that. It’s a counter culture sport and this type of commentary sounds better IMO
Starting to respect you guys more. No corny ass kid jokes like jomez. They are pandering to children only with their commentary. Y’all are far more professional
