"I'll give KD an A because he got exactly what he was looking for," says the fat, smug one in the middle. Then why was he willing to part with a very high, unrestricted number one pick in next year's draft for a second chance at Demidov? Any way you slice it, he gave up a chance at two high upside talents (this year's no. 1 at 2 and next years, in a high end draft) for a high floor guy. A guy you could get thru FA or lower in the draft. As a matter of fact, they already have 4 to 5 such players in their system-- Vlasic, KK, Del Mastro, Rinzel, and Allan. All can top out as good 2nd line pairing D'men on a cup contending team. That's ultimately where Levshunov fits in. BUT, he shoots RH'ed............

People are giving Richardson waaaaay too much credit on his drafting. He doesn’t get credit for Bedard and the rest is unknown at this point. People are speaking of Richardson as if he’s been in the game for 15 years and has put together a dynasty.

they 100% should've picked Demidov #2 then traded for Montreals pick since their target is now off the boards. Anaheim was set on a F projected 8-10th and Blue Jackets were dead set on Lindstrom.

seriously its so surface level. they dismiss BPA as "Hawks BPA" when 1. thats not what KD said and 2. thats not what BPA means point blank without any other context. Even according to Hawks scouts they had Demidov at #2 but because they were more familiar with Levshunov they went with Levs at #2 - THAT IS NOT BPA. the most they'll say is they're a little sad the guy they wanted didnt get picked but will blindly believe in what a scouting report says without even watching the guy its what has me so scared about Levshunov - everyone who watches him gets scared when he pinches because he never hustles back its embarrassing

my favorite is when they mockingly call us scouts for pointing out what the OVERWHELMING CONSENSUS AMONG ALL SCOUTS THOUGHT and pretend KD - who literally isn't even a scout - knows best. They're literally saying this smaller pool of scouts lead by a GM knows better then ALL SCOUTS COMBINED💀

After Bobby Hull died, they drugged his di*k through the dirt and only wanted to bring up his personal off ice stuff, instead of celebrating what he did for the Hawks organization. So I didn't watch these wackos the entire year. 3 weeks ago started tuning back in. It's the same sh*t. They like to let people who are making comments get under their skin instead of tuning it out, then like to talk for 5 min about Hawks fans bit*hing about the decisions this organization makes. We buy the product, we buy the merch, we buy the tix..... I feel like we have every right to talk sh*t because we have a laundry list of things to complain about. Didn't the Organization trade away all our young players, to get young players? Bedard you say? Who cares when he's the only one... im very optimistic about the future, but this is why the Hawks fans criticize so much.

They drafted a bunch of big, fast players that top out as bottom 6 forwards based on skill level. Levshunov, at 2, is just another second line D pairing guy, joining a growing list within the organization. THIS limited potential draft class, following a season that produced the second worst record in hockey, deserving of an A? These dolts sound genuinely surprised that some fan's would be disappointed with what they left on the board................

Would have liked Eiserman at 18. Sasha dont look bad on his highlights. But I dont see more than a third liner. Yes you need 3rd liners but not at 18. I just hope Levshunov is as good as they think. Him being right handed swayed his value. My take anyway.

You guys are not GMs you are fans. You are not in the interviews, not around these prospects. Let it go. This is so different than the NFL. These kids could develop and they could not. Thats the hard part about drafting 18 year olds. They have got years to go yet. I think the NHL drafts for need more than best player available more often than not.

Just an armchair GM, but I think Demidov and Eiserman should have been the picks at 2 and 18. Not very excited about Davidson’s decisions but hope they pan out. Maybe he and the scouts know something we don’t but I don’t see any of the forwards selected over the past few years (minus Bedard) becoming elite players in the NHL. Demidov and Eiserman have a good possibility of being elite. Levshunov was a safe pick but not sure he’ll be a #1 at the NHL level. Hope I’m wrong

@@watchmanonthewall2151 When you have a 2.17 goals per game average and your biggest need is scoring, drafting a right-shot defenseman might not be the way to go. Don’t get me wrong, I think we had a solid draft. However, we had an opportunity to have a transcended draft with the selection of Demidov and Eiserman. We could have gotten Emery, Elick, or Badinka with the 34th pick! However time will tell who was right and who was wrong in this situation.

Let's not act like Craig Button is the holy grail of doesn't-miss draft previews. I randomly pulled up his 2016 draft rankings. He had: - Puljujärvi at #3 (ahead of Keller, Matt Tkachuk, and PLD) - Logan Brown at #7 - Hronek at #86 (instead of #53) Those are just a few examples that those rankings are always flawed and even the best in the business miss sometimes. He hit with a couple of his predictions, but others were completely off. There's just no way of knowing beforehand.

this is so fucking ironic. we spammed BPA based on all scouts for how long? then they backpedal on it post draft and then it comes out we could've gotten both had we just played it correctly. Anaheim was dead set on their late top 10 F and Blue Jackets were dead set on Lindstrom. Montreal was dead set on Demidov - you draft Demidov #2 and trade for Montreals #5 pick for next years 1st, Boisverts pick and a 2nd. Instead they only offered a 2nd as well.

Exactly! I've been screaming "In KD we trust!" from the hightest peak. Just let it play out. Remember the Rinzel pick? People were questioning what was going on. He's developing very nicely. These guys are young and have lots of room to grow and hone their craft. The Hawks are in the buisness of developing young players. Let them do their jobs.

WTF... then lets give away 2 more second rounders..that we traded capital for and pick a guy we could have got at 18.... Oh and we have no use for kaner as well...Davidson is absolutely brutal even if these guys wanna kiss his ass... all you need to know is that they have a podcast called GRADING the Hawks draft class and then say welll lets not grade anything.... Hawks got pantsed in every draft Davidson runs.. Bedard was luck of the draw

You lack a fundamental understanding of how scouting, and the draft works. The Hawks do not give a damn where Craig button, Elite Prospects, or anyone else has these guys ranked. They care about there board, and according to there board these were good draft picks. Wait 3-4 years before passing judgement.

I swear these grades are a joke. Are you grading Chicago based on them having 3 1st round picks or are you grading them based on who they actually picked and who they passed up. Ofc when you only look at who they drafted and judge it exclusively by that its going to be a good grade - YOU HAD 3 FIRSTS. But they drafted a late 1st rounder with their mid 1st round pick over Eiserman, Greentree and Hage. They picked Levshunot over Demidover even though they could've gotten both if they just chose them in the order of their rankings. Chicago FAILED at the draft.

It was obvious they were going for quality over quantity we don't need eisermans one dimensional play and I question IS HE EVEN COACHABLE free falled out of the draft before last season started and was considered 2nd overall. Your forgetting we have skilled offensive guys in nazar, moore, bedard, reichel, hayes, and ludwinski. We keep drafting skill over size we'll be RUNNED over like the maple leafs, we need balance of both we need some size and grit to give room for the skilled offensive forwards to their thing. Im shocked most of them arent scouts in the nhl😂😅. Most nhl scouts have said the mhl isnt anywhere near the competition of ncaa and the chl. Guess all the scouts that consistently watch Demidov and rated him the second best prospect probably don’t know anything ask well. But being an armchair scout as you so called it, something I can tell are elite traits. Demidov has many. Whereas, “Arty the Party” elite trait is apparently his personality. We will see which one is having a better NHL career in five years.
