Subaru's always-on AWD is superior, but do get less gas mileage due to that. The subaru is surprisingly sprightly to drive due to the turbo, feels a bit like a go-cart compared to other SUVs, which I'm sure is the case with the Mazda too. Always liked Mazda and it gets the edge on look in by book, but the Ascent for practicality can't be beat.

I would be happy with either vehicle in my garage!🤗. We have owned several Subies since 1995 and have enjoyed all of them and really liked the AWD in bad weather and on dry roads (60/40 split). Always reliable too. The only con I can think of on the CX90 is it is a new, 1st year vehicle. Wait until more info is available on it until reliability has been proven.

I have a 23 ascent touring and the there are 3 things I’d like to see in the 24 models. 1. Standard wireless charging 2. heads up display and 3. Ventilated seats in the 2nd row. Aside from they should introduce a wilderness edition and further differentiate the touring from the rest with twin turbo, or introduce a grand touring touring trim with twin turbo to up the specs and power adjusting second row seats

It need more than that, especially for the next generation. The next gen Ascent need to increase its size (particularly the length) to do battle against the current Kia Sorento (that includes the next gen) and the new Hyundai Santa Fe. Those vehicles will have better space to accommodate average height people at 5'10.
