Depends on what your priorities are. That 1.2L hyundai engine is just boring and sluggish, doesnt support the i20's chasis. The swift has the engine, great chasis and feels sporty. Ofc you could get the n line but thats again much more expensive. If you just think car is car, swift is just a bad deal. Although yes, it is very disappointing that things with the swift havent changed much. At least they could increase space at back. But yeah It'd take a lot of cost and they aren't ready to change.
@@darktitan8085 Fair point, but I don't think that majority of Indian buyers are Sporty car buyers, they are "car is a car" buyer, which should favour i20 but strangely the sales number don't support that.

The swift is so flawed at this point The new engine, it seems the i20's NA engine is more desired, the backseat is terrible, this new model is just competing with better cars with its pricing, etc etc But the sales numbers dont go down for some reason. Idk what it is but its just........weird to think about, considering how many people just subscribe to that "car is car" mentality. Tbh idek whos buying them, where i live, i barely see swifts now.
Other companies: our new engine makes more bhp and torque with same displacement. Maruti: Our new engines make10% less power and torque but gives 0.005 kmpl more.
@@darktitan8085 Numbers are irrelevent its the maruti's philosophy that is important. Hyundai, VW etc went from 114 to 160 bhp for same displacement. Honda makes class leading 121 bhp fomr 1.5L. Japanese are good at making petrol engines yet suzuki decided to make anaemic 1.5L engine in ciaz etc with worst in class power figures to keep mileage obsessed customers happy.
@@huntrz yes but many people still love the ciaz and its engine. Its not just suzuki's philosophy, its honda's too. I dont know how people still like them considering how irrelevant they have deemed the Indian market to be. Even if the city is good, their attitude is far from good. As much as i want suzuki to improve, i just dont see that happening, sadly. Ive honestly never understood the strategy of these 2 companies. Keep making cars worse? Dont get it at all.
@@darktitan8085 exactly my thoughts. Honda is always a decade late to launch the product. Elevate after gen 4 creta. With upcoming WRV they will again give the puny non-turbo 1.2 L engine and will wonder why it isn't selling. But in Thailand they will give 1L turbo engines. They have been harping on the same 1.5L vtec for 2 decades . Others have moved way ahead
@@huntrz unfortunately we dont have much options in the market. Either we have a great engine with great reliability but everything else is a compromise Or we have the engine and reliability comprimised with everything else at least decent. In some segments it improves For example take the sedans that are above 13 lakhs. But we dont have enough choice.
Tiago NRG XZ AMT at 7.85 ex showroom seems to be a better package in terms of ground clearance, safety and price. Mileage and the Maruti brand is the only saviour of this Swift.
Even Baleno top Alpha Manual's Ex Showroom price is ₹938000 which is not far away from Swift's ZXi+ DT price and with dealership discounts you can even get it at a lower price now! Maruti is confusing its customers!
