Because we are a country open to the world and which welcomes the most foreign tourists, even without the Olympic Games. So it would have been weird not to have any foreign artists.😊

This is the first metal band to preform at the olympics, and the first taste of death metal millions around the world got. Historical preformance and they were the only ones to represent France well that day. Most of the others weren't even French.
Thank you for saying this. I am Canadian, and all I'm hearing from Canadians is how proud they are of Celine. It's a great accomplishment for her, however I question why it wasn't a French artist given the opportunity. Personally, I prefer hearing and watching the talent of the host country. It gives them an opportunity to be introduced to a new crowd, and us an opportunity to expand our horizons hearing/watching the best of the best from that country. I will check out "Gojira" as mentioned in this thread.
It was just all over the place, so confusing. Was some of it pre-recorded?? Did they stop the Parade of Athletes, im so confused?? Besides the commentators and Lady Gaga, everything else was hard to hear.
All musical performances were live Edit : Lady Gaga was not Live, as it was going to rain, for safety reasons, they started filming Lady Gaga when the first visitors started to arrive, so a little before the ceremony. Maybe they rushed just before the ceremony starts, that's why we could see a guy fell during her performance and they kept video despite this incident. Apart from that I believe that all the performances were live.
@@Peculiar_Optics There was actually a Lady Gaga dancer who fell, I doubt they would have kept that if it wasn't live. We could see the rain on some shows like Aya Nakamura's, if it wasn't live there wouldn't have been any rain
