EVs can be fully charged overnight on the 220v socket in our homes and this car can reach 350km. I guess this car can be driven in the city for 4 to 5days in one charge
Most people don't travel more than 200 km in 1 day commonly SPECIALLY in the Philippines. Batangas to manila is just about 120km. If you just plug it in before a trip at night you'll never have to think about chargers.
If a full charge of an EV costs more or less around 600 pesos in electricity, then sign me up. Saan ka nakakita ng sasakyan na tatakbo ng 400km for just 600 pesos? Not with modern-day gas prices!
@@SRNoobR Gotta include the price of batteries. Its the weakest link in EVs. Bit good news is battery tech nowadays are evolving fast. Solar @ home + Full EVs is a good combo too.
@@geraldreyes7835it would take at least a decade before the battery degrades but still be very usable. By that time, prices of ev batts should be very affordable already 😊
@@SRNoobR Yes, but as these energy companies, such as Meralco etc., put up new charging stations and increase power grid capacity, the burden will be shouldered by consumers.
considering it's an EV, I expected alot of hate for new technology coming in the comments section.. Surprisingly not, not alot of hate, but more of an appreciation to the technology, looks like they pulled in the right viewers 👍 I'm sick and tired of manual gearheads complaining about automatic transmission, CVT, or EMT and DCT 🤷 I drive a manual transmission, and I don't hate other transmission, as well as EV's.
As Top Gear UK said years ago, ICE vehicles will be for racetracks and car collections only once EVs have taken over. That's why enthusiast-oriented brands and models still won't focus 100% on EVs. Though the proliferation of EVs will still be up to each country's infrastructure and, of course, the pockets of the consumers.
Kakabili lang namin yung Long Range version nito. 500km. I test drove Volks, skoda and BYD at eventually ito napili ko kasi superfun to drive siya. First time ko mag switch sa electric car dahil sa taas ng presyo ng gasolina. Looks like i am not going back to to ICE cars.
This car had high raitings from Carwow. The MG4 Xpower is even a at supercar levels in terms of power performance. I was really hoping this would make it to Philippine shores and now glad it did.
That MG4 Xpower is a sports car killer, running 0-100kph in 3.7seconds. But you should also check the MG Cyberster AWD running 0-100kph in 2.8seconds (536hp, 730NM)
While I like how electric cars (min you guys, EV is an umbrella term that also covers the infamous ebikes) are getting closer in price to features ratio that your average consumer will buy, I hope that our energy crisis is also addressed at the same time. With more of these affordable electric cars hitting the market, electricity demand is sure to rise IF mass market adoption is observed.
Can someone verify: does the Standard Range have MG iSMART? I can see the network indicators on the infotainment system. I am assuming there is 4G capability with the Standard variant...
saic been here for like 6 months now but change alot of bad habits that tccci are known for and give old customers a free pms when the take over was final and they want to market mg like they do in uk EV and hybrid at low price
Wow @ that charge time. The EV tech is improving really fast. Sadly had already bought a petrol car just this month, otherwise would really consider this, hopefully once I replace it in 6-10 years, the EV tech and ecosystem in the PH would have improved.
Tech does move fast, and in the next 10 years EV vehicles will surely have more range and the platform (along with the infrastructure) will mature. Enjoy your petrol car for now as you made the right choice.

The price and the unit itself are fair enough. If You want more then BUY Kia EV6 or Lexus RZ 450e I'm a simple homosapien so I'm considering buying this unit soon versus BYD Dolphin😊

I really would love to buy and use an Full EV especially at just 1.4M!! But as a person who frequently travel away from home, this is not viable. And most likely not likely for a long time since the Philippines will not be EV ready until the year 2040 atleast lol. Im gonna stick looking at PHEV for now

1.4M thats a lot of gas/diesel for those have car it approximately 233,000 km of gas milage and with the disadvantage of no charging station for long provincial trip.
Such a stupid comment. Obviously if they're upgrading, they'll be selling the old car. Even if they buy a gas/diesel car, pareho din naman na 1.4m din gagastusin nila para mag upgrade. And there are so many charging stations outside Metro Manila already. La Union, Subic, Bataan, Baguio, Pampanga, Tuguegarao just to name a few. The time you took to write that comment could've been used to do your research.

And even if it comes from renewables (which is good) it would still need years before individual vehicle to be so-called "carbon neutral" or whatever buzzwords. My post still stands as it doesnt target the energy source thats being used by the vehicle. My post targets the EV vehicle's increased rubber pollution (more like atom rubber pollution since it's very tiny) given its weight, and it hastens infra wear/ tear also given by its weight. Im not here to rain on every hyped up people's parade, but just putting some reality check. It's time for the government to put the correct tax for the negative externalities of cars and motorcycles, and other forms of wheel motored transportation.

BEV's infrastructure in the PH is still young, especially with regards to EV fast chargers, EV battery disposal/recycling, and mitigation/containment or extinguishing of fire accidents caused by EVs.
