I don't understand the purpose of the passenger screen. So it doesn't actually do anything?

Passenger can operate it and view media on it

This is the best dashboard. They should make it standard on the GLE and GLC Coupe too.

GLE will have this exactly dashboard in 3 years as they refreshed their interior this year. GLE interior is modelled from an E class (or very close).

This is unfortunately the only new mercedes that I like and seemingly has not regressed in quality. As a Mercedes fanboy and current e-coupe owner, I am bored with the capacitive touch, screens, and lack of architecture in their new corporate designs. It feels like technology for its own sake - rather than for luxury. The new C-class is much cheaper inside than the prior gen, and the new S class is fine but boring. The new SL is okay too but doesn't do anything for me. Its faux luxury . . . nobody is impressed by nice screens anymore and they will surely look outdated in a decade. I guess I would take the W224 E-450 with no superscreen and some open pore wood. But, I just have my fingers crossed that in 4-5 years with the facelift of this car, they replace the capacitive touch buttons & seat controls with real, tactile, metal buttons. I think the Gt63 4dr & the S-coupe were the perfect interiors that literally hold up better than any car today. It might be missing some of the modern tech - but not really. They didn't make huge leaps and bounds like they did with the last gen cars.
