2024 Mazda CX-30 review | Worth the asking price? | Cost of Ownership 

Agreed - as the owner of a CX-5, I would recommend you get a CX-5. On the question of turbos, I’ve previously owned a Golf 5 GTi, Audi A3 1.8T Sportback, BMW 320d, I can say that turbos have their pros and cons, but is not absolutely necessary even here in Joburg. In my CX-5, I only feel the need for more power when fully loaded with 5 passengers, plus their luggage, with the aircon on. Sure, a little more power would be nice to have from the naturally aspirated engine, but I can tell you that this engine will outlast ANY turbo engine. When driven calmly and smoothly, I am getting 7.1 l/100km average fuel consumption, which is brilliant for a mid-sized SUV. Mazda’s naturally aspirated engines are so under-rated because they are designed to be hyper-efficient and reliable, not for outright power. If you want to dice at traffic lights, then Mazda is not the brand for you, but expect your fuel consumption, engine reliability and insurance costs to go for a loop with a turbocharged engine from another brand. Your choice.

Madza's stubbornness on its engines is the only thing standing on its way to greatness... They are well priced and a great package... They need to update the tech, though. The price!!!

I love it, I would get it or get a used CX-5 carbon edition or Individual for that price, This car is not aimed to sell like hot cakes, the people who buy these cars are the kind of people who buy cars like your X2, those individualistic and not your typical choices like T-Roc. I love the approach to the tech, cos mostly we set up things as we leave once you going you dont need be fiddling with any screen, I love it. Its not the easiest but its exclusive. I would get this over any Kia,Hyundai, Haval or Cherry

mazda products have great build Quality and they are very reliable, CX 30 is overpriced.. my choice is still CX5.

The price difference in Mazda's range is maniacal, especially when comparing this model to the CX-5. However, I can appreciate this offering. It's brilliant for older individuals who are technologically challenged and dislike fussy tech. The wheel control for the infotainment is reminiscent of older BMWs and Benzes, making it a familiar and comfortable choice for those who have been priced out of those brands. Additionally, this model is perfect for those who find the step up to full SUVs a bit too much.

The back exterior looks hideous Masebe but the interior is amazing. I like the interior minimalist design but the infotainment screen could be slightly bigger. Price tag yona aowa... I rather go for Kia. And you do look amazing sister. Keep up the good work.

I drive a 2020 Mazda 3 and it basically looks the same as that 2024 Mazda CX30`s interior. Mazda needs to innovate!! Maseve, you should be able to pick up and drop the calls on the steering wheel buttons. No need to swivel norbs.

So an extra R60 - R70 on your CX30 installment a month gets you a mid spec CX5. I would rather sacrifice not eating bacon na maqanda once a month and go for the CX5🤣...Pricing is waaay off..

Mazda gets points on reliability however in this generation it's just boring. I think mazda needs to up it's game in design as well as tech to keep up with the Asian competitors

This car looks nice but I also agree with the things you are not happy about. I personally don't want a car with no sunroof especially with that price.

Personally I hate the segment. In my opinion, it's a Mazda 3 on steroids. However, the build quality is above average especially considering the vast Asian products on offer. Again, build quality top notch, reminiscent of the Honda, those things are made to last. All things considered, I'd go for the Renult Capture.

Also there's too much plastic finishings for that price.

I would rather look for a low mileage CX5 model

Ive honestly fallen out of love with Mazda in the last 10 plus years. They look good now but im not getting yhe appeal outside tha The old 2009 Mazda 3 MPS was the last cool Mazda for me

Mazda just needs to pay a bit more attention to their engines, maybe just gooi a smaller'nyana turbo because ey man those engines are lazy and i hope they fixed their mirror folding mechanism because it just gives up too quick. Also i hate the gloss plastic on the centre console because that part gets scratched so easy and quick.
