At higher speeds there’s a good amount of movement in the glass when rolled down slightly. Anyone else seeing this? #gx550 #gx #lexusoffroad #lexus #lexusclub
Looks like the mirrors redirect the majority of the air/wind onto your windows instead of having them go right around their shell now imagine it with regular single paned glass crazy wind noise. I suggest looking at those small fins for anti-buffeting and putting it along your inner mirror shell.
@@mr.thomaschung8718 the ford trucks and SUVs, as well as bmw/dodge and Audi SUVs I’ve been In recently all have large boxy windows and none noticeably rattled like this, in my experience
That’s straight up bullshit. I’ve had my 2017 w463 g63 for 6 years and I daily 150km on highway in every weather with speed of 60-150 kmh never seen anything like this even for one time
Yeah I have this on mine too. A lot of the comments don’t know WTF they’re talking about as the issue is only on the driver side window and not the passenger. Did you mention this to the dealer? Did you get it repaired?
Bro really? Complaining about the simplest things. My Audi does the same thing at highway speeds. Im amazed how they put dual laminated glass on the front doors. Something only seen in modern RR ans Bentleys
Yes they had one on original roll out date that pushed mine back 30 days about too! I was told the original one was the wrapping for transport caused some paint damage on the exterior for some units. I don’t know if that’s the same issue now or different reasoning! Hope you get yours asap!!! I’m nitpicking little flaws!
@@JAXEStube this is good to know! Because nobody at our Lexus dealer could tell us anything on the reasoning why. Hopefully when we get ours there’s not a whole lot of recalls on top of the wait we’ve had.
@@888devito I think that’s why they’re doing the delay is to avoid recalls, my buddy found a forum where someone who works at Lexus stated the original reason for the port delay! It’s better than releasing a product then having a recall!
@@JAXEStube we have a 22 tundra platinum also, and when we bought it new it’s had almost 15 recalls by now. All covered under Toyota.. so I’d rather just have the vehicle now because there’s no way the recalls are going to be fixed at the port lol Thanks for the insight!
@@JAXEStube dual paned windows are acoustic, usually its a single pane glass but acoustic/dual paned glass reduce sound waves trying to get in (road noise) and same goes for wind noise. They're common in luxury vehicles or a regular vehicle that may have an option for it if you spend more in a package.
@@Damen0530 my mpg is sadly 14.3 and stuck there Eventhough I drive 80% freeway if I guess. I want 17 combined like it stated lol. How are you liking the premium @chkang83
@@JAXEStube I'm still waiting for mine to deliver, it's supposed to be here sometime time in late July/early August. But now I'm hear they are pushing delivery dates back due to the issues with the engine?
What do you want the dealer to do? It’s design and aero related. It would maybe need some aero work on the a pillar or a complete redesign of the shape.
@@Isovapor I agree! That’s what rubs me the wrong way when I really sit and think on it! If it was a 60k vehicle these are more doable, when you’re out the door nearly 100k I’m a little annoyed!
13.6 average mpg.. 270ish miles per tank? Do you do a lot of city/ stop and go driving? I was hoping it’d be a little better on fuel and it’d be a plus to have a larger fuel tank to compensate for less mpg. But we can’t have it all. I still want one.
Haha it’s tough! I do around 80-90% highway driving and 13.7 mpg is the best I’ve seen on mine, I always get 92 as well. Says I’m suppose to average 17 and highway gets close the 19/20, there’s no way. If I took the roof rack off I was told that should improve a mpg or 2, so maybe that’s bigger dent in my than expected. Get one! They’re still amazing haha! So fun to drive.
I definitely want one! Only thing i don’t like at the moment is the questionable long term reliability.. based on a few posts I read online about the main bearing failing in the other models that share this similar engine. But I hear it’s not that common so I don’t think it’s a dealbreaker. If the dealer offers me an extended warranty of 150k for the powertrain for just a bit extra money I’ll buy it in a heartbeat. Love the looks and the way it drives. Did you get an extended warranty? If so, wanna share how much extra that cost you?
@@natefoster6851In 2010 when the beloved V8 came out, Toyota had a 250k recall on the engine, they figured it out, and now, all the old GX owners are mad they don’t have there beloved V8 when at the beginning also had a recall. They will get it right, maybe wait for the 2025 or 2026 version.
@@JAXEStube13.7 on mostly highway is not good, I was expecting more. You think the over-trail tires has an effect? I’m in line for a premium and hope to get the 19mpg on highway driving.
@@henrypolanco8915 it states 19/20 Highway estimate even for the overtrail and 17 combined! I’m way below. I get 92-93 gas and will soon take the rack off! I better get atleast 17 overall since 90% Highway driving
