Am I the only one who thinks the Legion 5i this year looks a little ugly? I understand the design change for the 7i, it allowed it to be thinner this year, but the 5i isn't thinner at all... Also, making the plastic apparently cheaper, and pushing almost every port to the sides, especially the Ethernet port, just makes me sad :( I bet they are still one of the best laptops, but c'mon...
@@blondegirl7240 Honestly, the 2022 model was pretty decent (I liked the connectivity better than in 2023), but the 2023 model got a great upgrade (in looks, screen, etc.) at least imo. So, seeing the 2024 now getting downgraded just pains me...
The thing that makes it even more hideous is the fact that they put ports away from each other with some empty spaces on the side and that 3 exhaust model on the back side, omg that back side port looks ugly af
That is 100 percent accurate. companies generally don't make aesthetic products anymore. They only care about money. I'm buying the legion pro 5 i9 13900hx only because I can't and don't want to spend more. but I don't like the laptop at all
Im talking about 40 series -It was said like 3 months back that there wont be super variants for laptops...And CES is pretty much over and no mobile gpus were launched except for amd 7700 and 7800@@heromafia2739
Where are the SLIM variants ? I guess there isn't much improvement versus the '23 models - if at all? NO Ultra-CPUs either? 🤔I stick to my maxed out slim 7i for near future 😊
the non pro models are probably this year's slim variants unless this year theyre reserving the word slim for 14 inch laptops and simply havent announced them yet
LOL, they are more expensive and you dont get anything for the extra except for it looks a bit fancier, for me I prefer standard looks of the i5 as I use mine as my business laptop too. Dont want to go into a meeting with flashing colour keyboard etc LOL
Asus kinda overpriced imo but I get it because of the OLED screens. If you want a Lenovo Laptop with a Mini LED and can still game, go for the Yoga Pro 9i. That laptop is best for content creators with a but of gaming on the side.
Not quite. i7-14700HX in Gen 9 model is still better than i7-13700HX in Gen 8 model. I have the i9-14900HX variant though. If you don't have enough money, then stick to the 2023 version. Otherwise, I suggest you get the i7 4070 variant of the Pro 5i Gen 9 which is the sweet spot for the money.
Im tired of trying to figure out the difference between the 5 vs 5 i Slim vs Pro 5 vs 7 2023 vs 2024 model Super tiring. Just tell me what's the closest to a thin, portable 14" G14 comparable Legion model. With closest to 64GB or 32GB RAM + 4070.. ?
@@BenGKaiser TNX so much, Ben! But it's 16GB only. I gotta work on After Effects + Davinci. The G14 begins to look sketchy in reliability from comments I read so I'm trying to understand what could be it's (Lenovo) competitor. I wanted 64GB at first, but for 14" with all new soldered models it seems I'd have to settle for some 32GB + 4070. Question is, which model fits that and is still portable?
You can customise legion slim 5 14" with 32gb ram. You'll have to settle with amd ryzen 7 7840hs (which is almost similar to ryzen 9 7940hs) and rtx 4060 8gb. I think that would be a decent build
I am wondering why oh why Lenovo stuck with IPS panels only except the 9 series with mini-LED. I am totally dissapointed there are no any mini-LED panel options other than 9 series and no any OLED options. So dissapointed right now.
@@rajyavardhansingh4491 The 5i has two options and only 100% RGBs, the 5 pro has three options and one of them says 100% DCI-P3. Just look for the sheet specification on Google. Write Legion 5 pro IRX9.
Lenovo is STILL Confusing. Can someone plz just tell me which 2024 Lenovo models are comparable to the Asus G14? 1. Thin and light 14" inch 2. RTX 4070 3. 32GB RAM 4. AMD CPU (if available) 5. Optional screen (worried about OLED burn-in so maybe Lenovo offers miniLED or IPS instead?) Which Lenovo model fits this profile?
In India, they are offering 5i pro with 100% dci-p3. I am assuming that they are going to start offering that to all models in other countries too soon.
