Jerm with the sick "happy birthday to the ground" reference. One of my all time favorite SNL/Lonely Island shorts. My Brother and I say it everytime we turf a throw.
Per Paul's comments on hole 10 about Gannon and Cole's mechanical soundness: I agree, and I have wondered if these younger players aren't highly conscious of their career longevity. I think about Eagle's surgery. I just don't see Gannon's form putting any stress on his body, while giving him all the distance he needs. It also seems like Gannon lets his discs do a lot of work for him, which gives him access to a lot of shots.
Why were soo many people on 11s fairway? I almost feel like Calvin's shot was definitely stopped by that guy who did the weird hop. Stopped right under him.
Gain 1 stroke on the card on any of those holes then you're in the clear. You can then win by hitting par on the rest of the holes even if someone birdies out.
Portland is “Rose City” and I hope to god the case itself has some sort of unique detail and embossing on it to actually distinguish itself as a trophy. Otherwise it looks like a Safeway purchase on Mothers Day
Calvin was unfortunately slipping all over the course. Multiple slips on tee shots. Idk how he didn't tweak his ankle if you watch it on the drive on 18.
Great playing in the rain and wind, those dudes are truly the top of the game. One thing I keep wondering though is that with work put into producing these events, why does the trophy presenter always have to yell? Why not give them a portable PA system or wireless mic at least? Seems to cheapen the whole production.
Hey Big Jerm, I love microdosing and macrodosing the ‘shrooms too, but that man did not look like a panda.. It’s all good that you be tripping, no judgement here! Definitely not a panda, though. Stay real, brother!
@shamanschlong lmao spoken like someone who has never played a sport on wet grass. Yea, why would some type of cleat give you improved traction? It's not like that's why they were invented or anything.
Jerm pulling double duty on commentary has 2 best friends call him out on being verbose. Well played round from the booth, gentlemen! Thank you, Jomez team.
2:21 Uli: "...Gannon.. the most mechanically sound disc golfer" Sexton: "..Nnnn..." (Niklas Antilla) Jerm: "..Makes a lot of sense. .." What do you think?
Like I said over and over that the trophies are weird as hell.. Like someone found whatever that was junk in their garage or bought an old storage unit type of trophy 🏆 😅 I’m just saying.. 😂 I love disc golf but those trophies 😂🤣
Germ. Stop talking so much. We all appreciate you. Co-hosts and I assume peer players respect you should have made it clear, you agreed you talk too much. I am guilty too! It's a thing. Just chill and share pertinent info. Appreciate ya.
Seeing them almost come out on the slo-mo, shouldn't frighten you. Quite to the contrary. It should give you greater confidence in the chains ability to catch discs. Not 'almost miss', more 'good catch chains'.
When a player makes birdie, the word birdie covers the scorecard and when it transitions away the score is updated, but NOT THE POSITION? Richard tied for 2nd on hole 10. Let's be specific Bob.
I don't really understand showing Paul's not-super-exciting birdie when he currently has a double digit position.. park a crazy hole, chasing the leader or throw something looong in makes sense. But standard birdie with a c2 putt?
Love you guys but imo the commentating is getting to be more like a RU-vid reaction video. With 3 pros in the both I would expect better. Maybe its time for some new talent? My suggestion: pretend it's a radio broadcast, paint the picture, describe what's happening as it happens to help educate the newly initiated in the sport. Be professional, take your emotions out of it, stop with the sighing after every good shot or bad shot as you relate it to your own personal experience, and stop trying to predict where the disc is going to end up after it's thrown to show your expertise.
@@dhyde7723 I think Niklas has more distance than Mason but the only person shorter than Mason is Emerson. I think they are about the same size. Emerson's torso is long compared to his very short legs. He gets more whip or snap from leaning his torso away from his base (hips). Niklas also has amazing timing and therefore accuracy.
Waaaay too many other card-check ins nowadays. Many of them are completely irrelevant to the chase and just seems to farm more watch time. If someone is actually in contention of winning or overtaking lead carders, sure. But someone who's 8 strokes back of the 4th is kinda lame.
Great coverage as usual. Some talk about the conditions. To be honest, if you’re going to have half of your season before mid June expect rainy, muddy conditions, especially in areas where snow is not unusual. In predominantly North American competition, July, August and September provide ample competitive conditions. Why pack so much in before summer even begins??
Honestly, if you're worried about spoilers don't read the comments of the youtube video for the final round of the tournament. Great job Gannon! (p.s. jomez team: you might be hurting engagement with your videos if you actively discourage people from commenting)
