Zeev Buium has the potential to be a 1D, which we need. Why on earth draft a 2-3rd line center? If Luchanko is what they plan on to center Matvei, he will walk. Could it be, they did not choose Zeev bc he is an American & the Americans want nothing to do w the Flyers bc of the Cutter thing? There are numerous elite centers available for trade, Zegras, Necas, Pinto & Johnson. Briere better get to work & grab 2 of them & then sign Zadorov.

They reached but Luchanko was never making it anywhere close to 32. McKenzie had him 19, Button had him 18. Also he's a Center, most compare him to Nick Suziki. I dont love it or hate it.

That's such a cope reaction after the habs drafted Demidov. They didn't screw up last years draft they got a first pairing guy something the flyers don't have.

The issue is taking a 30-something rated pick at 12 or 13. Trade back, even if you only get a 7th. Don't take the guy you could get 20 picks back. If that's the guy you want move back to 30.

Clearly Danny wanted Dickenson but got outbid by San Jose. Then he trades back and drafts a player projected in late 1st round. That could not have gone any worse for them. These 1st rounders are crucial because how flyers are constructed and coached...they won't be drafting early anytime soon. I still don't know about the Center and maybe he shocks everyone but Danny inexperience was on full display.

It may be a reach.....but def not Scott Laughton. Fast as hell, possible fastest in all juniors, very good defensively and a playmaker. One of youngest players in draft. So I'll judge a bit more with another season in ohl

@@unholyhairdo64 the thing is as Danny said few weeks ago...they can't be wrong on these 1st rounders over next two years. That sure looks like a risky pick as most project him as bottom six Center who (if everything breaks right for him) can move up into middle six player. Looks to me like they were leaning on some luck of Dickerson falling to them and when that didn't happen they didn't have a sound plan b.

@carlhammill5774 I generally agree with your POV, but in the absence of a solid Plan B wouldn't it have been more shrewd to just take BPA, i.e., Eiserman/Helenius? It just seems so baffling to me that they thought, "Well, we couldn't get any of the guys we really wanted, so let's just reach on this guy that we could've gotten ten picks later."

@@carlhammill5774Remember Claude Giroux 😂😂😂😂 He wasn't even supposed to make the NHL and now a potential HOF candidate! Jet is only 17 one of the youngest players in the draft relax people!
