When the brand-new BWM iX1 - the company’s entry-level luxury electric SUV - turned up in our office, it caused quite an uproar among our team members. Our colleague Dhruv Paliwal claimed that it’s the best luxury EV in its segment after driving it just once, while Aakash argued it was no match for the stunning Volvo C40 Recharge. Karan, meanwhile, claimed both the BMW and Volvo are half-baked efforts. He claimed it’s the Kia EV6 that’s the undisputed king of the segment because of its style, spaciousness and abundance of features. More importantly, it offers the best value-for-money, claimed Karan. However, upon hearing the term value-for-money, Shivank barged in and claimed that no one does it better than the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which is substantially more affordable than the other three, and is equally capable if not more.
