I owned a 2004 Hyundai Getz. When Kia Australia put the Picanto on their website, I ordered a new Sport auto base model as a second car to replace our outstandingly reliable Getz. I have plenty of money, however I only wanted a fat tyre base comfortable ride for shopping and short A to Bs and occasional trips beyond the city. p.s. I think car enthusiasts do most car review videos and I think that they lose the point that their primary job is for the consumer who in most cases, but not all, couldn't care less about being a speed or acceleration demon.
I had an uber reliable 2005 Getz for nearly 14 years and sold my family and friends on South Korea's Kia and Hyundai. Nearly all of them have one model or another and very happy to have gone that way. Mum's 2019 Picanto is a family favourite and we all vie for a drive. They are the modern day British Mini. The after sales service and customer support are A1 too.
Don't ever buy a car thinking the engine stop system will safe you fuel. It is the most insane thing to be put in the car. You have to have a special battery with 2x the cost and 2/3 of lifetime.wrong battery? It will damage your abs, costing yo 1k for fixing it.
What is the obsession with lane departure warning etc, if they add a feature to disable mobile phones the driver will actually drive the car like they are supposed to be 🤔
At roughly equivalent prices, the base model MG3 is not a particularly attractive option in comparison to the Swift, Mazda 2 or Kia Picanto. The MG3 hybrid appears to have power delivery inconsistencies, and is not especially economical.
@@bumbleGrumI have owned an MG3 from new (5 yrs) and NOTHING had gone wrong. !!……..and I have driven City , and many long country trips………..MG’s are as well built as any of the other Asians.
These little cars are all the car a lot of people need, hopefully these sized cars will always be around. I think you're spoiled for choice if you want a tall larger car, but they're often for practicality only and miss out on that driving joy factor, I've got the i20n and it's hilarious AND pretty darn practical for its size😊
95 used to be between 10-15c more expensive, now its 15 at minimum. 98 is well over 20c added in my area. We've shifted from diesels to petrol for the fuel costs, 95RON + just does not appeal.
I am going from a petrol corolla to an MG3 hybrid. 95 Ron in the MG, that doesn't matter because 95 Ron is 10% more expensive than 91 Ron but MG3 hybrid is 40% better efficiency than the Corrolla. For me it's a 30% saving.
Suzuki Swift with 61 kW. They have been going backwards for years. We still have a 2006 model with a traditional petrol engine and it has 74kW and even the RE2's had between 92-100kW. This fuel efficiency rubbish has gone mad. All the complexity and expense to save a piddly amount of petrol. More cost and less power. Go figure......
Interesting how when they say cheapest car, the picture they show you will be the top spec model - just like how car manufacturers false advertise a model price "From.."
Do not call yourself car experts as you have made a negative comment on the Kia Picanto for having a manual. People can option for the auto if they want but praise the manual. And you were saying that Suzuki not pissing people off with no AEB and lane keep assist us a bad thing, those systems are horrendous. Well done Suzuki for not offering them.
Not at all to me. Much worse crash test safety (yeah, I know they are ok on active safety but not much if you actually hit something harder than a Coke can), seems their reliability/longevity is not good. Kia or the Mazda fine. MG no thanks.
