The TX is one of my favorites in this segment, i only have a few qualms which can be solved wit a refresh. I want to see more interior color options, and wood trim, triple beam LED's as those are a Lexus signature at this point, and just like you said the expansion of the rear wheel steer to the plug-in-hybrid, I am assuming that and the pano sunroof are missing due to the extra weight of the batteries and all that, but it would be nice to see it. As far as plug-in hybrid goes, I think this has the best system, the only other 2 competitors I can think of is the XC90 recharge and the Grand Chrokee L 4XE, but those two use 4cylonder based systems, and while they produce more power, I don't think they are as refined as the Lexus V6 system. I heard more color options will come eventually. For now, according to various journalists like redline review (Sofyan) according to Lexus, the color options are limited since they focus on building them as many as they can and then add more options later. Though I have to admit, the interior, in my opinion, looks bland. The RX interior looks slightly better with the wood accents and more colors that look luxurious like their macadamia interior.
@@joecrash1232 I completely agree with what you’re saying, I’ve seen a TX in person and the interior materials and quality are really good as you’d expect from a Lexus but if you don’t get the cream, Birch or peppercorn interior, it just looks very bland which grey and black materials, that’s why I feel Lexus needs to add more colors and wood options like the RX. They already for the feel of the interior down, I think they just need to make it look more inviting with some colors
It is unfortunately bland. The issues are wide too, the center console armrest situation is just unusual and is non adjustable. The interior materials are ok but the RX had a much better blend of nicer surfaces and better build quality than the TX It’s a gimmick but the ambient lighting on the tx is also nonexistent for a new $80k vehicle that’s unacceptable in todays luxury market. Otherwise the FANTASTIC powertrain quells many complaints. Just the suspension still is a bit too firm for a luxury tastes, could be the massive wheels though.
Is it suitable to sleep in it with closed windows and have either heat or cold air running? The Car Care Nut technician said that we should not let a hybrid car idle for too long.
Thanks for the review! When in EV only mode, from a stop, what is its acceleration like? I'm wondering if its like an economy car b/c of its weight to EV power ratio or is it 'acceptable'? Would you feel comfortable pulling out into 45mph traffic from a stop in EV mode?
While i think that the TX is an okay luxury 3-row SUV. For me, this is just almost too simillar to the Grand Highlander, especially with the way it looks and tbh, i also just don't really think that it's worth $80k. I think if i we're to purchase one of these, i'll just go ahead and buy the cheaper TX500h instead.
Would be accurate to say that if that battery has a 18.1kWh capacity and my Electricity Company charges me $0,094 per kWh, that I could 100% charge this battery for around $1.7 ?
@@Allcarnews And you still have many places with free charging stations (any restrictions on which stations are compatible?) , 33 miles is a really good number and you are still charging it with the regenerative breaking system (plus, you have the charging method from the gas engine as a backup)
