18:39. Here's my promise to any PCT hiker, if I'm ever at the McDonalds on Cajon Pass and I see hiker trash put your money away. McD's on me. You want the McD challenge order. No problem. You guys are all my youtube Rockstars!!! I'm in LA, so the closest accessible freeway points to the PCT are Cabazon, Cajon Pass and Acton/Aqua Dulce. I might do some freeway trail angeling in the near future. Keep on.
My Mom worked at that McDonald's for a few years. She stopped working till the end of 2012..she got sick and passed away..the Owner and Manager helped with her funeral. My Dad still lives down the hwy 138 in Phelan..a mile passed the Morman Rocks. You can see his house from the 138. His driveway touches the 138. Anyways he recommends to have a beer at the Raccoon Saloon in Wrightwood and Burger at the Yodeler 👍🏼..they also have cool cabins you can stay at..and a market to resupply. Wrightwood is 😎👍🏼 Go Chap Go! 👟😎👍🏼
In addition to weenus, the webbing between your thumb and forefinger is called flagina. I trust you will take good care of both as you make your way to Canada! P.S. -- the thumbnail for this video is absolutely wonderful!
The "wildflowers" at Cajon Pass are Gazanias, a type of African Daisy from South Africa. They're seeded by CalTrans along with their stupid South African iceplant, which is listed on another state website as an invasive species. Nobody said governments were logical. - Cajon Pass is one of the few places in the US where tracks from three different railroads can be viewed in the same location. - Remember, the PCT is also an equestrian trail. Hence the gentle grades. - The selfie was fantastic.
Great portrait of all four "hiker trash", you should submit a still to the PCTA for their newsletter! Another good video, I'm enjoying following along and thanks for the slow panos.
Weenus (or weenis or wenis) is a slang word for the excess or loose skin at the joint of one's elbow, which is technically referred to as olecranal skin.
I had a bunch of comments, but accidently deleted them. Not doing it over, except the elbow skin. I had to immediately Google that one. lol "Weenus (or weenis or wenis) is a slang word for the excess or loose skin at the joint of one's elbow, which is technically referred to as olecranal skin." Too funny! Safe travels and happy trails!!
Loving your videos, Lil Chap, and I think this one may be my favorite so far! What a great adventure for you all, and what a fabulous pic of the four of you! Loving your journey!
When Fireball was telling her story, I had a different idea of where she was going. A man driving a truck offering money at a stop right off the highway could be for a very different reason. 😆
Bravo Porter Brass from New York! Bravo, bravo! Wow, I thought I was here for the kicks and the giggles. Certainly, y’all are full of shenanigans and those make my day! However, my heart is overjoyed at this beautiful poetry! Great job Porter Brass!
I had someone stop and wanted me to do yard work and if he would have paid better I might have done it and once a little old lady tried to give me five dollars I told her I was on a hike to Canada and she thought I was crazy I should have just taken the money it would have made her happy
Your new sunglasses are rockin’! But get the polarized ones as soon as you can. Better for cutting the glare thus easier on your eyeballs. I heard all about McDonalds except for the “facilities”. Nothing better than a seat on a real porcelain throne. With toilet paper!!
BEAUTIFUL.....Love the final MT. Rushmore.....Defiantly not homeless...just choose to be HOMEFREE at the moment...Now if Micky D's could just put some actual nutrition in their food you would feel full and satiated...what a concept...Jonesing for tomorrows
It’s true! According to Google, “Weenus” is a slang word for the loose or excess skin at the joint of one’s elbow, which is technically referred to as olecranal skin.
Chap.. one more thing that holey blacktop road you walked on is the old route 66 😎 My Mom thought the same thing about you hikers lol..but when she finally learned the difference between homeless and a hikers. She met and talked with hikers from all over the United States. She also met Movie Stars and Television Stars.. Rock Stars etc. while working at that McDonald's. Are you guys going to Wrightwood?
The valley by swartout campsite up to wrightwood is the San Andreas fault. Wrightwood sits right on it. In 2015 when I stayed there on my hike the movie San Andreas came out lol.
Really enjoyed this video. You are having such a great time and may it continue. What a relief to get back on the trail after all that highway noise. I'm guessing that that it's just doing all that hiking makes you crave a McDonalds!
Nearly every time I've traveled through El Cajon pass, it's been crazy smog, rain, or something like that. Glad to see it not terrible. Good luck with the mcdons gut bomb later.
