2024 planner update | updated hobonichi notebook 

Situation: I decide on Hobo A5 because I’m inspired by Tori’s notes. Tori moves to A6. 😆 Happy birthday, Tori🤗

I wholly appreciate your perspective on planner hopping 💛 I tried out a Hobo weeks a while back, and it didn't work for me. Lately, however, I've been getting the itch to try out the cousin. Loved watching your planner update...and that field notes notebook! Makes me want to start sketching again!

I'm not surprised at all that you've planner hopped...I have too! 🙃 I'm still not taking the leap to the Cousin yet, BUT I still have my Hobonichi Techo 2023 book, and had only used it from Sept.-Dec. so I had almost 6 mos of space to use in that book. I just pulled it out of my stash last weekend and was like "Huh, I should put this to use!" That's also because I was having a mild planner crisis with my Weeks Mega, I was mixing work/personal tasks in it even though I have a completely separate 6-ring planner that I use for work. But I think I have everything sorted out - at least for now lol. I hope the A6 continues to serve you well. 🙂 I love that you and your husband aren't rushing things; one of my long-time friends has been with her husband for over a decade and their son is in 1st or 2nd grade I believe? But they just got legally married in 2022. So yeah, do what works for you and your family for sure. I always love hearing folks refer to their spouses as their best friends - that's how I see my husband too. Anyway, that's enough rambling haha Have a great weekend!

I also use the A6 in conjunction with my Cousin -- I love it to take back and forth with me to work since I journal so much and have some personal stuff in my Cousin (not that it matters, but I don't know if I'd want people from work to read my thoughts haha). I looooove how you use the pencil board as a spot to throw weekly to-do's. Pure genius! I will be adopting that. I don't need the weekly for work but at times having a spot to throw things when I don't know where to put them would be handy. Thanks for the inspo!!

I have a weeks for planning and tracking everything but I just got a spring start a6 as well to ditch my TN inserts for daily journaling. It’s only been 6 days but I’m loving it, the only thing I didn’t love were the margins but thank you for the posca tip I’ll start using it now!

Happy birthday Tori! 🎊 Just wanted to pop in and say that you shouldn‘t at all feel bad for planner hopping. We all go through different stages in our lives and that also means that different systems might feel appropriate. I use all kinds of different systems right now but if I had to choose one it would always be the Hobonichi Original A6. I understand there are some people who need the large planner real estate but A6 is plenty of space for me personally.

Having a weekly dashboard in your a6 is brilliant! I could never figure out how to weekly plan in my a6, this gives me, such good ideas.

I can see why you wanted this cover, nice! I also think that sometimes a change is refreshing that happened unexpectedly to me this year. I got a B6 instead of A5 Sterling Ink planner this year love it! I’m semi retired and this and my weeks was all I needed… until I got a second part time job😮… I needed a bit more space so I got an N1 (I think) standard TN Sterling vertical for work - totally unexpected but oh my goodness I love it! My weeks has become more of an everyday carry for to do, shopping list, etc. I still love them all. The B6 has become my memory planner. I like to try new things. At one point I didn’t think I’d ever move on from an A5… I think you have different needs for different times in your life and just try to embrace and enjoy

Nice layouts and lovely art! I’ve tried the A6 before, but I needed the vertical weekly (and the little supplement book you can buy wasn’t cutting it). Also, you’re so pretty! ☺️ I think you should use what works best for you (and don’t feel bad if you go back to A5 like you mentioned you might decide to do someday).

I dont do planners, nor am i familiar with your content; However, Hobonichi has caught my interest. I am a fan of Itoi's works and i didn't know how big of a brand Hobonichi is in Japan (and out of it). You are the introduction to this community I never knew existed and I'm glad. You have a nice voice and cool nails, and now im inspired to buy my own hobonichi (for what? im unsure!).

Love the video and your daily pages, I am not a hobonichi person, tried it and did not like the paper, I am currently using the take a note planner on A5 ( media and all the thinks journal) and A6 (actual planner: events, appointments, meetings, birthdays, etc) I like what you are doing on your daily pages, tempting me to try again, I do have an A6 2024 Avec.😅 Also, we share same birthday April 6.. me on 1979 so I turned 45 this Saturday. do you like starting in spring? i just got my first hobinichi and it is a weeks spring but idk i kind of love the spring start. then i have all my holidays (we celebrate valentines and some early bdays) in one "year" then move onto the next. it feels nice but idk if thinking to move to traditional january start later. love this video! i can't wait to grow into my style, i like how you use your monthly book reading and physical tracker

That painting is amazing. You might really enjoy Sterling ink planners for next year- her planners provide extra work space, no red/pink for weekends or quotes. Her workspace is edge of the cover with small margin all around.

I had almost the opposite situation lol! Started with the A6 and switched to the cousin last year. I kind of hate it tho - the A6 was sooo convenient toting around and I didn’t feel as much pressure to fill up the empty space!!! I’m definitely picking the A6 back up in 2025 Btw I love your planner layout! Def subscribing to see more :)

i actually set up my avec + hobonichi journal in my cover and cover on cover and i was kinda not feeling the cover on cover but you make it cute keep it up lol❤

Hi Tori! I was just wondering, have you felt like you have enough room for journaling in the a6 size? I noticed you journal a lot in your cousin and I was just wondering what you do if you run out of space on the day and have more to write? I’ve been enjoying my a5 this quarter but things have gotten a lot busier at work and I’m noticing I have less and less time to fill in my days in the cousin (and I keep getting several days behind). I’ve been considering trying an a6 but the daily pages just seem so small. Thanks!
